This is one of the most beautiful and picturesque property where i have stayed at. The location is exotic! The food is really good for vegetarians also(since we are vegetarians). The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, namely jujube, Jack, Gipt and seed 😀 I highly recommend staying here. The picture below is if a complementary dessert given to us by the staff which is a baileys and chocolate chip liquid nitrogen ice cream!
On 17th October dinner, the staff Jujube, Gift, Jack, Seed, of Lotus Court restaurant had a surprise for us. After a sumptous dinner, they had a surprise complimentary dessert, Baileys Chovlate Chip liquid nitrogen ice cream. They prepared the ice cream in front of us. My whole family of 6, enjiyed this like anything. Thanks to the above staff of Lotus Court, Centara grand villa resort, Krabi.
The Hotel has a beautifull location. The views from all sides/angles are stunning. The boat ride from the pier to the hotel (that's the only way to get to the Hotel & they provide the complimentary boat service at set times) adds to the fun and excitement. The rooms & villas are on split levels. The room sizes are generous with lovely balconies and jaw dropping views of the sea & the limestone cliffs. There is a lot of greenery all around. You get a sense of calm when you are at the property. Definitely recommended.
Here right now Beautiful location, hotel, staff, food However I am extremely unhappy about the floating jetty I am absolutely petrified of it Arrived in a storm jetty horrendous Arrived back from a day trip jetty even more horrendous I have no intention of using it again until it's time to leave It's really made my stay here with very limited options as what to do Used the monkey trail but again would rather not I would've thought that a hotel with this caliber would have a fixed jetty I literally reached the sand after hanging onto the white posts for dear life. Got off shaking & crying (& I am not that sort of person in the real world) I am literally dreading getting back on the jetty on departure date It has tainted my stay here & was so looking forward to boat trips The thought of arriving by boat seemed really exciting & glamorous Feel quite distressed at this moment
Location is amazing, you will take excursions to end up in a place like where this hotel is. Railay around the corner doesn’t offer better views. Beautiful semi private beach, accessible by boat for hotel guest or monkey trail. We took a room with views on the beach, 3rd floor, not lift (ok, but please explain upfront!). Stairs all day wet and dirty, so dangerous to go up and down. Balcony also dirty with leaves and water, no cleaning. Room very cool some many years back, very outdated now or poorly taken care. Cleaning was a joke. No renovation of the 1 toilet paper, 1 gel for 4.everyday had to call for the same. Food in restaurant expensive, but nice variety with several restaurants, that is a bonus. Swimming pool very beautiful, showers 1, working poorly, so nobody used it, even from beach... people working in hotel not friendly as I have been used in other Thailand visits. I would only return for the view, rest very unsatisfactory.
Best thing first. The location of this hotel is fantastic and through the monkey trail very close to Ao Nang town. Beach is very nice as well and not full of 1 day excursion tourists. Lovely pool and actualy a nice infrastructure with several restaurants. BUT, the hotel is outdated, needs refurbishing. Staff is not as nice as in other hotels around. A lot of things are on extra. We went 2 adults with 2 childs and they put us only 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner and 1 body cream per day. We asked for more, which they gave us with dislike. Room was ok clean but our balcony was never get cleaned. And when it is raining, the water runoffs are constantly blocked by leaves which are not taken away, so we needed to walk in water. Food at the beach bar is nice, but very west hemisphere oriented. Same for main restaurant. Prices are totally overpriced for Thailand - mostly for massages and drinks. Overall, an outdated hotel with a great location.
Location is great and hotel as well: premices, beach, services, view...all great. One tip: too few shuttle boat from the pier to the hotel. One every 1/2 hour would be better than every hour or 1 and 1/2 hour. Also booking a taxi from the airport to the pier through the hotel (no additional service) at a price of 2 500 baths when regular price is 700 / 800...not fair.
There are too many choices before you come to Thailand - eventually we decided on Centara. Once committed, we read all the good and bad on TripAdvisor to set the right level of expectations, to make sure we enjoyed it. Overall it worked. Unwarranted fears: the boat ramp isn't scary in good weather, there aren't that many stairs for most of the rooms, our bags arrived in our room relatively quickly and the monkey trail takes only 10 minutes to do. The way some people wrote of the Monkey Trail, I thought it was an hour trek beating back jungle over a mountain. It's not. It is a sweaty thing to do, though, and the start and finish does have lots of steps - 98 steep ones on the first upward section, 164 on the downward the other side, I counted. Elderly, pregnant, small kids, luggage, high-heels, cocktail dress, raining? Probably not a good idea. But for most people, what the Monkey Trail allows is freedom to walk along the beach into Ao Nang and back without worrying about the shuttle boat - which incidentally travels to a pier that is not within walking distance of Ao Nang. Having Ao Nang 20 minutes walk away means we could experience seclusion in Centara yet go and eat/massage/shop in a place a little more lively and more normal prices, esp for massage. (We came back once in the dark - getting to the start of the trail the other side needs a phone-torch, but there is some lighting along the trail itself). Centara the resort is genuinely impressive. The premises are good. Stylish and clean. Room was big and interesting. Grass, trees, brilliant beach, pool is good, I thought the breakfast buffet was good - and spectacular cliffs behind. Extremely picturesque. The people are probably not New York 5-star professional, but friendly - and frankly this place is miles from any big city and is not stupidly expensive, I can't imagine many experienced staff are dropping out of the trees nearby asking for a job. Ground floor rooms are convenient for getting in and out, but if you're thinking to have the privacy to get a tan on your balcony, order the middle or top floor. We couldn't see another balcony from our room, and no one could see
My wife and I stayed here in September 2017. We took a little bit of a gamble as reading other reviews about Thailand in September the chance of rain was high however in our 2 weeks it rained for one afternoon and one morning. The rest of the time it was mid 30s. Amazing! This hotel was perfect for us and we would return in a heartbeat given the chance. It was quiet, peaceful, relaxing and everything else we wanted. We stayed in an ocean facing spa room with amazing views being able to watch the sun set every night. Our room was lovely and we were on honeymoon so the staff made some extra efforts which were hugely appreciated. Our room was at the top which is fine to walk down but after a long day can be hard to walk up but just ask for a buggy and the staff will help out. Every single staff member was a credit to the hotel and I've never stayed anywhere so friendly. There is talk in other reviews about monkeys causing issues but we only had one appear on our balcony in the whole stay and that was for about 10 minutes in the morning. It was very friendly and just sat there. Just make sure you keep your doors shut and you're fine. Obviously if you do the monkey trail you will see many more but again just keep walking and follow the guidelines that are set out like no loose jewellery, food etc. The trek takes about 10-15 mins depending on how many others are doing it and your pace. It is hard work going up! The hotel offers great food in any restaurant or even room service and you can easily book trips from the hotel too. If the sea is a little rough just getting to the boat can be an adventure along the jeti. The beach is lovely and at low tide you can walk around to Ao Nang rather than take a boat or the monkey trail. All in all we couldn't have wished for a better stay and can't recommend this hotel enough!
My wife and I have just spent 10 nights at the resort - Sept 2017. There are a number of things I should highlight, both good and not so good. The staff; overall they were excellent, friendly attentive and no doubt focussed on customer service. Two staff members stood out For and Jack at the Lotus Court, both are an asset to the resort. When I see negative reviews about the staff and even racist comments they were certainly not our experience and was never witnessed. The Food and Beverage; The breakfast buffet was particulaly good and had a choice of food for all tastes, and Jack's cappuccino was excellent. The cost of drinks inc alcoholic drinks are considered a bit excessive when you add on grats and govt tax. Bottle of water ending up costing 230 baht, or 6 GBP. Food had a good choice and suited all tastes. Beware if eating at hagi restaurant as the bill really adds up. The dock; Arrival by boat seems idylic, but not when the weather is a bit choppy and the plastic floating dock is up and down like a fiddlers elbow. I must confess there are staff on hand especially the security team who do thier best to steady you on the dock. They are the unsung heroes. Comment: Why don't the Hotel invest in a more secure dock, I am sure there is a reason. The room; A standard room with an ocean view, although with the greenery having grown up some of the view was obscured. Cleaning staff were great and room was kept spotless. The beach and location; The beach on arrival on an overcast day with rain looked a bit like Skegness, as the sea was a gravy colour as it rolled in. The scenery of the limestone rocks and area was stunning, and in the sun it was even more stunning. The sea never really cleared up, well it was monsoon season. The staff were seen on numerous occassions clearing the beach. The Spa and Fitness; Both facilities are excellent. The Pool; A very nice pool, the other pool and area was under renovation. The finale: THE MONKEY TRAIL, the only other way out of the resort. Day one I was actually mugged not by a delinquent criminal but a furry resident in the National Park. He flew out of the tree and grabbed onto a carrier bag holding lunch. He/She was able to extracate lunch from the bag. The monkey obviously eyed up new hotel residents and we were seen as a soft touch. Once we knew how to move through the trail we had no further problems. It is a bit physical and returning at night the trail is very well lit. It is not for anyone with mobility problems. Overal was it paradise...well no. Very good resort but does not quite have the polished feel of the Maldives etc.
