We happened to be in the area during the eclipse. Prior to the event we tried to rent a room for 2 nights- every other location close to the Residence was much more expensive. Was a blessing as this location was great. Angie and Oz at the front desk were outstanding & they put us in the greatest quiet location. The gal who takes care of the evening food- think her name was Hannah is another standout for great service. Brat night was terrific. We had a 1 bedroom and unlike other comments our room was very clean and nice. Would stay there again when in the area.
Residence Inn – Cedar Grove – Knoxville, Tn. Used mobile check in and sent a note requesting a ground floor unit. Marriott is making such a big deal out of mobile check-in, so I expected a timely response. Instead, it took 3 hours to get a message about “technical difficulties”. In the meantime I had called and the request was very quickly granted. Room was nice, but I believe this property is due on the “refresh/remodel” list pretty soon. Nothing serious, just showing some wear and tear. Dishwasher was covered with fingerprints so it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Breakfast was the high point. We are very familiar with Marriott properties and RI in particular, and overall this was one of the best breakfasts offered. Good selection, fresh fruit, well-managed.
Stayed here for 5 days, four nights with the family. Although the hotel is dated and could stand a remodel, the room was clean and cleaned everyday. We took advantage of the complimentary breakfast and it was adequate but have had better at other hotels/chains. The wifi met our needs and were able to keep up with the kids' needs. The pool was nice and maintained albeit somewhat small but we enjoyed it with the kids. Overall a good hotel for our family and I recommend it.
I was in the area recently with my family to checkout the tourist sites in the area on our annual vacation. My room was facing the highway, I-40, at night that became quite noisy with from the traffic. Housekeeping needs to up its game. I found utensils, pots and plates unclean when we checked in. Complementary breakfast was OK nothing to wow about. As per location, this Property is close to shopping and restaurants. The Queen size Bed was way smaller than a true queen size and the mattress was not very comfortable
This is a really great hotel. It is located between Chattanooga and Gatlinburg with easy access to the highways. There are several restaurants within easy walking distance and many more in a 15 minute drive, including a Walmart for shopping. The room was a one bedroom and it was big and comfy. The house keeper Tammy located us firmer pillows and was concerned enough that she asked later if we were sleeping better. Thank you Tammy! It is an older hotel judging by the decor and the minor wear. It is very well maintained, other than the outside trash can became overflowing and to get inside you had to walk by it. A new coat of paint and some color changes and it would be ready to go for many more years. The only other comment that I have, is that the kitchen counter was almost chest high on me being short and the bathroom counter was lower than my waist.
This place is relatively new with good rooms but the 2 room suites are on the expressway side. A little too much noise for me. The gym is too small and many weights were missing. Clean and easy access to all shopping. If u want U T related stuff this is a fine place.
There are (3) Marriott hotels right here. Courtyard, Townplace Suites and the Residence Inn. I think the Residence offers the bigger, better rooms for the money. Good clean easy to find and access expressway. Make sure to ask for room NOT facing the expressway. Gets kind of noisy.
The hotel looks the same as it did 17 years ago when I stayed there last. The room had wet carpet near the A/C, the carpet was coming up in areas and there was hair in the bath tub upon arrival. I'm a Marriott loyalist (Platinum member) and it is the first time I left to find another hotel after checking in. The staff was very friendly and apologized and I have no complaints with them at all. I appreciate the way the handled the situation.
I stayed here this week for business. Each night they had a themed snack/desert in the lobby seating area. Free draft beer, smoked sausage one night, smores the next. I was actually happy to see that they did something each night to encourage the visitors to meet and have a snack. If that is your thing, it is a nice perk. Nice place.
We stopped in after a long day at work and four hours on the road. Had a great night's sleep in the quiet comfortable room. The beds are just the right firmness and the AC didn't keep us awake all night like some others have. This hotel definitely meets the Marriott mark for service!
