We booked a junior suite, so we were located on the sixth floor, there was no minibar as it said and the room was small, with worn outdated furniture. A good selection of buffet breakfast, however poor quality. The positives was nice views, good wifi and very friendly staff with genuine smiles and approachable manner.
Resort is huge, very impressed with the size of rooms and value for money. We were well surprised at how nice the restaurant food was too. Unfortunately that's where the positives ended... Our room was massive yes but the facilities inside were well outdated and all need updating badly. The waste bin hadn't been emptied from the previous occupant and we had a furry visitor...! Cute, but not exactly what I'd expect from a 4 star resort! The buildings are also in need of a lot of work. Most of the flower boxes on the balconies are falling apart and are held together with netting. The breakfast options were far from acceptable too. From the advertised pictures on Agoda we were thoroughly disappointed and glad we only had 1 night there.
We had a room with a spatular view of the grounds. The bed was very comfortable and this hotel was really charming. We had a lovely stay and breakfast was good in the morning. The hotel has a wonderful swimming pool and has the most impressive grounds i have seen whilst on our travels around Thailand. The pool bar offered snacks too and were lovely. The staff at this hotel are exceptional. They allowed us to have a 3pm check out as our flight back to Bangkok wasn't until the evening. It was so kind of them and we are ever so grateful. The hotel itself is massive and it must take so much work keeping it in shape. In some areas you can see that parts of the hotel is tired but it was still a great stay at a great price. We managed to walk to the weekend market from our hotel and there are restaurants nearby. Thank you for having us stay.
Nice hotel with spacious room if you book family room. Standard room normal. Outside hotel with pool good. Food ok but did not specifically have halal food for breakfast. Hotel shuttle van a bit expensive. Should give free shuttle to the town not charging extra.
Opened on April 1st, 1997, this gem of a property has indeed aged gracefully. This was, and is, a prize of Thailand, visited by the Crown Prince himself. The highlight is actually not the 200 opulent rooms, with lagoon and pool views, but the grounds itself. Wild monkeys roam between the lagoons edge and the adjacent sea bound river. An army of groundskeepers work tirelessly to maintain what would be considered "Shangra-La" to us Westener's. A Wooden wedding pavilion goes unnoticed beyond the massive pool area. A long winding path circles the perimeter, that has hidden speakers playing meditation music as you drift away. The staff is amazing and doing their best to offer the Thailand hospitality we have comes to expect. Perfect for a night or two and even better if your into natural landscapes and animal watching. We will return again for certain. Thank You Maritime Spa.
Positive: Beautiful grounds with big pool and a pond. Friendly front desk. Negative: this place would have been great 15 years ago. Unfortunately little maintenance or upkeep has been done. Everything is falling apart. Things are literally taped together in our room. Furniture has never been replaced. Creepy big and empty, even during the high season.
This hotel was a huge disappointment while travelling around Thailand. It can be seen that it was a wow hotel many years ago and could have a huge potential if some investment was made into outdated facilities. We were welcomed with the fact that my booking did not come through and that there was something wrong with their system. In the morning, the breakfast was not that tasty and full of ants. The rooms were very very bad - mold all over the bathroom as well as our friend's bathroom - absolutely disgusting the shower curtain - I have not seen anything worse before on my travels. Very outdated furniture with scary pictures on the walls - almost had nightmares. The balcony was in bad conditions too. In general, this hotel is falling apart and nobody does anything. No surprise there were no Europeans in the hotel but only Asian guests - and probably for stopover only. One good thing is that they offer a shuttle bus to the city center for free, but their taxi services are overpriced. Staff was very nice and friendly. Another disappointment was when I accidentally left my purse in the hotel - it always took ages to get some answer back from someone called Yupa and in the end it took them more than a week to send my purse to Bangkok even though I have informed them about my period of stay in the hotel so unfortunately I was already out of the country when it arrived. I stayed there 2 nights and would never come back.
Booking at this hotel was originally for four nights but we checked out after two due to poor service and facilities. On arrival to this hotel staff appeared quite friendly meeting us and taking our luggage. Check in however was the opposite staff appeared unfriendly and not very helpful. We had arranged for an extra bed in one of the rooms as we had a child in our family and this had not been arranged all they could advise was that the child who is 8 years old would have to share one of the beds ! Room was very old looking and needed attention Breakfast was poor ants all over the tables staff unfriendly and did not speak. A group of staff stood around talking to each other not even acknowledging the guests. Large swimming pool but no pool bar did not look like this had been used for years. Outside toilets around pool area very dirty bins overspilling with rubbish. Did not feel comfortable at this hotel very strange atmosphere here, music playing all day in the background not sure why as during the two days we were here we hardly saw any other guests. Tried to get a drink from the reception bar area no one in attendance !!!! The only plus side to this hotel was the grounds it was set in No way is this a four star hotel as rated. Would not recommend Jack United Kingdom January 2017
Spent three nights in a suite this winter. We were here with a few friends in multiple rooms. The hotel is kids friendly and accessible by wheelchair. Overall the location is very nice in a huge area around a small lake you can go and paddle agound. The hotel mainly seems to cater to short term tourist bus groups from China and Russia. Even through the hotel has its charm, everything is old, run down and desperately needs rennovation! The price is acceptable though. For food I'd suggest though to go into town. The hotel seems to run on absolutely minimal staff requirements. Pool bar, spa and other facilities are physically present, but essentially shut down. If you are looking for a peaceful hotel in a nice surrounding and do not care about its state it is a nice place to go to.
Stayed one night due a flight delay, the surroundings are astonishing, a nice and pretty jungle, great view and big swimming pool, but the place is old, the room was smelly and with lots of maintenance to be done. It's cheap, so you get what you pay for.
