I was there during mid-June 2017 and the hotel is going through some renovation. The room that was given to me still has quite a strong paint smell. The showerhead was peeing streams of water and the kettle is rusty. However, all this was fixed by the next day. Showerhead was fixed and the kettle was replaced with a brand new one. So, the staff are helpful and there's free wifi. Once you exit the hotel, you are on the market street in China Town, so lots of good food around. No need to worry about food.
The Swiss Inn - Chinatown, as the name suggest is right in the heart of it I did not stay here but had a hotel inspection while on a FAM Trip 151 Rooms Superior, Deluxe and Family Very cheap great value and you cannot fault the location Shopping next door - Petaling Street Food at the hotel was excellent Free Wifi - Strength was average to poor Staff amazing very helpful I would recommend this to someone on a quick two day stopover looking for something conveniant no fuss and boutique
Swiss Inn is nice, clean hotel in a perfect location at the market street in China Town. Don’t be surprised when the taxi driver leaves you in the back entrance on next street, the front is at the pedestrian street. After check-in which is always quick you have to pass a corridor to the front side. The rooms are convenient with good beds even if the choice where reduced as they renovated the rooms on one floor. The breakfast is good and rich. The surroundings are anyway the best reason to stay here. Enjoy the market, shops, massage and rest of China Town. You can eat dinner at the hotel but the street restaurants around the corner are cheaper, more interesting and they have very good food. You can easily reach all parts of KL with public rail transportation. The hotel does arrange an airport transfer at an OK price. If you are four people it is even cheaper than public transportation.
This Hotel is tucked away off of the Petaling Street market in Chinatown. When you enter the hotel, it is very bright & colourful, although still with lots of original features. Very quirky place We ate in the Cafe/Restaurant attached to the hotel, and literally as you step outside you are in the market. One side of the hotel opens into the market where the restaurant/cafe is, and the other side is accessable for cars.
Great location in the middle of China town. Stayed in a room with no window, bath room small but functional, general it is ok. Everything right outside the hotel door! Restaurant food reasonable but restaurant are plentiful nearby.
Stayed 2nd week in March 2017. Staff generally very professional, location backing into Petaling Street , lots of activities Locally and for tourists. The big negative was the tour operator desk at the hotel entrance. Having no time to research we took the convenience of booking there for two to Malacca. The driver supposedly to be also the tour guide appeared to know nothing but given last minute minuscule text book information on Malacca. He didn't know some basic facts about Malacca even have to stop to ask directions to get there. Just wanted to point us to go into the museums and waste our time there. Was a total waste of day and lost opportunity for some local knowledge of the place. Swiss Inn was great but let down by tour desk with inexperienced tour guides.
Stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks while visiting Kuala lumpur it was very good value for money , there was a mini fridge in the room and tea making facilities , these were topped up daily and also bottled water left in the room daily . The young lad that serviced our room was very polite and hard working . All the staff were very pleasant and polite . The hotel was very central for bus and train stations 10 min walk . The only food I tried at the hotel was breakfast which was good value also if you are staying in the hotel you get 20% discount on food . Enjoyed my stay at swiss inn thank you 😁
Stayed 1 night. The check-in staff was extremely polite and helpful. Check-in went fast and the special requests were granted. Located right in Chinatown, the hotel has 2 entrances which was very convenient. Many local food outlets + convenient stores around the hotel. Room was a bit worn out but still clean. Sufficient choice of breakfast buffet. With the price and location it was totally worth.
. . . I've ever tasted, and that's a lot, as I live in SE asia. This was served in the large street-level restaurant opening directly onto Jalan Sultan. TomYam is supposed to be spicy and sour. This one hadn't even a hint of sourness. Maybe they waved a lime over it, but certainly didn't add any to the soup. But the worst offense was the chicken. There was lots of it, but hardly an edible morsel. It consisted entirely of scraps of skin, gristle, and connecting tissue. Certainly no leg, thigh, or breast or any other edible part of the bird. The price of this concoction was an astounding 23 ringgits. Service was lackadaisical. I'll certainly never again darken the doorway of this place.
