Check in was a breeze, which was so appreciated after driving all day in a heavy snow storm. The room was clean and had all the amenities that you would expect to find in an establishment of this type. The bonus when entering the room, is that it was not freezing cold like some other places I have stayed in winter time! The bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet! The complimentary breakfast was also a bonus, as we didn't have to go and search for a restaurant before heading back on the road. All in All I was impressed!
Average for cleanliness. Bag of dirty sheets left on bed by maid. Breakfast only at 8 and we had to leave earlier. Missing cork for bath. Only a few towels. Pay a little more go elsewhere. Heating unit is very basic: too was after a couple of hours and impossible to really control heat.
We arrived earlier then expected so we were upgraded to a better room (for a small charge which was a little surprising) the rooms were very clean and organized. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would absolutely reccommend to others!
1 ply toilet paper not only does not help to reduce but use more from my experience. In additional, it gives me a bad impression. You are not thinking from your customer s' enjoyable to stay there.
Location is a bit isolated - eastern outskirts of Kingston at east edge of CFB Kingston...great location for RMC/Queens access - 5 to 10 minutes away. No shops or restaurants walking distance but property exceptionally well managed and clean and excellent breakfast bar. Price was great too.
Great Value. Reasonably modern and quite clean. Only a couple of minutes drive outside of downtown Kingston - better than it looks on the map.
Returned to our room late on the Saturday night of our stay to find the door left ajar by the cleaning staff. Fortunately, our belongings were safe inside, but we did have to deal with the bugs which were able to enter due to the open door. After raising my frustrations with Super 8 management, I was told that I was lier for even making the accusation that their staff left our room door open. I did request for some sort of compensation for the unfortunate doings of their staff, but they didn’t care since I booked through “Hotels.com”. With this being said, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone due to the lack of care of the employees and management’s nonexistent concern for the service they provide to their customers.
I stayed three nights, chosen for having tv, fridge and microwave. TV channels very limited and no channel that I could find to provide listings so no clue what was coming up, only what was on as I flipped through the channels/networks noted on a list provided. Streaming was so slow I could not watch online tv. Fridge was adequate size - not the mini, mini, but hasn't been defrosted all season. The Freezer was more frost and ice than open space. I was still able to refreeze my freezer packs before leaving. Room was clean and comfortable. Walls were paper thin but not a problem, except for night two when 1) I thought the occupant next door was going to come crashing through an adjoining/locked door 2) having a few friends over, they had the smelliest, stinkiest seafoody dinner. I tried putting a towel at the bottom of the door, but ended up running the air and propping my main door open for a time. I fell asleep with the t.v. on that night - hope I didn't impede their sleep, it was very late by the time I woke up and turned it off. Staff was professional. Breakfast was continental, included muffins and had options even closer to the end. I had muffin and yogourt one morning and toast/banana another. Had I been quicker to think, I would have slapped some peanut butter on that toast/banana instead of toast and jam, THEN the banana!! Budget does not mean "cheap" anymore. Maybe my age is showing but quite reasonable in any event. I usually prefer B&B's but had all my site seeing planned out and too many of these are going "boutiquey". I'll stay if/when in Kingston again. It's a lovely city with a lot to see and do
Employee was not aware of Wyndham rewards despite plentu of collateral on desktop including key wrap. Door lock broken. Dirty. Thin walls and noisy next door. Broken deak chair. Bkfst eggs tasted like rinsed dill eggs or rotten. I travel lots. Wyndham is usually good. This wasnt.
We stopped in Kingston to eat sushi at this really great place in the city (no joke!) and we picked a random hotel, this was our stop. We had just come from a race weekend, so had A LOT of dirty gear. At first, we were not thrilled with direct outdoor access as this seems to us like more of a Motelish style, but it was great for letting our clothes out to dry. When we entered the room, we were happily surprised. It was very cozy & clean. Comfortable beds and linens. Though for a long stay, the space might be a little tight. The bathroom fan was SO SO SO loud. This would need to be changed, but otherwise everything was up to standards in the room. The channel list has the name of another hotel on the top, that's a little weird - but whatever. Breakfast was included. It was delicious and easy. Cereal, toast, bagels, eggs and yogurt, which was perfect for us. And to our surprise, as waffle maker ! This filled our heart with joy after a strict nutritional weekend (racing = protein & carbs but no junk). As far as service goes, I only saw someone at check-in. They did not reconfirm our identity or check our credit cards, which I found weird as I work in hotels myself and this is a basic security standard. I would recommend it for business travelers ! It is also right beside the military base, so if you're visiting your enlisted family this works well.
