This was the perfect place for our family to stay, pool perfect, dining excellent, clean room and the entire facility kept very clean. Unfortunately there was only one dining place but not far at all from outside venues. Aloha
We rented one of the condos for ourselves and our son and his family rented another. All of us were so impressed. The pool, long lazy river, water slides, and waterfalls were fun every single one of our 14 days. Our granddaughter had friends in the pool each afternoon. This resort is only about 15 or 20 minutes from the airport. Directly across the street were wonderful places to shop for groceries, eat, and get coffee. The grounds are like a botanical garden with a huge koi pond. It was so close to all of our excursions and side trips. Clean, air-conditioned, daily pool towel service, on-site restaurant, and a short walk to the beach all got our vote for doing this again
We were hoping to snorkel around the Island. This was a good central location from which we could access a variety of snorkel options. Nice resort area, nice pool w/slides for kids and young at heart. Security did a good job working to keep non-registered guests out. Resort is right on the water, but we were advised not to snorkel the water at resort due to rocks, sea urchins, eels, and squid, but other suggestions were made of where we could go, and the best times of day and tides for doing so. The resort beach area is private, so if you want to take a longer walk, then you can access the 8 mile Ke Ala Hele Makalae bike and walking Path by walking a short distance through a small 'neighborhood' right beside the resort. Onsite Concierge worked hard to help us and gave us great suggestions for things of interest to us.
We felt the grounds where kept lush and clean, never seen any trash are hazards. They had a out door pool with connected water way around the pool out door showers and restrooms. Two water slides and out door grill and Beach Restaurant. The rooms where located well with a view of the beach and ocean. Parking was ample. Plenty of lawn chairs and umbrellas. Beach and sand next to the ocean. Beach waters had way to much current flow to be safe and lava rocks just under the surface, But it was a wonderful view while sitting on the beach or at the pool are from your room. Whew..... It is centrally located on the east side of the Island a Hour drive to either end and all the attractions or close enough to make it a great choice. Grocery and restaurant and ice cream parlor across the street, and other places and shop all with in walking distance. Whew again...., walk to the beach to see morning sun rise to really enjoy take a cup of coffee and your camera. Kind of pricy you decide.
We stayed in A 107, the condo was big and very clean, came with everything you need, including beach mats, the livingroom door open practically to the beach/ocean. The pool area is huge and very nice, includes waterfall caves and 2 waterslides. Security is on site 24/7. We found kappa a little more laid back, which we liked, and very central.
We and another couple rented a VRBO unit on the top floor. The view of the lazy river pool and ocean in the background was beautiful. The beach was nice for walking but not a swimming beach. Location was great with a shopping center across the street and several restaurants withing walking distance. There is a restaurant and outside tiki bar on the property. We had drinks one afternoon which were very good but we did not try the restaurant. The pool was very clean and even as adults we enjoyed the slides and using noodles(which were available at the the pool towel area for no charge) to float along the "river". Lots of tables and chairs to sit by the pool. Be mindful that you cannot bring any food or drinks into the pool area. Bottled water was no problem but we did see where they approached people that had brought food in that was not purchased from the restaurants. the exercise room was not very large but the equipment was well maintained and clean. Great place for families and couples though honeymooners may want something more intimate than the experience here. We would stay there again.
We were in Kauai at the same time as friends were and they invited us to stay in their unused second bedroom. The unit was well decorated and spacious. We were in Building C, ground floor, garden view. The room was cleaned once a week. (Our friends were there for two weeks, but we were there for 6 days.) I thought that the unit was stingy with towels, shampoo and soap. They provided just 6 sets of towels for 4 of us. And we were allowed only 6 pool towels. Room had a washer and dryer and that was a real plus. There was an adjacent beach, however, you couldn't swim there because of a layer of lava running across it. But I think most of Kapaa is like that. Centrally located.
We had an ocean view, but it was really a pool view, with the ocean in the distance. You can't hear the waves sitting on the lanai, but you can hear the pool and others on their lanais. The beach is not a very good one. The bike path that goes down this stretch of coast doesn't pass by the beach - you have to walk a few blocks through the neighborhood to get to it. So, we were overall disappointed with our stay. The condo itself was nice, although no condiments at all, not even salt & pepper. No detergent for the washing machine, coffee for the first morning only. Everything costs extra - housekeeping (just fresh towels/trash takeout is $55), coffee, detergent, etc. all for an extra price. The Outrigger staff were nice, the concierge was helpful. The pool was very fun for children, so families would probably be happy here. No space to swim laps. I think this is better suited for families with kids, rather than couples, although there is an adult only hot tub, with a sand bottom, which was great!
Rented a VRBO and was very happy. Really nice pools and a nice beach though not great for swimming. Nice BBQ area as well as a bar and restaurant on the beach with a happy hour. Safeway across the street with a plethora of bars and eating spots within a short walk. Rooms very well appointed, quite and spacious.
Stayed at the Waipouli Beach Resort for 10 days. Stayed in E104 a one bedroom ground floor unit facing the pool. It was the first time staying in a condo always before stayed in a hotel or all inclusive resort. Overall the unit was very nice but needed some maintenance. The carpet is buckling/wrinkling in the living room. Tried the large and seemingly very nice jacuzzi tub but ran out of hot water before the tube was half full. It was nice having a full kitchen and washer/dryer. The property common areas and landscaping are well maintained. The concierge was very friendly and helpful. Everything she recommend whether free or a paid activity was very enjoyable. The property is centrally located with great access to everything on the island. It is right across the street from a Safeway and Starbucks. Also across the street is Coconut’s Fish Cafe an excellent casual low key restaurant. Get the pulled pork or fish tacos best I have ever had.
