We saw an old review by 'Meg M', so we were a little suspect about the place - even though a manager argued about every she said. There are two buildings on this property - a big multiple storied building, and an old one-story motel in the back. I'm guessing that Meg M was talking about the motel in the back. That's were we were placed. It is dingy, Earth-colours, and aged. My wife refused to stay - she got back in the car, and sat there. The manager did give us a refund, which was nice. But he can't have been shocked by our reaction to seeing the room. Maybe the main building is a lot nicer?

That’s all you’ll hear at this hotel. We stayed for 3 nights and did not sleep for any of them. The constant slamming of doors night and day. Fix the mechanisms please!! It’s awful!! The roar of the main road (which is no more than 200 meters away) from the window. The wifi does not work so if you’re trying to kill time whilst not sleeping, be ready to run out your data plan.

We just returned from a two-night stay at this hotel. While this hotel is definitely 'older', it is obvious that great effort has been put into updating the interior (lobby, halls, guest-rooms, etc). The guest rooms are clean, with updates (flat screens, new carpet, reno'd bathrooms, etc) and each offer a balcony/deck. The attached restaurant is quite good with a nice variety of food. However, there is no option to charge back to your room, so make sure you take your wallet. This location is also noteworthy as it is within walking distance of Chapters bookstore, Marble Slab, Farm Boy grocer, etc. My only negative comment to this hotel would be the front desk staff. With the exception of the gentleman who checked us in, we found the front-desk staff to be unhelpful and generally unconcerned about guest satisfaction. We were initially placed on the first floor (near the pool - as per my request) but our neighbors (adjoining room) were blasting loud music, running back and forth in the halls to/from the pool, and generally overtaking that wing. It was disruptive to sleep. The gentleman working front desk afternoon shift (Feb 4th) stated: "there is little I can do except move you". This was fine with me, but I found it surprising they weren't going to approach the loud room first. We were moved to the 4th floor (much quieter!). Later on, the guest Wifi stopped working. When the person working the early morning shift on Feb. 5th was notified by phone that the wifi password was appearing as 'incorrect', his response was "Well it works down here so not sure what your issue is". Not helpful. Other people noted that wifi was no longer working as well as a few of us were standing down by the elevator trying to get a signal. When we went downstairs to the restaurant, wifi began working again. So apparently it cuts/in out depending on the floor. If you run into issues, don't expect front desk to be particularly helpful about it. Overall, I rate this an average hotel. Rooms are nice. Wifi can be improved. Customer service of front desk staff could be improved upon as well. I would likely stay here again given the location.

We stayed at the Kingston Travelodge for New Year's Eve. The hotel was very clean, quiet and extremely affordable (especially for a peak night). The room was a little small but was ample enough for us for one night. There was a small fridge in the room; apparently you can request rooms with microwave ovens. The pool, hot tub and sauna were extremely nice- especially on a night when it was -30F. The sauna is usually off and takes about an hour to heat up so one should plan accordingly. There is a nice restaurant attached. A bit pricey if you are looking to feed a family but there are decent restaurants very close by. The hotel is a couple minute drive from downtown and conveniently located off the 401. The price is what makes this five stars. Definitely a bargain!

The hotel is great, the restaurant here has great food, the rooms are clean, great pool, but the front end staff working during the day are rude. They really don't understand the concept of customer service and have made us feel like we are a nuisance. Somebody needs to tell them that they need mats in their front lobby, the housekeeping staff has to constantly mop up the slush and there is one teeny tiny entrance mat. Maybe someone should take a trip to Costco and spend the $12 to keep people from slipping in the winter?!?!

Rooms were nice. Staff was great. I gave it a 3 star due to there was not hot water in the morning for a shower. Also if staying on the first floor, there is a few stairs to your lobby. You can't get the luggage dolly down to your rooms to bring all your stuff to your rooms.

This was a handy place to stay while we were there. The room was comfortable and adequate for 3 people. The pool was good to de-stress after a long flight in and busy days there. The restaurant provided good breakfasts and the wait was not long to get in and be fed.

I use this hotel as a stop-over for all of my business trips between Montreal and Toronto. During my first stay, which was years ago now, I had the sincere pleasure of meeting Fred, the front desk manager. Having worked in public relations at a four-star Montreal hotel for three years, I think I'm qualified to recognize thoroughly excellent service when I have the rare pleasure of encountering it. From moment one (and for four years of trips now) Fred has outdone himself in his dedication to enriching the experiences of Travelodge clientele by working diligently, creatively and professionally to solve problems, alleviate stress and generally leave his guests with a smile on their faces. It's taken me four years to get around to this review, but it is indeed one that is well-deserved. Fred is a true ambassador of the Travelodge brand, and this customer keeps returning because of Fred's clear commitment to excellence.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights, and found it to be mediocre. The bedsheets provided to us were dirty, the hair dryer didn't work, and the toilet flush was problematic ... We will not be coming back!
