First things first this was NOT a resort. Pretty sure resorts have concrete stairs and clean rooms upon arrival among a computer to look up bookings. Some guy attempted to check us in because there was no employees to be found. Then we scaled a hill to get to our "ocean view bungalow". We get there and the room has yet to be cleaned from the last person who occupied the room. We left when we found out there were no fans as advertised and not to mention the awful experience leading up to this point. Scaled back down the hill and "checkout", still couldn't find our booking but got charged. Needless to say we splurged and stayed in a REAL resort. WORST EXPERIENCE OF OUR LIVES! No matter what do NOT book this hotel. PLUS its soooooo far away from everything!
We came here as we couldn't find anything else. At first it seemed Alright, our bags were taken to our rooms and the beach looked ok. The staff all had big smiles. The rooms seemed nice (yet still overpriced) compared to some of the other hostels. Then it was downhill from there. No power from 6am-6pm. The guy on reception was either drinking or sleeping. When I asked about the food they supposedly offered, they said we would have to wait an hour or so, luckily the food next door was tasty and not too expensive. Beer and water were way overpriced. Cold shower that had tiny drainage, our bathroom pretty much flooded. Difficult to get anywhere else. We pretty much seemed like a burden being there even after a night. Usually I hate giving bad reviews but I would not recommend this place to anyone, even for a laugh.
This is a good place to get away from the partys at phi phi bay but thats about it.. - no food (except a greasy omelette for breakfast that will give you the runs..) - homemade bungalows that feels and looks like they are about to crash and slide down the mountain side any second. - The manager is rude - there is a lot of people there that seems to work for the place but all they do is play pool.. - no roomservice. - no one understands basic english. - we "booked" a boat (their only one) to go back to phi phi bay and take the cruise back to Phuket town. The manager said that we can go at 11 after we check out. This morning we asked about the time again to confirm and to no surprise the boat was now broken.. It might be fixed by 12. This "hotel" does nothing for themselves and completly rely on the hotel next to them (a few 100m away) you have to do EVERYTHING there. So if you want empty beaches and just read for hours and have really good temper it could be an idea but belive me its frustrating..
Same experience as nearly every other person on here - Went to Phi Phi expecting to get somewhere and every where was full apart from here, paid for three nights and moved to a hostel after which was cheaper and much nicer!! 1. The manager pretends he isn't the manager, speaks English when he wants and pretends he doesn't understand when you have a complaint or a request. 2. No restaurant, no food, and at night no where to even buy water or a drink. 3. They have WI-FI but only two people on it at a time. Otherwise it doesn't work. And you only have WI-FI downstairs. Not in your room. 4. No mosquito nets, dirty towels and bed linen, bungalow felt like it was about to fall to pieces. 5. Bugs, EVERYWHERE in your room. 6. No electricity from 6am until 6pm, so if you want to have a shower and brush your teeth in the morning, or even be able to go to the toilet, you have to make sure you are up before then!!! ****PLEASE READ THIS***** This was by far the biggest rip off - TAXI BOAT FOR THE HOTEL We was told we pay 500bht when we get there (around £10) and we get to use the hotel taxi boat for free for our 3 night stay, at the scheduled times that is, which tend to be on the hour, going to and from the main area of Phi Phi, please be aware that there is NOTHING near Power Beach resort, no shops, bars or restaurants, and YOU CANNOT WALK to the main area, the only way to get there is by the hotel taxi boat. We ended up paying 200bht each way, every day to get out of the hotel, we couldn't have a drink or go to any restaurants because the last boat back to our hotel was at 5.30pm, and if we missed that boat we had to pay 1000bht each! 20 GBP!!! So for three nights we was stuck there, unless we wanted to pay nearly £100 each in taxi boat fares. Do not stay here even as a last resort, I would of rather caught the boat back to Krabbi or Phuket and stayed there until I found something else - Ironically it was cheaper to get a ferry to either of those places as it was 350bht and the taxi boat was 1000bht?? This place needs to be reported and shut down, by the reviews on here by other people it shows how much they are ripping people off.
Like myself and many others I had no option to stay anywhere on phi phi island as it was new year and everywhere was booked out. It was an awful boat ride to get to the hotel for a start i mean I was drenched head to toe, the boat drivers try and rip you off as this is the only way to get I your hotel. Arriving at the hotel the owner tells us there is NO electricity, his english worked when he felt like speaking and then acted dumb if he decided he wasn't bothered to listen. You room is up the steepest stairs you'll ever see!! The room are built on bamboo sticks and the all the drain pipes are hanging out under which was worrying as the water went all over the ground where the bamboo sticks are holding you bedroom up so this surely this will cause movement for them collapse. Food? What food.. After ordering a pad Thai (cooked on a gas hob) an hour went buy so I asked the guy if it was on it's way "Yes soon" 2hours later i ate.. Meeting a few people went to the hotel next door which was far better with internet, music, bar and entertainment. We sin the new year there which was much better and not a complete disaster to our trip. Honestly don't go to phiphi power if there's no accom on the island go else where it really wasn't worth the stress!!
Ok so firstly im going to start by listing the good points of the hotel.... Ok so now the bad points 1. Poor customer service, the main guy is rude, ignorant and is highly suspicious of anyone who turns up at the hotel (dont like to use that word to describe this place). Obviously has no computer system in place so unless you have proof of booking your out of there. 2. No restaurant at all. If you want food you have to go to the hotel about 300 meters away. 3. Worse WIFI ever 4. No power between 6am and 6pm - This was such a joke that I had to use the light from my phone to be able to see the toilet as no window in there 5. The room...where do I start....Broken toilet, broken sink, broken tv, broken safe, beds hard as concrete, locks on doors ridculous.....a 4 year old could prob break in! 6. No entertainment apart from a crap pool table, but god forbid you play as your be attacked by mozzies constantly, no bug protection at all. In summary, this is the worse hotel i have ever stayed at ever, we only stayed here as we had no where else to go. Its a total rip off and im embarrassed to have ever stayed here, me and my friend were reading books at 10pm in our room as there was literally nothing else to do! The place should be shut down as its so bad! Stay here at your peril, I did 2 nights and when we finally left me and others on the taxi boat were laughing and smiling, we had escaped the hotel from hell!
awful location, awful service, staff spoke terrible English and did not seem to have record of our booking.... we re named the place "powerless beach" as they turn the power off and on through out the day.... that being said the fan rooms had no fan during the power outages. wifi would only work in lobby. no real food available. thank god for the place next door or we would have starved. our room was up a long and very sketchy flight of "stairs" (if you can even call them that) varying in both shape and size making them very hard to navigate especially during the night. there was so much trash littering the grounds and they seemed to dispose of it by lighting little fires all over the property.... place is a decently expensive boat ride away from the Main pier and once you're there you are basically trapped until morning. if this was a cheap hotel I would chalk it up to "you get what you pay for" but this hell hole cost almost $100! do not waste your money!!!
I've done my fair share of travelling around the world, Asia, Africa, Europe. This is by far the worst experience I've had. Check in was painful. Our room was at the top of the hill, the steps to get up there are an utter joke, so dangerous its unreal. We got into our basic but clean room, chucked out bags down and went for a drink in the resort next door. I came back alone on the evening for a shower and clean up before dinner. The whole 'resort' was in complete darkness. I asked the staff why there was no light. They laughed at me and said 'not today'. They gave me 'candles' which were beer cans full of petrol with a rag coming out like a little petrol bomb. I went into the room to try to have a shower, to find that there wasn't any water either!! I just went to the resort next door to have dinner filthy dirty. After dinner and few drinks i went back to the room, to find it riddled with bugs and a huge spider under the pillow. Luckily, I had friends staying next door so i slept on their hard wooden floor. I had a night there the next day too. I had to check out, this place isn't fit for human beings. Even ones ones on a budget. AVOID THIS 'HOTEL'
What a piece of crap! We booked in here to find absolutely nobody else at the "resort." You have to take another ($800 Bot) boat from KPP Harbour to this hole for starters. The beach is terrible and sharp. The restaurant was out of everything and the staff (also the hotel staff) didn't speak a lick of English! Not bad enough yet? K here's the two final kickers. The electricity in the rooms (including wifi) is turned off until 6pm everyday cause the owner is cheap and cuts corners wherever possible. AND last but not least...the toilets in these raised bungalows do not have a pipe connected out the bottom. Meaning when someone in a room flushes...oh yea...you see it all fly out the bottom of the bungalow. I'd rather try my luck sleeping in the ocean than spend another night here!
We arrived at the power beach resort at night to find the whole place in complete darkness. The staff just sat us down and then carried on doing whatever they were doing. After a while we asked when we could go to our room and they didn't seem to have a clue what was going on and it was almost like they weren't even expecting us. The room itself was okay, huge bed, sea view etc. But after digging out a torch to use the toilet all I found was cockroaches and an ice cold shower. Within an hour of being here I was in tears. The management couldn't care less about anyone's complaints and the whole attitude of the place was terrible. The location is either a 1000tbh (£20) boat ride away or an hours trek through the jungle. The only positive of this is you are far away from all the noise and have a nice quite beach to yourself. We made the most of our experience staying here but was glad to get away after 3 long nights.
