Had a total of 4 nights stay here mid February with a day off in between to stay a night at Mt Koya. They were happy to store our luggage overnight at no cost so we could travel light to Mt Koya. The hotel was well situated for the metro and many restaurants also walking distance(30minutes approx) to Gion and Nishiki food market and good shopping areas. Room was comfortable and clean, small as was expected but adequate. No view from window of either room we were allocated just a concrete wall/buildings, not a problem as we didn’t spend much time in the room, maybe not so good if you do want to spend more time in your room. Nice spa and staff very friendly and helpful. Liked the meet and greet lady in reception, nice touch. Overall good value for money. Kay and Derek.
We are staying in a triple room which is the spacious room we stayed compared with other 2 hotels in Osaka. Staff are professional and friendly and you are greeted every time you walked in and out the hotel. Hotel breakfast is superb! Lot of choices and refill quickly. One thing want to mention is to add on the website which exit no. from the subway. We went out in the wrong exit and need to walk 20 mins to the hotel. In fact, the correct exit only take 1 min.... but everything else is perfect!
As the other reviewers have said, the hotel is in a good central location where the subway is close and you can also walk to a number of attractions. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel itself was nice, pleasantly decorated and the breakfast buffet was pretty good but not extensive (western and japanese food). We stayed in a room for 3 people on the eighth floor and it was the largest hotel room we stayed in on our 3 week trip around Japan. It has a lovely garden which justifies the name of the hotel - it makes for a relaxing outlook in the lobby and dining area.
This hotel location is just fantastic, middle of kyoto city. Walk 200m to subway station. West side you head for arashiyama, kinkaku-ji area. East side goes to fushimi inari, kiyomizu. Breakfast is nice with great garden view, interesting combination of food. They have public spa bath also which in winter not much visitors will use. Room is clean with private bathroom, not big but is good enough for rest. Somemore they provide free smartphone to use during your stay. So for the price is definitely a good deal.
Front desk staff are really friendly. They will be sure to greet you as you enter or leave the lobby. This hotel is located 2 mins away to the nearest train station, with a couple of convenient stores nearby too. Very convenient if you're looking to grab a bite closeby in the morning. The room wasn't spacious for 2 but it was good enough. Very well equipped and amenities are well provided. Overall it was a good stay.
Enjoyed our stay! Huge room with an amazing garden view at the lobby. Hotel is located at a very convenient and quaint area in Kyoto, plenty of good bakeries and cafes around. Would like to take this opportunity to thank Miss Aoki for going out of her way to send us the money that my fiancé has left in our room's safe. We received the money the moment we reached our next destination's hotel. It might be a common thing in Japan but from where we came from, this level of service is unheard of. It's definitely something that made our Japan trip much more memorable :)
Enjoying our stay. Huge room with coffee machine and traditional green tea set. Shishedo products. Onsen small disappointment as not natural spring and small with OK garden view. No coin laundry and no dry cleaning service for the new year week. Amazing breakfast and if offered the option when booking suggest you consider it. It is a hotel buffet with traditional Japanese items , but not Kaiseki. Plenty of variety and excellent quality. Location is close to karasuma Oike subway which is 3 stops from Kyoto statin on the karasuma subway line. Exit at exit 6 and turn right down the street. When you see Starbucks you have reached the hotel which is opposite. This location is central to nishiiki market, daimaru and takashimaya for shopping as well as smaller shops on local shopping strips. It is walkable to the river and gin district , around 15 minutes if you are a good walker. It is 30 minutes by train to fushimi Inari including transfer and 60 minutes to Nara. Excellent central location that represents good value.
The hotel is reasonably priced in Kyoto. There were a few disappointing - the bath room was mouldy. Mouldy bathroom is quite common in Japan, but this hotel room's mould was quite widely spread. The volume of breakfast was good but quality was average.
This hotel is located in a very convenient area in Kyoto. 2 min walk to karasuma okie subway station. The room is too small for my liking, unfortunately New Year’s Eve I couldn’t get a better hotel. It’s around 15sqm. The small bathroom is offset by a public bath on level 2, a bit like a mini Japanese spa but not spring water. You can walk to gion, about 12 min walk, and yasaka shrine about 20 min. Chon-in temple is right next to it. If you don’t mind walking another 20 min south from yasaka shrine will get you to kitomizudera temple. You can walk to the gion shijo subway which can get you to fushimi inari station. If you want to get to arashiyama get in karasuma okie travel west, change one train and you’re there.
We had a great stay at this hotel for 2 nights on our visit to Kyoto. Central location allows for easy access to train station, convenience stores (for that reasonably priced, yet tasty meal), some great food joints (proximity to a great noodle joint as well as the famous seafood market). Arashiyama is also within 20 min train ride from this place. So also several other famous temples and gardens. We never tried the restaurant at the hotel, so cannot comment either ways. Hospitality was very good and we had a comfortable stay. As usual across Japan, do not xpect large rooms here as well.
