Room smelled stale and of smoke, can't open the windows so had to put up with air freshener which didn't really work. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was very small and we were unable to move without banging the sides or cealing. Location was excellent.
Hotel is extremely well located right next to Ikuta Jinja and Tokyu Hands , no more than a 10 minute walk from Sannomiya station. Check in process was fine with friendly staff. My main disappointment was the lingering smell of cigarettes in my non smoking room. Breakfast is served in a restaurant on the ground floor and was very average.
Pros -Good location, few mins walk to important metro and train station -Spacious room -Very fast internet Cons - breakfast in italian restaurant is really, really bad - Windows are not the most insulated, so you can hear a little bit of street noise
good location, economic choice, will choose again if I have chance to visit kobe again. because I stayed in several hotels in this trip, actually I don't really remember the nature of this hotel, but it is worthwhile anyway.
My family chose to revisit Kobe and stay at The B Hotel. Its location is convenient, suroounded by Lawson Family Mart, Don Qihote, and Tokyu Hands. The hotel provides frre ice and 200 yen laundry. The room is clean and the rest room amenities is modern and well kept. A happy stay is judged by the cleanliness of the bed from the look, smell and touch. I have a very good night sleep and that is meant a lot for the traveller.
Nice location just not far away the Sannomiya Station, after arriving the station from the portline from the kobe airport, you just need to walk less than 10 minutes and you will discover the signboard of the hotel. Large room space for my family which were two adults and one kid (9 years old), the two bed are twin size (120cm/each), also large enough for my family~ Clean and quiet hotel even we live a room just closed to the road, convenient to find foods.
Let me start off with all the usual compliments. Good price and great location. Breakfast was good. The room was small but I was expecting this. What I was not expecting was the unusually very warm room and the air-con in the room when turn on only pumped out even hotter air! Also the window could not be opened to let in the nice cool winter air. Even the elevator was cooler! What a joke! There we were in December sweating it out in room. We were booked for 4 nights but I could not sleep and check out first thing the next morning. Luckily I managed to get another great deal at a 5-star hotel at 4am and had a good holiday in Kobe. I sincerely hope the management could look into this and perhaps even save money by cutting down the heating cost.
It was a great hotel, given our budget. Staff were a bit business-like, but that's alright. I'd prefer that over fake warmth. Room was clean, properly serviced, and beds and toilets were super comfortable. Kobe city was also nice. Herbal garden is a must see, we also went on a short cruise which was quite nice.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Room is new and clean. Well designed and spacious toilet. Room is a bit tight for 3 pax. Breakfast spread is good. Walking distance to station and shops. Will stay again!
The B is represents a new breed of hotels in Japan having low cost, decent accommodation and free breakfast. Based on good experience of another Th b, the Ochanomizu Tokyo, I was expected scimitar quality. The reception staff is quite bureaucratic and make clear no early check inn( even if there is a available room ) is not allowed. The room itself is not big but the lavatory, really tiny and uncomfortable. The lavatory is basically a plastic or fiberglass made all in one box-room where you need to squeeze yourself to take shower. The WiFi in some rooms operate only with Ethernet cable then iPad and tablet users will be in trouble. But this happens in many hotels in Japan especially outside Tokyo. Beside the room size the worst experience is the Breakfast. In spite of sound advertisement about variety, freshness and quality what you see is a buffet that resembles some messy restaurant kitchen. The bad humor of the cook and the attending staff is visible and many items are constantly running in short or empty, like grilled sausage or fruits. Bread option is very limited, only the typical Japanese bread(shoku pan), fluffy and full of sugar. Don't even think about French bread, it is not part of their menu. The worst thing , however, is the messy environment with very low cleanses and hygiene. For the same price you will found other options near by. The only noteworthy facility is the self service espresso machine in the reception, but sometime it is out of service due to lack of maintenance.
