My wife and I recently stayed in Murphy We had originally booked for two nights but when we arrived we immediately asked for another night All I can say from the moment we arrived we were met by the most welcoming receptionist Maureen nothing was too much trouble. While dining in the bar we met Mr Murphy he was great and introduced us to his daughter who works (very hard) serving Our stay was so good we have now booked for St Patrick’s weekend and can’t wait The breakfast was great the cleanliness of the entire building was great All in all we have stayed in Killarney many times but now we don’t want to stay anywhere else Gary & Sylvia from Belfast

This little bed and breakfast is situated between the two Murphy's bars in the centre of Killarney. It's the ideal location when visiting this lovely town. The rooms are clean, the breakfasts were great and they provide excellent customer service, the only negatives were the lack of Internet in the rooms, not too much an issue, the plastic cups to drink out of (as an environmentalist this annoys me) although I've been Told this is fairly standard practice Ireland, and the room we were allocated was small, so I kept tripping over my luggage. However I'm partly to blame because I shouldn't have had so much luggage in the first place! The view out of the window was lovely, overlooking the main drag, and wasn't noisy in the least. This was a good bargain, and I recommend this place on your visit to Killarney.
We were met at reception by a wonderfully bubbly lady called Dot who made us feel right at home straight away. Her welcome was very warm and friendly and she made us feel like regular visitors even though it was first time staying there for both of us. She check us in immediately and directed us to our room. The room was clean and tastefully decorated with everything you could need for your stay. The beds were very comfortable and we both had a great night's sleep. Breakfast was the full Irish with a range of cereals, breads, fruits and juices and as much coffee as we liked. The bar staff were just as friendly as Dot so I would highly recommend Murphy's for a stay right in the middle of all that Killarney has to offer. I would definitely book here again without hesitation.
First, forget what Rick Steves says, Killarney is a great town to visit. Tour hub, many nice inns, restaurants, pubs, music, national park hiking, shopping-- and you don't even need a car. We stayed at Murphys 3 nights. Close to train/bus station. (One note--stations are next to each other, but around the block from each other--we almost missed our train to Dublin). Classy little hotel. Excellent, nice, helpful staff. Nice room, beds, bathroom. Kettle with coffee and tea in room--thanks. Nice pub downstairs with good food, music every night. Also a classy restaurant on premises, but we did not eat there. If it's raining bad, you don't need to leave the premises for a complete evening's fun. Decent price. Wifi internet, however, was almost nonexistent in room. You have to go down to lounge or front desk area to get connection. This is the only reason I take a star away. But we would stay there again if we return to Killarney.
I stayed at Murphy's for 8 nights in October 2017. My room was large, very comfortable and clean. The staff is so friendly and helpful, Mary at the front desk is a treasure! The location is fantastic: walking distance to everything in town as well as bus and train stations to take you elsewhere. The food in the restaurant is delicious and reasonably priced. The staff in the pub are all very friendly and accommodating. I have been to Ireland several times and Murphy's was the most pleasant place I have stayed. I hope that I can return to lovely Killarney one day, and when I do, I will stay at Murphy's again.
Cheap as chips Friendly as you can be Great food Freshly cooked breakfast Comfortable beds Siné I stayed here with my colleague €70 for us both with bed and breakfast , you can eat downstairs in the bar at night or in the Manor restaurant upstairs . This is the best in class modern style type B and B you will get nowadays it's actually like a hotel but with a warm and friendly B and B feeling
Stayed in Murphy’s last week with a private tour group. I found the room very comfortable and clean. We dined in the Resturant and found our meal excellent. The staff were very Resturant staff were friendly and very helpful. Even the owner Sean was on hand to make sure we were enjoying our food. They were great music in the bar which my clients enjoyed themselves. I would without any hesitation recommend Murphy’s for accommodation and food. Will be back. Thank you Sean.
We spent 1night in Killarney. The Murphy's Gesthouse is in a fantastic location right in the middle of town. Room was clean and Staff very friendly. Good, freshly made breakfast. The car park can be a problem only.
This guesthouse sits above Murphy's pub in a location conveniently located between the bus and train stations as well as the downtown area of Killarney. The room offers basic amenities including a bed, tv, water kettle and bathroom. The bed was comfy and although the pub below was quite lively the sound didn't carry up to my room (or I was simply too jet lagged to notice those two nights). Everything was comfortable and clean. The price per night was one of the higher prices during my trip around the island and didn't include any extras such as breakfast or the like. I went to the pub once but did not take advantage of the restaurant. Everyone working there with whom I interacted was quite pleasant. They were kind enough to allow me to keep my luggage there after I checked out until I needed to go to the bus station mid-afternoon.
