Spacious room, clean and up to date decor. Can be a little noisy but location is very central to all the attractions ant Cheweng Beach. The staff were wonderful especially Xiang Xiang on reception. Had a problem with the shower head and she organized to have it replaced within an hour! Gym costs a daily charge and is overstocked so can be a bit difficult to work out in but all equipment is kept clean.

If I had known what I was getting into - this would have been a nice place to stay... but I didn't. I had hoped for a relaxing stay but the hotel is on the flight pattern for the airport so planes landing every 15 minutes or so from 6:15 am to 10 pm... and then there was the loud dueling bars close by that play live music until 3 am. All that would have been fine but because this was the worst place for a relaxing solo stay, when I told the team at the hotel about the problem, they refused to help me in any way. So sorry you booked for 12 days - too bad, so sad. Nothing but blank looks and mean nasty notes from the staff behind the scenes. It was so bad I left for several days and paid for accomodations elsewhere. Hotels.com felt bad and gave me some subsidy which I sincerely appreciated. So all said, nice place if you know what you are buying into. Terrible for the person looking for a calm quiet vacation. (and now I know better that this part of Koh Samui isn't calm nor quiet).

This was one of the BEST hotel experiences I had in Thailand. The only drawback is a.little noise into the night from the neighboring party bars, but it didn't bother me.much. I loved the elevated platform bed. They did not skimp like other hotels and I had new clean sheets everyday, felt luxurious. The room had absolutely everything I needed and a welll sized balcony. The highlight of the property was the resort facilities. Their beach side is one of the nicest. The grounds were so highly maintained, I questioned how I could be paying so little for my room. They had a wonderful massage place right next door and it was the best prices around. They had a massive lobby space at Chaweng Beach Resort which was wonderful as a co-working space. The adjacent coffee shop and convenience store were the best. Everything was cheap compared to all other places on the street. And the cafes were too notch! Can be so hard to find a good cafe yet this hotel had one connected to it. I would not only stay here again, I would stay here long-term, for a month, and post my obituary that "I've died and gone to Hotel J4 in Koh Samui".

Excellent choice of hotel!

Positive : We enjoyed every moment while staying at J4 for a week. The staff are lovely, alway smiling and helpful, especially at the front desk. Room: Large bed, comfortable and clean. The shower room is perfect! Overall, everything is up to standard. You can get free access to the facilities of the Chaweng garden hotel (twin hotel) - like sun beds in front the beach (stunning sea view), the swimming pool, the beautiful garden and the breakfast area. At night, the front beach has a nice and cheap sea food buffet, and the dipping sauce is delicious - especially the French sauce. The cocktail bar is 5-8 pm. They have a happy hour price, just 150 bht / drink. Location: quite a noisy area, however you have a variety of restaurants and you can find the cheap food at Central Samui - try the Pad Thai at the food court, it’s delicious and just 130 baht, a lot cheaper than in restaurants. A negative was once we arrived, there wasn’t a bell boy to help move our bags. The staff who are at the front desk said that they were busy, so we had to carry our bags up to Level 3. We were tired from 14 hours of travel by Coach and Ferry… so… Additionally, another negative issue is the noise from neighbouring clubs which obviously isn’t J4s fault! They played loud music and created a party environment from 12pm till late at night. Luckily, the noise is quieter once the bathroom door is shut. Thus, J4 is a value of money choice and made our holiday far more perfect! Recommended!
