The staff was super friendly and my room was clean. The hotel appeared to be older, no ice machine for the guests. The rate was reasonable. Overall, the rooms reminded me of a holiday inn express except they added a kitchen. Most Marriotts have a plush feel but this one had an average efficiency feel. First time at residence inn so this may be the norm. Parking lot was not well lit and they only had 3 carts for luggage. Good fit if you’re looking for a valued, average stay.
Due to water damage to our home, my wife and I were forced to relocate to a hotel all repairs were being done. The management and employees at this facility made our stay a true pleasure to be away from home, we really did not want to leave. They did everything humanly possible to make our stay as comfortable, convenient and home like as anyone has. Hannah, Angie Berry, Mark and others went above and beyond what most Hotel employees would ever do. Thanks to all for making our time there memorable and more than just a hotel stay.
Great hotel, friendly staff. One bedroom suites was a perfect size for our family, breakfast area was flowing nicely and had enough space for everyone. Easy drive to UT and Neyland Stadium and downtown Knoxville.
We have been here before and we’ll be back. All the staff are very friendly and the AGM Angie goes way out of her way to accommodate any request to make you really feel appreciated. They served supper the day we were there: Pepsi, D. Pepsi, beer, hot dogs, baked beans, chili, potato salad, coleslaw, Romaine lettuce salad, potato chips. Their breakfast is quite good as well: all the usuals + apples, bananas, cantaloupe, pineapple, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, potato, boiled eggs, Greek yogurt, oatmeal with lots of fixins to add to it. There is plenty of shopping nearby plus restaurants. They are going to be renovating the hotel starting in Dec so we will be quite interested in seeing the new look when we come back on our next trip through TN.
Our daughter from Scotland was in Knoxville working in a medical clinic for a few weeks and we needed a place to stay for her, her 17 month old daughter, my wife and myself. Because of a recent good experience at the Residence Inn in El Segundo CA we decided to try the Residence Inn in Knoxville. It proved to be a wise move. They took such good care of us for 3 weeks, we almost didn’t want to go home. (At home, I don’t get freshly baked cookies every evening!k) I really cannot recommend this location highly enough. Any need we had was met, and even some we didn’t have were met. The staff was so kind and friendly, and I don’t know if it was contagious or what, but the other guests were all very friendly as well. It is well located for many great restaurants, a Kroger grocery store just a short distance away and just a couple of blocks from Kingston Pike that will get you anywhere you need to go in Knoxville. Did I mention the mall was pretty close? On selected nights of the week, Hannah will have something good for you to eat and she will make sure you have plenty of it. I would actually go back just for the cookies, but it’s a bit of a drive. I really think they would have babysat our little one had we asked. We were needing a place for 3 weeks, and I looked first online and did not find vacancies anywhere for the time required. I’m sure part of the reason was UT football, but I called the hotel direct and they were able to accommodate us. So, if it looks like everything is booked up online, give them a call direct. A great time was had by all.
Very nice hotel! Room was large, clean and up to date! Went out late the night we stayed and when we came back in through the lobby the desk clerk asked us if we had a nice time and offered a late check-out to us. Great service, wish I could remember the man's name that was so nice to us.
We happened to be in the area during the eclipse. Prior to the event we tried to rent a room for 2 nights- every other location close to the Residence was much more expensive. Was a blessing as this location was great. Angie and Oz at the front desk were outstanding & they put us in the greatest quiet location. The gal who takes care of the evening food- think her name was Hannah is another standout for great service. Brat night was terrific. We had a 1 bedroom and unlike other comments our room was very clean and nice. Would stay there again when in the area.
Residence Inn – Cedar Grove – Knoxville, Tn. Used mobile check in and sent a note requesting a ground floor unit. Marriott is making such a big deal out of mobile check-in, so I expected a timely response. Instead, it took 3 hours to get a message about “technical difficulties”. In the meantime I had called and the request was very quickly granted. Room was nice, but I believe this property is due on the “refresh/remodel” list pretty soon. Nothing serious, just showing some wear and tear. Dishwasher was covered with fingerprints so it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Breakfast was the high point. We are very familiar with Marriott properties and RI in particular, and overall this was one of the best breakfasts offered. Good selection, fresh fruit, well-managed.
Stayed here for 5 days, four nights with the family. Although the hotel is dated and could stand a remodel, the room was clean and cleaned everyday. We took advantage of the complimentary breakfast and it was adequate but have had better at other hotels/chains. The wifi met our needs and were able to keep up with the kids' needs. The pool was nice and maintained albeit somewhat small but we enjoyed it with the kids. Overall a good hotel for our family and I recommend it.
I was in the area recently with my family to checkout the tourist sites in the area on our annual vacation. My room was facing the highway, I-40, at night that became quite noisy with from the traffic. Housekeeping needs to up its game. I found utensils, pots and plates unclean when we checked in. Complementary breakfast was OK nothing to wow about. As per location, this Property is close to shopping and restaurants. The Queen size Bed was way smaller than a true queen size and the mattress was not very comfortable
