This is a traditional ryokan with onsen facilities, and we chose the half-board option. The kaiseki dinner was excellent—beautifully presented and far more food than anyone could realistically finish. Breakfast was also outstanding, with the choice of either a Japanese or Western-style meal. The resort is slightly removed from the main tourist area of Arashiyama, located across the river and close to one of the train stations, though not the most central lines. This does make it feel quieter, but also means a bit more travel if you're exploring the area. The staff were wonderful—warm, attentive, and helpful throughout our stay. The onsen facilities were extremely relaxing and perfect after a full day of hiking. Overall, a classic ryokan experience with exceptional meals and hospitality.

This was a wonderful stay in west Kyoto, near the river and all that comes with that proximity. The grounds were lovely and the facilty was equally nice. We did not take advantage of the meals since there were so many other options in the community within easy walking distance.

Western breakfast was more to my liking, but the traditional Japanese breakfast was interesting to try. If you enjoy seafood, the traditional Japanese dinner may be something for you.

In Japan, they don't provide room cleaning services every day when a guest is in the hotel, if you need the garbage taken out, or new towels/ sheets, you put a sign on the door. They had 5 private Onsen's that are open 24/7 and are tattoo friendly. My wife and I were able to relax and have a bath together after walking 17k steps in a day. The views around the outside of the hotel and inside are very traditional Japanese and are gorgeous.

Loved the ambiance, getting a Yukata which I wore throughout my stay. No lines for the Onsen which was very relaxing. Meals were served in private booths, also very relaxing.

There was maybe one mark on the wall it took me two seconds to wipe it off. I dont blame the staff for this they are very hardworking men and women. It took me less time to clean a mark than it would've taken to find someone to clean that same mark. Never had a chance to eat breakfast or dinner at the onsen. But there was a very good selection of different places to eat within a couple of steps just outside the onsen. The staff were incredibly friendly most of them do not speak anything other than Japanese. Use Google translate to try and learn a few phrases this will not only make them more open to wait for you to translate your questions. But it will also help make their day a little better. We are all living on this planet together a little kindness goes a long way. I had to ask for some ointment to put on a bug bite so im certain they wouldn't have taken the time to help if both my wife and i weren't being friendly towards the staff. We took the train here it was literally just outside the property so we have no idea where the parking lot is and how the parking works here. Bottom line is treat everyone with respect and dont except everyone to kiss your behind just because you are a customer. Read up on what an onsen and a ryokan actually are. This is not a pool and this is a spiritual place not a daycare. I saw both adults and children running around acting disrespectful towards both the staff and the facility. Yes you have to take off your shoes.

AMAZING! We were instantly wowed when we walked into the property. Free ramen at night, free ice cream, private baths and amazing amenities were icing on the cake. Super easy walk into the gorgeous river area and town center made this resort even more attractive. Beauty all around you. Walk to the famed Bamboo Grove was about 15 mins and very picturesque. My parents and friends opted for on site massage and they absolutely LOVED it. It was so cute to see the guests walking around the resort in the resort provided pajamas and kimonos. We were sad that we only booked for 1 evening. My hubby wanted to come back and stay here for a week. Loved every minute we were at the resort.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Karaksa Hotel Osaka Namba – A place I’d love to return to! Karaksa at Osaka Namba is a hotel I would definitely come back to. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the entire place is spotless and well-kept. The room is quite spacious for Japan, especially given its convenient location near Dotonbori. There are plenty of shopping and dining options just steps away, and I really enjoyed the sense of safety while walking around the nearby streets. The hotel also offers complimentary soft drinks, coffee, and light snacks in the lobby café — a lovely spot to relax after a long day of exploring. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its comfort, cleanliness, and welcoming atmosphere.

The staff were all super friendly. Very clean resort and rooms. Very generous with the food, you can order as much as you want for the kaiseki dinner. Breakfast was also very generous with the portions. Very close proximity to all the attractions, all within walking distances. A lot of free snacks and amenities in the public areas. There are private and pubkic onsens which are easily accessible and very comfortable. Great stay
