A great spot to explore Canterbury. Room amenities included hot chocolate which is a lovely surprise. Toilet did not work properly. Restaurant food was amazing but not well timed. Staff were super helpful though. Lovely warm beds.
Situated on the High Street, the Abode is in an excellent location. The staff are all very friendly and professional. The food in the restaurant at dinner is exceptional - very well presented, cooked to perfection with a wide range of texture and flavours.
Dropped into the champagne bar last Friday with my husband for a quick drink as we had only 40 minutes before needing to collect our daughter. The bar was fairly quiet with 3 members of staff so we took a seat, read the menu and waited to be served. And waited. And waited. The manager ( only member of staff in a suit?) looked my way on numerous occasions but stayed put by the coffee machine. After 20 minutes a barman finally appeared and asked if we were being served. Customers who arrived 10 minutes after us had all been served. Dreadful service, won’t go back.
Great for a centre-of-Canterbury stay. Charming staff and clean comfy rooms. Lovely breakfast with all sorts of fun things to try. Reception staff were utterly charming. Thank you for the upgrade and making our stay very enjoyable.
Love this hotel. Came to pick daughter up from uni I have been to other hotels but Abode is perfectly placed, I have been before and will come again I think this is my hotel in Canterbury! The best service, staff go beyond ...
Very dissatisfied again on a return visit hot water problem not resolved although it was pointed out at check in Room and hotel very noisy Television noise very loud from adjoining room from 7am Floors very noisy not silenced
A good standard overall with good room facilities and a very good breakfast. Staff polite and helpful, cheerful too with a ready smile- makes such a difference to you feeling welcome. One or two minor niggles in room but nothing to spoil the stay. Would happily recommend and will return. The price was value for money but would not pay their Saturday rate of over £300.
We had a lovely time staying at The abode Hotel in Canterbury, we had a huge room with a huge bed, the staff were very attentive, they upgraded our room to a larger room with a large window out to the High Street. We were a bit to early to check in, however they still helped with taking our luggage. We also had tea and coffee in the room and when I asked for more they didn’t mind supplying it, the breakfast was really nice lots of selection from the buffet, fruit, pastries, cheese and ham, toast and a full English on top as well as coffee and tea and juice and cereals. The hotel is set in a great location in the centre of town, it was a quiet hotel when we stayed, however the fan in the bathroom didn’t stop all night it was a bit noisy but it didn’t stop us sleeping in a really comfy bed. We would stay again it’s a really nice hotel.
We stayed midweek and had an amazing experience, the hotel is very central and we managed to park the car in the hotel car park. The rooms are cosy and very clean and quiet. All our requests were already dealt with when we arrived. The breakfast is amazing, with eggs made to order and fantastic service. All staff were amazing and the hotel had a really welcoming homely feel.
Wow. What a wonderful experience. 3 courses for £25 and real value for money. 4 adults 2 children and a baby. The food was excellent and the service was 1st class. Each dish was explained even to the girls. There was the most delicious soup supplied as an appetiser with unusual bread and butter; all in the price. Also an extra dessert with a candle for the birthday girl. We will definitely return.
