An older style motel, clean and very helpful friendly staff. Nice and quiet at this time of the year. A good location that enabled easy walking to the central town area and our morning walk around the lake.
We selected to stay at this property because it offered breakfast and a restaurant. In what we learn is now the low season, we paid £100 per night for a double room. When we checked in, the manager apologised and said that there was only a continental breakfast available and that the restaurant was not offering meal service as there was no chef. 1. We learned that there has not been a chef for four months so we should have been told in advance and given an option to cancel and go elsewhere. 2. On a public holiday (ANZAC Day), no staff were present just the manager so the continental breakfast didnt even include any fruit. The manager did everything he could to help us during out stay including transport to a restaurant and to the airport and upgrading us to a larger room. It is not the managers fault - this is an issue for the Company to address - apparently the chef was sent to another hotel after Christmas. Our advice to travellers intending to stay is to ask some questions as what is advertised and what is on offer and different.
Had a wonderful few days staying at the Ibis Styles Kununurra. Chris and his team were extremely hospitable and nothing was too much trouble. A special mention of the tasty meal prepared by Chef Ranjit at the restaurant. The older style rooms are very clean and the beds comfortable. We'd highly recommend staying here.
Got the room overlooking the pool and I found it very relaxing. My room had a glass door that opened beside the pool and it gave me good sunlight to illuminate the room during the day. Did not get bothered by some kids having fun in the pool in the afternoon. The room was clean, they got cleaned well everyday as well. Showers had hot and cold. The aircon worked well. The pool is a bit salty, did not smell of chlorine at all. Made me wonder what water they use or how they treat it. Anyway, the temperature was nice and the water appeared clean. The breakfast that came with the room was continental. Most of the fruits seemed canned. But the cereals and milk were nice. Breads and vendor coffee were okay.
This was our fifteenth stop of our around Australia trip. we stayed here 3 nights. Great value for money motel. Rooms are clean with comfortable beds. Gates get locked at night. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the manager went out of his way to book our accommodation for our other stops. Thanks Chris. Awesome pool and BBQ area and if you don't like cooking try their great restaurant meals. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would be happy to recommend to others. We will also be staying here on our return trip. Cheers to all and see you next month.
The Ibis Styles Kununurra is a comfortable hotel conveniently located. There is a nice pool to cool down in and the staff are helpful. The hotel also offers a free airport transfer. Within walking distance to centre of town and shops.
This is an older motel this is trying to appear modern. The room was large and comfortable enough, but the bathroom desperately needed an upgrade. The breakfast was included but very basic. At night their restaurant comes alive with the locals - there was always a crowd enjoying the atmosphere with a great menu and well stocked bar, all at reasonable prices.
First impressions are of a 1970's motel needing a makeover, but don't be deceived. The price is right, the service is excellent, the bed comfortable, the restaurant food delicious (continental breakfast free), the free wifi is good and the gardens (with birds and lizards) and the pool create a welcome oasis after a day in the hot sun. Thank you also for the free airport shuttle and to the friendly and helpful staff. A great stay!
Stayed here after 2 big days at Purnululu. Was advised by locals that it was clean and all round good value. It has a restaurant attached and the food was good as was a much needed glass of wine. It has a pool as well and nice surrounds. I went to sleep at 7.30 pm exhausted after a lively dinner and did not wake till 6am. Some places are quite expensive around here. This is a one stop shop and has all you need. Staff very welcoming as well
After a car-breakdown at a saturday night i get the best service and help from the whole stuff at the Ibis Kununurra! Exactly what you need in a moment like that... Thx to Chris and his entire team (sorry, girls, but i'm bad with names... ;-)
