I've stayed here twice before but that was pre 2010, but the hotel is pretty much the same, friendly staff, quiet enough, less than 5 min walk to the beach, choice of bars and restaurants within 5 min walk. Overall 4.5/5.

This was one of my favourite places to stay. Not only did the hotel/room have everything I needed, but the staff were wonderful! They were super accommodating - greeted me for a late check in, did the daily cleaning around when I was in/out of the room, arranged taxi for me etc, they were very friendly and even cared for my wellbeing! I was very sad to leave, and if/when I return to Lamai, this will be the place I stay! Thankyou so much, for everything :)

Wonderful small hotel, highly recommended

The place is a wonderful little getaway from the strip of lamai. Owner is extremely helpful, kind and friendly. Cleaner is good always on. Top of things. Room wise, clean, comfortable yet it can get a little hot without the air con on. Pool, lovely for a dip or a swim. For the price, I think it's a true gem and I recommend many people to visit.

Great, budget friendly hotel.

The hotel was lovely and clean and equipped with good air con, a fridge, kettle, tea and coffee and a tv with good (western) channels. Enjoyed the pool although not always enough sun longers...people tended to leave their towels on them to claim them which felt very unfair given that there was only 4- I wonder if the staff could do more to manage this? No major concerns though and we loved our stay.

great little hotel,good location exactly 5 min walk to lamai beach,bars and restaurants. the owner Jimmy and his staff ye and win were great, they were there when I needed anything and kept the hotel and rooms clean and tidy and were quick to help if i had any needs. I will be returning next year and have no desire to stay at any of the other good hotels in Lamai.

Close to bars and beach

Only few minutes walk to bars and resturants, 5 mins to beach. No noise from bars Nice pool. Only problem is TV which is notvreliable as it relies on the internet

Great pool very clean , had a great stay over all.

Lovely hotel. The staff weren’t great but helped when needed. Lovely pool and just around the corner from everything we needed. The only bad thing was that the shower was dated and wasn’t very powerful and the heater was tempermental but got it working okay each time.

The room was not just dirty but filthy. With a spider net in a corner with a spider. Stains on the wall and dust on surfaces.

we stayed at Hathai 3 nights out of 6 we have booked in advanced. the only good thing we find at this hotel is its location which is 5 min walk from the main street of Lamai. the room is really basic and in bad shape. we were first on 3rd floor and we couldnt shower as the water current was very very low. we told the reception on 1st day we want to cancell the reservation as its not looks like in the pictures and we cant even shower normally,the manager didnt accepted. they mooved us to 2nd floor (no elevator by the way) were the room looked exactly the same. at least the water there was ok. pool is very small as well. i wouldnt recommend this hotel if you look for something a bit better than really really basic.

Very Enjoyable Stay

We enjoyed our stay at the Hathai House Resort. The hotel is located about a 5min walk to the main street where all the action is, which is ideal for us as it meant none of the noise from the bars reached us. The rooms very clean and tidy and were big enough not to feel too cramped. The only downside to the rooms is the internet was a bit slow -- perfect for emails and general browsing but good luck uploading/downloading files above 2mb. The staff were friendly and hospitable. Oh the pool is really small so its maybe good for a dip but thats about it. All in all a pleasant stay for a decent price.
