Booked through hotels. Com but was surprised to see a tax called tourism levy added to the bill. Google and it is an optional tourism tax that isn't mandatory. Disappointed in that for sure. Other than that hotel is in a good location breakfast is decent.
My Husband and I stayed at this hotel last night for business. Jodie at reception is always so nice. I checked in with a bad headache, and she was sympathetic and lovely. Breakfast is standard. Again, granola smelled ransid. The Choice Group should not buy granola in bulk. Each hotel should buy independently ensuring fresh and ready to eat. The room was upstairs, we requested ground floor but they didn't have availability. A little noisy as the ice machine was just opposite. All in all a good hotel for an overnight stay.
Over rated accommodation for the price paid. Location is convenient for travellers , however I would suggest you bypass this facility. Although we did not partake in any of its amenities I am unable to make necessary comments. Short term - overpriced.
We have stayed in quite a few hotels over the last week and this was by far the worst. We paid $179 for one night and it had no amenities. It should have been priced for under $100 IMO. We went for the 'free' breakfast at 8 am, an hour before it closed and there was nothing left to eat. The bathroom was dirty - there were red (looked like wine) splotches in the tub, and the faucets were spotty from water marks. The room had a funny smell, and even with the air conditioning on, and air circulating, the smell didn't go away the entire night. The front desk staff who checked us in seemed friendly and nice. We were thankful for the express in-room checkout so we could leave quickly.
The front desk staff don't care about you or your stay or anything. You feel like they are are barely able to lift their eyes up to greet you. The breakfast food is well.. I didn't even venture to try it. Although, the breakfast lady was nice, she should probably run the front desk. Oh, there were fruit flies in the room, we had no food with us. There are a ton of other hotels near by, spend your money elsewhere.
From the start, this was a terrible stay. The front desk person was not very friendly, and did not seem very pleased when we asked for a ground floor room. When we finally got a room, it smelled terrible! According to my kids it smelt like pickles. The room had flies and the bathroom was full of fruit flies. When we mentioned it to the front desk attendant in the morning, we were brushed off and told it was normal because it was humid outside. Terrible stay! Avoid this hotel.
I have to say the hotel was clean , the staff very nice and it's easy to find. The room was pretty clean, dirty Tim Horton's coffee cups under the bed kind of an indicator of the housekeeping staff's interest overall work ethic. I didn't bother to complain, it was late I was tired. The included breakfast was okay, the mystery egg and sausage I left for braver souls. The coffee, cereal, breads and fruit very good. I found the $179.00 a night rate for two people in a single room with a queen bed a bit high for a 2 2 1/2 star property. ( $30 of that was taxes and a resort destination fee ) . Just reminded me of why I travel more in the USA . Had a similar room in Atlanta earlier this year , also a Comfort Inn and it was just over $100 ( converted to Canadian Peso's) . In Tampa at NewYears we paid $129 US for a night with 7 days parking while we cruised. BTW this was a supposedly discounted rate.
Stayed here while we visited Kingston and took the sunset dinner cruise. The hotel was nice and clean got exactly what I reserved although after entering the room we noticed a bottle of water on the table that said enjoy but if used a charge of 2.99 would be added to your bill. LoL after paying 225 for one night stay at 2.99 charge for a bottle of water I thought was very cheesy I mean come on really. However there is lots of stuff nearby and a short drive to the gas station got a 12 pack of water for 2.99 .Was not happy to see that they let people park just anywhere stranger parked right in front of our ground floor room with the room number posted.2.99 for a bottle of water and the place doesn't have a pool or fitness center sad....
Our girls Soccer team booked in for 2 nights for a Kingston Soccer tournament. Most rooms had bed bugs. Hotel staff were sympathetic and provided refunds however were in denial despite showing them. Our complete team opted to leave and we were left without decent accommodations after a long travel as everything in a 50 km radius was booked. University of Queens were able to accommodate last minute our team with clean bug free dorm rooms.
We were two families staying in Kingston for a hockey tournament. We waited to book a hotel and by the time we did, there weren't a lot of options. I wasn't expecting much but wow, were we ever surprised! The rooms were tidy, with newer bathrooms. Excellent water pressure in the shower, great free breakfast, very friendly staff. I especially loved that the hotel is motel-style with patio doors to the parking lot. I was able to back my car right up to the room which made packing and unpacking the car super-easy. There was a large lawn across the parking lot which the kids loved for playing catch and soccer. There is also a BBQ and picnic table which was always in use and nice to have available to guests! The sofa bed wasn't the comfiest but it sufficed. The rooms are on the small side but for $98 a night, we didn't mind. The bedding was crisp and clean. We loved the fridge and microwave in each room. Overall, kudos to this hotel and their management and staff!
