Stayed in a disabled room as my husband was in a leg cast, stayed in room 105. The room was lovely and spacious you could hear the noise from the road slightly but no enough to bother us. The bed was very comfy, the breakfast was brilliant you could fill up as much as you could which was great. Overall a really pleasant stay with comfort.
We stayed here for an overnight bank holiday stay to Canterbury. The rooms are quite dated and very basic but they were clean, tidy and the bed was comfortable. The staff, service and “common areas” were brilliant. Breakfast was adequate. The only negative really was that the walls appeared to be paper thin. We had a school trip in the hotel when we stayed and could continuously hear giggling next door like they were in with us. But the hotel was nice, basic, clean and perfect for an overnight stay.
Very friendly front office staff who were able to greet a number of regulars by name. The rooms and the hotel in general was extreemly clean throughout. Breakfast staff were constantly topping up the hot plates and being very efficient.
We had decided to visit the historic centre of Canterbury and this hotel is situated only 15 minutes drive from the centre. We used our SATNAV to find the hotel, but its location was not obvious from the road as it was tucked in behind a garage. We received a warm welcome at the reception desk and check-in was both swift and efficient. Our room was bright, well-cleaned and maintained, and was equipped with tea/coffee making facilities and easy to use free internet. The furnishings were adequate as were the shower and toilet facilities. Our evening meal began with the Express Sharing Platter for two, which provided rather small and overcooked pieces of meat, fish, chicken alongside sweet potato fries and garlic bread with some tasty dips; our samosas were initially omitted and arrived later; these had been cooked from frozen and were hot on the outside and icy cold inside. Following this, we chose not to proceed to the evening main meal. Our bed was spacious and comfy but our night’s rest was seriously interrupted by the noise emanating from nearby rooms containing over-exuberant foreign teenagers shouting and extending their playing into the corridors deep into the night. The bedroom walls are far from soundproofed. All was calm and quiet from about 1.30am. Breakfast was a busy affair as the hotel seemed fully booked, perhaps due to the terrible snowy weather. However, we both enjoyed a very pleasant continental start to our breakfast before sampling the scrambled eggs, cooked bacon, sausage and baked beans. Most of this was very pleasant. Unfortunately, the bacon was allowed to cook without removal of the nitrites and other preservatives that formed an unpleasant white skin across the surfaces of both sides of the bacon; this made it inedible. Overall, we think the hotel provided good value for money but is not a place we would choose to visit again.
Very pleasant stay. Staff very helpful. Originally I was suppose to stay there 2 weeks ago. Due to the bad weather we couldn’t attend. Rang the hotel to cancel, I thought I would of lost my money as I had already paid. They were happy to move my booking at no extra cost.
I found the inter connected doors to rooms a big problem, as you might as well have the people next door in your room! Walls / doors paper thin. We were put right in one corner to be surrounded by kids of about 4-6 in each room after being relocated As I had paid for two rooms and my other relations had failed to turn up otherwise the hotel wanted to charge me to move???!!! Rooms extremely basic and dated. Rooms clean and staff polite Breakfast is dreadful Hotel right on motorway and next to s petroleum station and a good 10 min drive to town centre knowing this now I would never of booked Sorry but I would not return or recommend
We stayed for 2 nights as we attended a wedding in the area. Was by far the best priced option in the area as we booked quite late. Breakfast included, free wifi, clean room, and very friendly staff. The receptionist was very friendly when she checked us in, the staff dealing with the breakfast was very friendly as well and checked constantly to make sure everything is filled up. We couldn't have asked for more.
Peroni on tap! It doesn’t get any better! Fab staff and their attention of you as a customer. Keeps saying I need to type more but for those that know. We know! Peroni on tap! It doesn’t get any better!
Stayed quiet a few times and always receive a lovely welcome, staff are friendly and also willing to go that extra mile. Room extremely clean - excellent - well done Holiday Inn Express Harbledown. Keith and Jill Rawlings
Hotel was OK with usual minor gripes on cleanliness in shower cubicle. Unfortunately, although the breakfast looked appetising the taste was not so good. Stay clear of the sausages as they are, I'm sure, 99.99% recycled cardboard. The rest of the food was reasonably good and well presented. A special word of thanks to the member of the reception staff who pointed out that my debit card may be faulty making it open to fraudsters as it was detected by the Hotel's card reader before being presented or inserted into the machine and paid the bill in full.
