This is an older motel this is trying to appear modern. The room was large and comfortable enough, but the bathroom desperately needed an upgrade. The breakfast was included but very basic. At night their restaurant comes alive with the locals - there was always a crowd enjoying the atmosphere with a great menu and well stocked bar, all at reasonable prices.
First impressions are of a 1970's motel needing a makeover, but don't be deceived. The price is right, the service is excellent, the bed comfortable, the restaurant food delicious (continental breakfast free), the free wifi is good and the gardens (with birds and lizards) and the pool create a welcome oasis after a day in the hot sun. Thank you also for the free airport shuttle and to the friendly and helpful staff. A great stay!
Stayed here after 2 big days at Purnululu. Was advised by locals that it was clean and all round good value. It has a restaurant attached and the food was good as was a much needed glass of wine. It has a pool as well and nice surrounds. I went to sleep at 7.30 pm exhausted after a lively dinner and did not wake till 6am. Some places are quite expensive around here. This is a one stop shop and has all you need. Staff very welcoming as well
After a car-breakdown at a saturday night i get the best service and help from the whole stuff at the Ibis Kununurra! Exactly what you need in a moment like that... Thx to Chris and his entire team (sorry, girls, but i'm bad with names... ;-)
This place is oriented around a small swimming pool. It is laid out in rows of 3 units, making finding your room initially a task. A lot of vegetation is planted around the rooms which gives it an oasis and courtyard effect. The place is aging with most facilities looking around 30 years old but they are still functional. Staff is excellent, mainly backpackers and some locals. Wi-Fi is strong and complimentary which is a good reason to stay here.
Stayed 5 nights...room was clean best described as older style but no probs for us or any of our 12 friends ...Chris was most accommodating to just about everything we wanted - he couldn't supply a band for our birthday party tho! which Koby ably helped us organise (she couldn't supply a band either)...close to nearby pub and shops ...quiet and central...satisfaction guaranteed.
I just spent 8 nights at the Ibis Styles Kununurra. It was absolutely fantastic. The service was outstanding. The food was great. The hotel is a bit dated but it was spotlessly clean and the staff made every effort to make sure our stay was comfortable and pleasant. I would recommend this motel and would stay there again without any hesitation. 10 out of 10! A note: because of the high calcium levels in the water the toilet and connections around the taps in the bathrooms look a bit stained. This is NOT due to lack of cleaning!!
Right from receiving a confirmation call from El before our arrival, I was impressed. Airport complimentary transfer was great, arrival greeting was great. Assistance for travellers, service by staff and room by the pool far exceeded out expectations. Nothing was a problem for the team working there.......manager Chris, reception El as well as Kobi and Steve plus the kitchen staff.
We feel confident in booking any Ibis Style motel as they are all well managed, clean and comfortable rooms, Staff were friendly and professional, restaurant was good value for money and has a good selection on the menu,
Unless you're after a room that smells like damp, keep looking. Plenty of other nice, reasonably-priced places to stay in Kununurra. The Ibis Styles is as basic as it gets. I'm actually surprised Ibis would put its name on this place.
