I have always loved Marriott, stayed in many and am a rewards member. We were planning on staying here on a trip west. This time we're travelling with our 13 lb dog. I was about to book when I noticed the pet fee on their website, $100.00 non-refundable pet fee on a one night $87.00 room. I guess we'll be staying elsewhere. Yes, technically they allow pets but it will cost you more than your room.
Marriott Platinum Elite Pros: upgraded to 2 bedroom of top floor (4) by Kadeem (sp?) Originally on 3rd floor but immediately heard floor squeaking when 4th floor occupant came in room so got moved to top floor Clean unit 2 separate bedrooms w/ doors that close. #3 tvs Close to very busy highway but did not have sleep interrupted. There are frequent sirens bc close to UT medical center. Ate in room and did NOT eat breakfast Friendly staff especially front desk Pet friendly CONS: kitchen sparsely furnished if doing a long term stay. Clean dishes still in dishwasher on arrival Hallways are narrow and elevator small. 2 bedroom units share 1 bathroom vs. Residence Inn 2 bedrooms have own full bathroom and are much larger. Good stay for a single night. I had 2 nights booked and management did not charge for leaving 1 day early.
Our family had to evacuate Florida due the hurricane and we stayed at the Townplace Suites since they are pet friendly. We have two dogs. The accommodations were great, but what truly stood out was the staff! I stay at Marriott properties about 175 days our of the year and the staff at this property is outstanding! Jennifer always had a smiling face and encouragement during a time we did not know if we would have a home to go back to, Joe was so helpful in giving us ideas on how to make the best of the great city of Knoxville, Travis always asked concerning our needs while demonstrating great customer service, and Jason went above and beyond to help us with our dead car battery. Great stay and great staff!
My wife and I stayed here going too and coming back on our trip to Michigan for the holidays. This hotel was recently renovated and was was very nice! The staff all seemed very friendly and helpful, however on both stays they did not give me the welcome package (trail mix and water). The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The only issue is the location; very close to the main roads on both sides. Also, the last time I stayed there I asked for a quiet room away from the elevator, ice machine, and on a high floor. The staff did great on that but my room overlooked a car dealership and the lights from the dealership kept the room very bright even with the curtains closed. All in all, a great value for over night stays while passing through!
I spent two different nights at this hotel in December 2017. I took a long road trip. I stayed in this hotel going and returning to home. The hotel was pleasant. Staff members were friendly and happy. The hotel was clean. It is not a luxury hotel. But it safe, clean, friendly, and excellent for a short stay. I think that this hotel is actually a budget hotel. It is convenient to access from the interstate. So when I take my road trips, it is easy to find this hotel. I categorize this hotel as a budget hotel. But it offers comforts that go beyond what a budget hotel offers.
Since our last stay in November 2015, the hotel has undergone a remodel and updates. The breakfast area is much nicer with a better selection of food. The rooms have new furniture. The lobby is nicer. The manager was very friendly and welcoming. This is an excellent and affordable place to stay when visiting Knoxville. We plan to stay here again in November of this year.
Great Staff; Great Value; and Convenient t location, including a fully equipped kitchen. On top of all that: they offer complimentary full breakfast with all options. Simply cannot beat this one, my friends. Give it a try next trip to K Town!!
We, two couples, arrived late for the weekend stay, but that was no problem. Check in was a breeze. I must start with every single employee each of us encountered was THE BEST! From check in, to requesting a different room (personal reasons), to needing more blankets in the middle of the night (spouse wants to sleep in an ice box), to replacing the empty coffee urn, to requesting channel change in the dining room, EVERY encounter was if they personally knew us. Each of made this same comment multiple times. It's been a while since every staff person was so hospitable! The rooms were clean and fresh. The breakfast was more than I expected, I didn't think there'd be waffles or peanut butter for toast! Definitely staying here on my next return! And it's very close proximity to many restaurants. Oh I will mention the AC unit on the outside was quiet loud when it came on during the night, it did wake me up a time or two. But next visit, I'll ask for the other side of the hotel.
I've stay at the hotel a few times the past couple of years for business. Hotel was recently renovated. Rooms have new furniture, carpet, cabinets, appliances, etc. Hot breakfast in the morning. Most notably, the staff are very helpful and professional. Good value. Recommend for business or leisure.
The staff is nice here and it is pet friendly, although I travel without them. The room was small but packed with everything you need - fridge, ironing board, toaster, closets etc. Here is the complaint - someone was cooking something or had food brought in close to my room that smelled awful and left a lingering foul smell in my room all night. This place is obviously a family stay property but I dont think I will stay here again. The people at the outside pool were partying and loud. A little on the trashy side to want to stay here solo.
