Hotel Wilga3.0 out of 5.0

Upon arrival I was met by a strong smell of cooked food which permeated the whole reception area. Although it was coming to 15:00 my room was not ready. When, finally, at 15:10 the receptionist informed me that it WAS ready and gave me the key, it still WAS NOT - the room was still being prepared. I had to leave the luggage with the reception and leave for work. But the biggest unpleasant surprise waited for me in the night - it took me long to fall asleep, as, a waste pipe going somewhere behind the wall in my bathroom produced such a terrible noise every time somebody upstairs used the toilet. So, I fall asleep when people upstairs stopped using their toilets for the night...just to be woken up at 5:22 am - when they started using it again. One more night for me to go .... Can't wait to leave....
Lovely people who work at this hotel. Your requests are attended to promptly. Hotel very clean. Breakfast , continental and very good Hotel situation .... a few minutes walk to the River wilga were it will lead you into the old town, Jewish quarters and the castle , also a short walk to Schindler's factory.
Modern hotel with beautiful spacious and clean rooms. All rooms have Hair dryers and wifi. Wifi is efficient. There is a bawling room in the basement. The staff is really lovely and helpful. Breafast is excellent and a buffet. Its location is not the best but once inside, you forget about the location. We did not use public transport so am not too sure how far it is from the station. You will need transport to the Old town and Jewish quarters.
Ok hotel, just clean enough, Old bathrooms with tiny showers. Rooms were a little on the small side. Bed was just ok by western standards. Staff was very nice. On a side street with no views. Elevator is on the slow side. If money is an abject, this hotel will do. If you can afford more, then spend a little more.
I stayed here whilst working having bought a group of 51 kids and teachers via coach. Hotel staff were excellent throughout, organizing coach parking directly outside. Although a tight turn to move the coach out it all went well! Rooms were clean, nice decor and my room had two single beds. Late check out was not a problem, and was well received as we left at 630pm for a return to London. Food was excellent, especially after the previous city which was Prague. Breakfast was typical Polish, good bread, meat, cheese and cereal and good strong coffee. Evening meal was also provided and again it was excellent. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would visit it again.
Stayed at the Wilga Hotel on a long weekend trip to Krakow with my daughter. The hotel is in a quiet location about 30 minutes walk from the main centre. You can choose either a walk along the river or cut through the Jewish Quarter. On arrival we found we had been allocated a double room not a twin. This was sorted in about five minutes. Our room was on the second floor overlooking the small river. We were close to a main road but it did not cause any issues even with the window open. On the first night the hotel restaurant was fully reserved for a coach party however we were offered room service at no extra cost so no complaints there. You should certainly consider this hotel for your visit to Krakow but make sure you are happy with the walk in to the city. We did not book a taxi so can not comment on cost but the receptionist did offer to book one for us should we have needed one.
Stayed here with a school party. The area at first glance seems run down and some distance from Krakow city centre. It is a good brisk 25 minute walk into main square, however local trams can be caught from end if road. It's location is good for visiting the Jewish ghetto,Schindlers Factory and the city centre. The hotel is modern and at odds with the area which is being developed. Rooms are spacious and they have a mix of doubles and family size rooms. Decor is fresh and modern. Hotel has a silence after ten policy which works however as the other guests were also a school party and younger than group I was with there was some noise. Breakfast is the usual continental spread and lots of it. Staff were helpful, friendly and spoke good English which was useful as my Polish is non existent.
We have just spent 3 nights as a package deal with Jet 2 chosen specifically for facilities offered - pool table, bowling alley and sports TV. They did not disappoint. Normally we would stay more central but a 20 minute walk along the riverbank was nice or it will cost around £4 each way by taxi. The hotel is spotless throughout and comparable with UK Premier Inn. Breakfasts were fresh, varied and plentiful. Staff were excellent. Thank you to Kamil who was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. He is very caring and professional and the hotel are lucky to have him. There were a few problems with a group of American girls on a special Jewish trip that were noisy and inconsiderate to other residents and who decided to come to life between 11pm and 4 am that did spoil our sleep!!! However that was not the fault of staff. We had to ask the girls to close doors, keep down the noise and stop singing at 3am and turn hair dryers off. I think they thought they were the only people in the hotel. They were very inconsiderate and selfish. The group leaders were nowhere to be seen. We spoke to the group leaders and Rabbi's direct before they left and passed on our views directly to them fully supported by hotel staff. The hotel do not welcome hen and stag party's who I imagine would be better behaved than those young ladies!!! The staff were very apologetic. We were just unlucky visiting at the same time as this group. I would have no hesitation staying there again or recommending to family and friends. This has to be one of the cleanest hotels we have visited in Europe. Free wifi was excellent.
Located on a very quiet street in a residential neighborhood on the Podgórze side of the Wisla, this super cozy, modernized hotel was lovely and comfortable. The rooms were large , very pleasantly decorated , with comfy beds, and strong air conditioning. The staff was extremely accommodating, and provided our group of students with a beautifully set dining room for our outside catered Shabbat kosher meal. They simply could not have been nicer. The breakfast provided in the pretty hotel restaurant was fresh, varied and delicious, The hotel''s location is about a 15- 20 minute walk over the Wisla to Kazimierz and the city center , and thus may not be the easiest location for those who aren''t walkers. There was free parking right in front of the hotel, which would make it easily accessible for those with cars. I enjoyed my three day stay here very much.
Perfect for school trips. Came here with 16 children and 3 staff. Food is great. Rooms are lovely and cleaned everyday. Close enough to walk to the city centre but far enough away that kids can't go on their own. 2 lane Bowling alley on site. Everything we need all in one place. Would definitely come again if we visit with another group.
