This was a great place to stay on Kauai! I really enjoyed the tropical atmosphere of the Waikamo Streams Villas, it felt like a tropical jungle - streams running through the complex were charming and provided a delightful "white noise" to fall asleep to. There were tropical flowers blooming everywhere, and local birds in the trees. We enjoyed wrapping up our day with a glass of wine on the balcony enjoying this all. Beach and shopping access from here is quite easy as well. It's a couple of block stroll down to Poipu Beach (or you can quickly drive and park if that's your thing, they have public parking down by the Kaneiolouma Heiau) There is a nice shopping area, Kukui'ula Village Shopping Center with restaurants and boutiques, also about a block or so walk from the complex. Room: I absolutely adored the way our particular unit was decorated, the art work was of course Hawaii themed, but it was charming and sophisticated, with a number of carved wood artifacts. The bed was comfy, the rooms well appointed, and it came with all the things you need for a week in paradise (shampoo, soap, towels, beach chairs, cooking gear, plates, wine glasses, etc). Staff/Check-in: The check-in process was so easy. They recommended their app before we arrived, and had very clear and easy instructions to follow, and the app made it even easier. We didn't see any staff during our visit (didn't need to), but they were very helpful after the fact when I got home and realized I somehow left some of my stuff behind - they packed it up and sent it to me right away. Location: Kauai is quite small of an island, so most places are accessible from here. I understand that this is the drier side of the island. They predicted rain all week for our trip, but the weather ended up being quite nice, we had little rain showers but they quickly passed. Staff is nice and helpful. I will look to stay here again on my next visit to this wonderful island, and I would recommend it to others.

I’ve heard there are some good units at Waikomo Stream, but this isn’t one of those. The unit is very dark - I had to literally turn on every light in the place so I didn’t get totally depressed. The place has a musty smell, filthy carpeting, dark, heavy & dirty furniture, and a mishmash of cutlery, pots & pans, and dish ware. It’s advertised as having an outdoor grill - and there are 2, located in the pool area. Unit 501 is in the building that is the farthest away from the pool in this complex. My 1st day there, I checked them out & found 2 empty gas cylinders and no instructions on how to use them & clean them after use. If you use the grills, your food is going to be cold by the time you get out of the area & get back to your unit. Of course, you can schlep everything you need to eat to the pool area, but frankly it’s not worth the effort. And don’t forget to check the gas before you take your food over. The pool area is nice but you have to use a key to get in AND out. If there is more than 1 person in your party, this becomes a real hassle. The unit is in a decent location but that’s the only good thing about it. It needs deep cleaning, and modernizing. Oh, and it would also be helpful if they left instructions on how to use the tv & cable. It’s DEFINITELY not worth the rental cost.

Beautiful mature property with streams and ponds throughout. A shopping center with restaurants across the street and 5 min. drive to Poipu beach. We stayed in one of the back condos, a little dated and could use some repairs, as the florescent light came on 10 mins after the switch was turned on, counter top edging coming off, cabinet doors kind of shaky and microwave didn't work very well. Lots of windows and fans to get a nice cooling breeze through the condo. Only thing at night the bullfrogs and there's lots of them in the ponds start croaking all night long, just 10 feet from our bedroom windows. They make a noise like a sick mooing cow and just as loud. YouTube has some excellent examples. Which disturbed our sleep and we had to keep the all windows closed. Too bad I couldn't pair to the condo's bluetooth speaker for some white noise as earplugs didn't help much and are uncomfortable. Funny the Long's drug store across the street was sold out of the disposable plugs. Not sure if this is their peak breeding season but it's crazy. I talked to few other people around us and same complaint. I would check other reviews as there is busy fire station near by, plus a active main street that could bothersome for the front condos. Also plenty of chickens but didn't bother us much.

This place is older and a beautiful well groomed property. Condo unit #300 is clean and comfy but not a deluxe unit. No AC which would have been fine if we could have kept windows open at night. Bull frogs known in Hawaii as an invasive species are plentiful in this condo property. Every night, all night bullfrogs living on the property kept the entire condo complex awake. People who complained were told they were protected species and offered ear plugs. It would have been great if ear plugs worked. These frogs are very loud. Counted 9 of them in the water outside our door. 14 nights of no sleep is they only reason we won’t be booking here again. We travel to Hawaii every year and liked this condo but if you like sleep give it a pass

We stayed for 2 weeks in 403 and were ready to leave. The grounds are beautiful with exotic plantings and the family of herons was very entertaining. The unit is fine but cluttered with so much stuff in the closet and pantry there was little room for our clothing and food items. The deal breaker for us was the loud pump just outside the unit that runs 24/7. Bldg 3 is highly affected too. We wore ear plugs at night. The dualing blowers at the shopping center that starts at 7:00 am ruined morning coffee on our lanai. There is a lot of traffic on surrounding roads but that didn't bother us much as it quieted at night. If you like to walk to the shopping center Kukuiula this would be a good location. We didn't feel it was good value for the $$.

We stayed at Waikomo stream villas unit 300 a one bedroom, which is towards the back of the property and on ground level. It was well furnished and maintained and had a functional kitchen with pots and pans etc. the property grounds are well maintained and lush. It is driving distance to the beach and not walking distance. The only drawback is noise. During the day there is construction in a nearby unit and we heard a lot of hammering etc. during the night there are bull frogs croaking and early morning is for roosters calls. If you aren’t disturbed by the sounds of the fact that you can’t walk to the beach, then this unit and property is a good choice.

First of all my wife and I want to thank the new owners Stephanie and Amerigo for maintaining our favorite condo in all of Hawaii. It is based in an exotic atmosphere with plants, trees, bamboo area which we found inhabit parakeets in the wild. Condo is on the 2nd floor and just steps from a really pretty swimming pool with plenty of room and different types of chairs etc.for sun tanning. It has well maintained grills within this area, as well as, and in another area on the other area of the complex. Now to the beautifully appointed condo itself. Being on the end of a section, it has 3 sides which invite the breeze to flow throughout from the front to a nice lanai. There are usually bananas growing in at least one or two of the trees just beyond the lanai. The former owners refurbished everything to all brand new over the past 4 years.. All granite with 2 sinks in the newly build shower area. The washer and dryer were put in last year. The bedroom has a large king bed that is extremely comfortable. In talking to some of the other guests and residents several when they found out it was unit 223 noted they had heard it is the most comfortable bed from other people. There is a real nice dining area with a glass top table and 4 chairs. The whole kitchen has a real pretty granite facing with along with the frig, stove, and microwave were all replaced in the last 3 to 4 years. Back to the air flow in the condo there are 9 louvered windows from the bottom almost up to the ceiling which all work perfectly. There is an updated TV (probably 40" or so). There is wifi and a printer. The coach and comfy chair are also just a few years old. Now for one of our favorites is a babbling brook that helps to lull you to sleep each evening. You also hear the croaking of the frogs and leave your alarm clock at home, the chickens will call out for you each morning, There are plenty of parking spaces. It is within walking distance to the beaches, The famous Poipu Beach (we have seen munk seals and large turtles sunning in the sand many times) is a couple of miles away. There is a large shopping mall within a couple of blocks from your condo and a smaller one less than a mile in the other direction. My wife calls this our home away from home. We have spent several weeks each year for the last 7 years and have already booked for 4 weeks in 2020, This is a unit for 2 adults.

We stayed here for a week Jan 28-Feb 4, 2019. Even though our room was clean it is very dated. The pictures posted on their website are better looking than the rooms are in person. When you spend your hard-earned money to go on vacation the main goal is rest and relaxation. Our number 1 complaint is that there’s a stream/lily pad pond running through the entire property which ran right past our room. Please be advised that if you are a light sleeper do not pick rooms 300 or 320 or anything close to those as there are bullfrogs croaking ALL NIGHT LONG and they are VERY, VERY, loud. To be honest it sounds like a cow is mooing right outside of your window. The frogs start this noisy, sleep depriving business at dusk and taper off at dawn. You WILL NOT get any rest at Waikomo Stream Villa’s…please STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE! We saw a statement posted on the office bulletin board that said the frogs are protected…so they are not going away. The pool is not heated and the picture on their website is of a pool and a kiddie pool, (it’s not a hot tub.) Also, with many VRBO‘s there will be supplemental items you could use during your stay: leftover spices, aluminum foil, laundry soap, not here, so just know coming in you’ll need to purchase those types of items ahead of time if you need them. I filled out the survey The Parrish Collection sent after our stay, at the bottom it said would you like a manger to call you? I’d gladly talk to a manager about my concerns but no one has called to date so I figured they don’t care. I just wanted to make sure that those of you considering Waikomo Stream Villla’s who read the reviews had my input before you booked. Renters beware!

This was my 6th stay at Waikomo Stream Villas and the visit was excellent as always! What made it more special this time was the wonderful staff of Parrish Kauai, who I have used 4 times to book here , making me feel more welcome than ever.It is like going back home to paradise.Special thanks to Novella with her wonderful welcome hugs,Kim and Caroline for their expertise with the internet,Keanu for her friendly help and Deo,for getting me happy in the beautiful condo.. and the rest of the office staff I interacted with. Kudos to J P Parrish for his hiring such great people to run things..I will be back, Mahalo

Not oceanfront/view but a short walk to the ocean. We have stayed here multiple times. The units are spacious and the grounds are so lovely with gardens, streams, pond lilies, bullfrogs and birds. It is a very short walk to Kukui'ula Center with lots of shops and restaurants. I took off a point because of the thousands of wild parakeets that make a lot of noise at sunrise and sunset. This seems to be a problem all around Poipu. We had friends staying by the Beachhouse and it was just as bad, if not worse. Something needs to be done about them. Nonetheless, I would go back. The condos are a great value. Ours came with a washer and dryer and they are approx. 1000 sq feet for a one bedroom. The property is very well cared for.
