We stayed one night and the room was nice. The hosts were extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. The breakfast was really lovely and nothing we asked for was too much. Would go back.Kilkee is a pretty little seaside town. We ate in hickeys which was great, and recommended by b and b hosts.
Three of us spent last Friday and Saturday in Kilkee, staying in the excellent Kilkee Town House, a comfortable, spotlessly clean hotel with very friendly and helpful staff at a quite reasonable overnight rate. We had a memorable meal in Murphy Blacks, superb Scallops and decent wine list, our enjoyment enhanced by the wit and banter of Corkman Murphy, the joint owner. We swam in the Pollock Hole no 3, which has to be the best location in Ireland for an envigorating plunge in the sea. We supped at length in pubs Scott's and The Greyhound and were lucky enough to listen to the aged but brilliant Limerick R&B group , The O Malleys in the Greyhound. Their rendition of the classic Madam George was 10 minutes of nostalgic heaven. To these 3 Corkman, our weekend in Kilkee was just brilliant. The Murray's
Stayes here recently and woke to find no running water in shower or tap. Told the owner and dismissed it totally saying the plumbet should have it fixed soon whilst giving no apology. Not good enough and improvement needed. On the otherhand beds comfortable and good breakfast.
Really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, we were given some great dinner recommendations. The rooms were exactly what we needed. Breakfast was good with a nice selection. Would highly recommend.
This place has just been renovated (I think) so a fresh bathroom, v comfy bed, nice sheets, towels etc.. It’s well placed in town. Don’t expect great sea views though. The outstanding thing is breakfast. So much choice, everything you could want, delicious cooked breakfast too. And great staff too. I’ll go back, if only for breakfast.
We arrived too early and phoned the number placed on the window for enquiries. We were called promptly back and told the correct time to book in. From book in we were treated wonderfully the two ladies that welcomed us were incredibly friendly and welcoming and we were offered a nicer room at the very top of the building (room 32) with a beautiful sea view. The room was newly refurbished and was spacious clean and comfortable. Breakfast had a comprehensive selection of fruits, cereals and a wonderful treacle walnut homemade brown bread as well as a generous hot breakfast selection. We had a great chat and laugh over breakfast and checked out before 12 much more relaxed than when we checked in. Highly recommend it.
Such a nice place to stay. Lovely welcome from a lady that checked us in, she even made a dinner reservations for us. Hotel rooms we had were very nice, homely and comfortable. Breakfast is cooked for you as from breakfast menu and buffet is also available. If I was to go back to Kilkee I would stay there again!
The hostess was very friendly and helpful with recommendations and the hotel's location was great. The breakfast was excellent with a buffet and cooked to order options. The room was clean but small especially the bathroom. We were on the top floor which required climbing a very narrow staircase. We were able to have a bit of a view and the sound of the water though.
I had a lovely 5 day stay at the Kilkee Town house. The staff team were warm and welcoming and Marie the manager was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive ensuring my stay was comfortable. I had a small double room with a tiny ensuite and a very comfortable bed which provided all the facilities needed for a short break. The house was very clean and tidy, located within easy walking distance to the beach and the breakfast was fabulous with lots of choice and a wonderful full Irish cooked to order. I hope to return
The refurbished hotel is very nice and breakfast was good. However I was not happy having recommended it to be booked by friends who booked with a deposit and were called on the day at 5:00 and told if They didn’t check in before 6 pm their deposit would be forfeited and the room would not be available. I got my son in law to go there and pay for the room in full so as to get the keys for them. The receptionist said that she finished at 6 and all rooms had to be paid in advance. Didn’t inspire confidence. What if there was an emergency or trouble in the building???? Disappointed! I wouldn’t recommend it again.
