We had an ocean view, but it was really a pool view, with the ocean in the distance. You can't hear the waves sitting on the lanai, but you can hear the pool and others on their lanais. The beach is not a very good one. The bike path that goes down this stretch of coast doesn't pass by the beach - you have to walk a few blocks through the neighborhood to get to it. So, we were overall disappointed with our stay. The condo itself was nice, although no condiments at all, not even salt & pepper. No detergent for the washing machine, coffee for the first morning only. Everything costs extra - housekeeping (just fresh towels/trash takeout is $55), coffee, detergent, etc. all for an extra price. The Outrigger staff were nice, the concierge was helpful. The pool was very fun for children, so families would probably be happy here. No space to swim laps. I think this is better suited for families with kids, rather than couples, although there is an adult only hot tub, with a sand bottom, which was great!

Rented a VRBO and was very happy. Really nice pools and a nice beach though not great for swimming. Nice BBQ area as well as a bar and restaurant on the beach with a happy hour. Safeway across the street with a plethora of bars and eating spots within a short walk. Rooms very well appointed, quite and spacious.

Stayed at the Waipouli Beach Resort for 10 days. Stayed in E104 a one bedroom ground floor unit facing the pool. It was the first time staying in a condo always before stayed in a hotel or all inclusive resort. Overall the unit was very nice but needed some maintenance. The carpet is buckling/wrinkling in the living room. Tried the large and seemingly very nice jacuzzi tub but ran out of hot water before the tube was half full. It was nice having a full kitchen and washer/dryer. The property common areas and landscaping are well maintained. The concierge was very friendly and helpful. Everything she recommend whether free or a paid activity was very enjoyable. The property is centrally located with great access to everything on the island. It is right across the street from a Safeway and Starbucks. Also across the street is Coconut’s Fish Cafe an excellent casual low key restaurant. Get the pulled pork or fish tacos best I have ever had.

This is a very beautiful resort with a beautiful pool and a nice restaurant but be careful and select your room carefully. I thought I was getting a pool view and ended up with a parking lot view. it is well-equipped but it’s very expensive

Our April 2019 visit to Waipouli Beach Resort was fun, enjoyable, and relaxing. Our unit was managed by Kauai Calls which uses an app for online check-in and door access code, checkout and until information. Our room was ready one hour early with a parking pass waiting for us inside. We always easily found parking and the parking lot is reasonably close to all of the buildings. Upon arrival we headed straight for the pool. Before the trip, I read many disconcerting reviews regarding the attitude of the pool attendants and the towel policies. Every pool attendant we met was friendly and helpful. There are rules but they are reasonable and easy to follow. Each day you check in to receive your towels and you turn them in at the end of the day. If you plan to come to the pool multiple times in one day then you need to take the towels to your room and bring them back. It's not that hard. The pool is fun and was never crowded during the week. There are no cabanas but chairs were easy to secure. The pool varies between 3 - 4.5 feet deep and there are two slides. I also used the gym which is well equipped. There are multiple treadmills, ellipticals, balance balls and weights. It overlooks the pool area. Our unit was H403 which has an ocean view from the balcony and living room.

This location is nice, but I'm not sure we'd stay here again. It's more condo ish than a hotel with people on hand normally has. We did have a nice ground floor room near the pool which made it very easy to get in and out of that way. They use a code system for the doors which is 6 #'s long, then for the other buildings, they added on 4 more #'s and a # sign (1234#123456), so I found myself digging for the code every time I went somewhere on the property. I felt the fees a bit high for here and was disappointed at access to drinking water. Our unit only had a sink in the bathroom and other than the fitness center, had no access to fill a water bottle. The room overall was nice though, beautiful big walk in shower and comfortable bed and linens. The location is nice, across the street from a grocery store and near lots of shops. The beach isn't really a good place to swim, more of a pool resort.

Very positive experience at Waipouli Beach Resort. The condo was extremely clean and obviously well kept with well stocked kitchen for appliances, kitchen utensils and dishes. Grounds are lovely. Garden view was very pretty. Ample parking. Pool area was nice especially for families. Pool towels provided even to take to beach. Close to grocery stores, restaurants and beaches like Lydgate Park Beach. Highly recommend.

The place is good but I think we can all agree that for the price is costs per night you are expecting perfect 5 star accommodation. Our room was supposed to have a partial ocean view however if partial means you need to hang off the balcony and look as far right as possible then I’ll give you that but I expected to at least be able to see the ocean from one room! Our bathtub was disgusting, cracked and chipped with a disgusting color on the bottom I love a bath and was so excited until this completely put me off stepping in it. They charge a $225 cleaning fee but don’t clean the apartment once while you are there unless you are willing to pay another $225. The pool is great but be aware the beach is not a swimming beach. Reception staff were nice enough but when I mentioned the bath they couldn’t be less interested. Overall I would potentially consider staying again if I knew the apartment was going to be clean and in nice condition if not there are equally average places for a waaaay cheaper price.

I get it, the designers of these places don't live in it. So they do silly things like make it so there are no towel hooks or racks within reach of the shower. I'm used to quirks like that while traveling, though it does sometimes indicate lack of thought in other areas as well. Here, you do not want to stay on the top floor. The 400 level sits under the mechanical rooms. They did not sound insulate the mechanical rooms. If you are unlucky enough to get one of the 5 rooms nearest the elevator, you will have the songs of the mechanism piped through your HVAC conduits. I believe that is about a third of the rooms on that level. To escape that, we were lucky enough to be moved over a room by the management, only to have something else in the mechanical area break 2 days later. So now we have a sound comparable to an unbalanced washing machine which never finishes the spin cycle. Contact anyone in the building and they say they don't do any maintenance after 4pm. So instead of sleeping listening to the wonderful noise of the idyllic waves outside, I am writing this review. I still give it 3 stars because hopefully some of the lower units wouldn't share these issues? Plus you'll save money!

My family of 6 loved our stay in B201. Spacious, clean room exceeded our expectations. The resort grounds are immaculate and our kids loved the lazy river, water slides, beach, and koi pond. It was great being in Kapa’a which is so central to everything Kauai has to offer. We spend a day up north and a few days down south. And a few days in Kapaa. The conceierge helped us book a boat tour along the Napali coast. The resort is very upfront about the cleaning fees so I’m not sure why so many people were surprised. We would definitely come back again if we’re ever lucky enough to return to Kauai.
