The hotel looks very old fashion from the outside. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable but this place is nothing special. The air conditioning unit is very noisy but it blocks the street noise. You may need ear plugs. Breakfast is complementary but simple. Wifi is also free.
This is not a luxury hotel, however it is a perfectly nice hotel in a good location. Our room (#205) was quite spacious and reasonably quiet. Check in was quick and friendly. We walked into the business district of Kamloops for dinner. The breakfast was what you would expect from a hotel - they ran out of fruit, but otherwise was well stocked. I would highly recommend this hotel, especially if visiting the nearby hospital or just passing through town as we were.
Friendly and efficient check-in and out, updated and comfortable rooms (we got a free upgrade to a king bed... It was so comfortable!), and an unbeatable location. It was just a 10 minute walk to the main street in downtown Kamloops. Incredibly reasonable rates--will definitely stay again!
Just stay in this Hotel one night on the way back to Calgary from Victoria, BC. Good: - Hotel provides free breakfast, nice staff. Bad: - Many broken things in the room: hair-drier, microwave without plate.
The basics were there, but the room smelled musty and was beat up. The room did not have the microwave and fridge that we had reserved, but they did bring us one of each upon request. House cleaning and maintenance man were friendly. It was hard to beat the price, but you get what you pay for, I guess.
The price was good and the renovations are getting there. The only major complaint was that breakfast was served at 7am, but the it was not ready to go. There were often missing utensils and the pancake machine was not warmed. Getting to a meeting on time was tricky if you were waiting 15 minutes for the iron to warm up because the staff didn't turn it on until 7.
Hi my two young kids and I are travelling from Edmonton to Vancouver Island, and decided to try the Wyndham chain of properties instead of our usual Best Western. This property was on the AMA website and cost us $58 plus taxes ($67 total) for one night. Now I realize that this is quite inexpensive for a room, but I do expect cleanliness standards to be maintained regardless of the cost of the room. This property is old, very outdated, and in need of some serious renovation/maintenance/ upkeep/cleaning. For example, there were chocolate almonds and paper receipts and Kleenex remnants on the carpet, indicating that no vacuuming had been performed recently:(. Also, the toilet was not very clean. There were only two towels for the three of us, necessitating a phone call to the front desk. The property looks like it is in some stage of being renovated or updated, but the general impression is one of an old, outdated, poorly-maintained, unclean property. On the bright side, the property is very easy to find and within a very short drive of Superstore, Safeway, Save On Foods, Starbucks, Timmy's, and multiple gas stations. Will update my review after breakfast tomorrow.
What you would expect from a place like this, except that taps for the shower didn't work very well, I kept getting way to hot!
The room was clean and comfortable but every time the air exhaust was turned on the whole room filled with tobacco smell.
Needs MAJOR renovations. Mattress was TERRIBLE, fan in bathroom didn't work, noisy. Non-smoking room smelled like smoke.
