We really enjoyed our stay here, but I remember wishing there were more reviews, so time to pay it back! PROS: Building 1 is literally across the street from the beach, has excellent views, and took 2 minutes to get to the sand. There is a great sidewalk in Kihei to walk/run for exercise in the morning, or one can walk from Kam 1 to 2 to 3 and beyond on the beach and trails. Each building had a small book swap; I traded out books several times. The landscaping is beautiful. Parking was always available and usually right by the path to our condo. Elevators worked and stairs to get to upper floors was a nice option. Plenty of restaurants and shopping within a 10-15 minutes walk in either direction. Kids enjoyed snorkeling at the Cove, I believe it's called, also within walking distance. CONS: Not much to mention. The buildings look dated, but each condo is individually furnished/updated by the owner. The pools are small, and, when we were there, had lots of kids in the afternoon (not a problem for us but may be for others seeking tranquility). The lanais seem to be on the smaller side, compared to other properties. We would stay here again and felt we had an excellent value for the price paid.
I love the Maui Vista! Stayed there plenty of times but this time there were 6 of us staying in the condo at the Maui Vista. Still had plenty of room to be very comfortable and the condo had been remodeled with beautiful fixtures. It was so nice staying there and had a great time.
This was my first time staying in an owner condo ( I.e. not resort) on vacation and was very happy with unit 3404 at Maui vista. Owners had currently upgraded with very nice furnishings, linens, beach gear. Nice beach view from fourth floor...great sunsets and lovely birds in the mature trees outside, had some minor problems (door locks, shower pressure) that were addressed expediently by the owners and their management. Had friends in unit 2305 which was also super updated and lovely - I think picking the right unit in this kind of lodging is key as we saw some really dated places that would have been a whole different vibe... Location is great...easy walk to beautiful Charlie young beach...during our visit saw a max of 30 folks on beach...bliss...and big lovely turtle swam with me day one...awesome! Common areas of resort are pristine and the advantage of this being an older resort is mature trees and landscaping. Pools are small but very clean and had one all to myself one whole afternoon. We had no bug issues but were there for one of the hottest weeks and humid on record. Our ac was ok but if you’re expecting heat ask unit by unit. We were overall surprised as east coasters the overall lack of good cooling throughout the area. Overall for the accommodation location and price I would very much recommend this property. Of course it’s unit by unit so choose accordingly. Love Maui and can’t wait to return!
These condos are privatly owned and rented out via property managements like paradise vacation inc. we have rented one for 4 nights for a fortune, the prices are way too high. As we entered the appartment there were food leftovers on the floor and long black hair allover the bathroom, so first thing i had to clean!!!! The appartment itself, was nice, good size and kitchen had all it needs, pool bit small and busy, location ok, not great. On our last day we even had a electricity outage for hours, wich impacted the aircon, tv, fridge..... when i confronted the „paradise vacation Inc.“ (we booked through expedia), they were not responding for a month!!!! Then after the 6 or 7th time asking for a refund of $ 100, which was the cleaning fee, they refused in a very rude way, making clear we were gone and they would not be interessted in making up for any inconvenience we had! Eventhough there may be other owners with better property managements, i would never return as i couldnt be sure. Sadly to say that maui experience is one i wish to noone.
Please please please! stay away from this unit. They have outdated appliances in the condo. We've had multiple maintenance issues during our 7 days stay. Refrigerator was partially broken. Washer/Dryer was very loud and noisy. Useless AC - temperature was restricted up to 72F. Bedroom is very hot. No window ventilation. Toilet tank/flush was in poor condition. We had to make in between service request to make it work properly. They blamed us for lifting the tank as if there was a hidden treasure inside it which we wanted to search for!!! It was impossible to use the toilet till the request was fixed by plumber and we had to worked it around manually. Finally massive amount from the deposit was taken away blaming us to break the toilet tank. No photo, no proofs sent to us. Also don’t use HomeAway/VRBO etc. Always use AirBnb.
No power or water all night and customer service is refusing to assist and arguing the entire island is suffering from power outage even though we can see our neighbors having power....and explained that as Maui has a "weird power grid" and told us to take a cold shower to solve all our problems.
We find the condo itself to be more than adequate. We rented a one bedroom condo that is well appointed and has all the amenities that we knew that we would need, like washer/dryer and good wifi. The view is great and the furnishings are up to date with a local touch to the décor. There is only AC in the living room to cool the entire condo, but with the ceiling fans, we have found it to be sufficient. I know that different units differ in the quality of their experience, but we stayed on the third floor of building 3 and were pleasantly surprised how nice the condo is for what we paid. We normally stay in Ka'anapali or Honokowai, but with all the road construction on that end of the island, we decided to stay in Kihei. I am not going to say that this is the nicest place that we have stayed, but honestly, it is much nicer than I expected for the rental rate. We are at the end of a 2 week stay and have been very happy with the accommodations.
bad bad air condition system. both units are on 2 hour timers and have to be reset every 2 hours during the night or it gets very uncomfortable. need to change the system. would not recommend this unit because of that, but on the other hand the condo itself was very clean and in good condition. nice stay except for the air conditioning.
The condominium is a little dated, the furniture is average, otherwise it’s okay. The condo is close to the beach and if you want to drive there is ample parking during the week, the weekend parking is crowded so get to beach early
I stayed in building 1 which is closest to Kihei Road, but also closest to the ocean. The noise from the road did not bother me as it might others. Whatever noise there might have been, it was worth it for the view from the 3rd floor. Thankfully there is an elevator to make hauling in/out luggage, groceries, beach stuff easier. The grounds are kept clean. The units are individually owned. I was happy with the one I rented from MauiRentals. The complex has easy access to Charlie Young beach that is a short walk across the street.. There is onsite self parking. Onsite Security. No front desk. Pool. Tennis Court. An ABC Store nearby as well as restaurants and snorkel rental equipment. I would stay here again. It’s a good value for the price, at least the unit I rented was.
