Compared to when we stayed here 3 years ago to be close to the arena the hotel has gone downhill. The beds are comfortable and it's nice to have a fridge and microwave available but there is no security in the building anymore. Last time after dark only the front door was open and the other entrances were locked. Now the locks are broken on the other doors and there were what appeared to be homeless sleeping in the hallways when we left for the arena in the morning. very uncomfortable stay. We will not be back to this hotel even thought the price is fair.
we slept good. the beds were decent. the neighborhood was a bit scary. the hotel needs fresh paint, updates and some tlc. but the staff was very friendly, helpful too. breakfast was a bit unusual. i felt safe, but i probably wont return. ill spend a little more money and get a nicer place. wifi was excellent. no issues. the tv was dim. we could not figure out how to turn up the brightness as the menu had no options on the tv. there was a microwave and fridge. experience was a bit odd, but we didnt pay much either. if you have a family, id suggest somewhere else. it was a good place to,save some money though. our experience was not bad, just not exactly what we expected.
I've been staying in this hotel for a month now paying $190 a week i ckean my own room just of tge simple fact a week after staying here oir room got broken into me abd my boyfriend belongings got stolen everything i owned basically and now were just starting from scratch had tge police check it out didn't really get anything resolved i need to see if i can get a lawsuit against them there was no force entry nothing i asked around and finally someone tild me they keft our door wide open and we're still here because there's no where else cheap to go im fed up with this place!!!
We needed a cheap place to stay that was close to the arena so this was really the only place. You definitely got what you paid for here. Bad lighting in the bathrooms, poor quality of the tv, smoky hallways, doors getting stuck. I wasn't expecting much and that's good because we didn't get much.
I am a professional who stayed at Econo Lodge for 4 nights and truly enjoyed myself. The room I had was clean and had nice décor. There was a fridge and microwave. For the price of $42 a night I was not expecting this. The front desk staff was honest. Bob returned my $50 bill when I accidently gave him an extra one. The staff was willing to get me breakfast even when I got up late and everything was already put away. I felt they were like family while I was away from home. True, the place is not in an upscale neighbourhood but I am quite familiar with the homeless population. I did not see any hookers, addicts, or smell drugs inside this motel as others talk about. I had a positive experience here.
This was by far the absolute worst most horrible place i have ever stayed in, in my entire life!!! It was nasty, unclean rooms, a/c didn't work, everything smelled horrible, the pool was torn apart uncovered filled with filth, the staff didn't know a word of English and had a homeless person sleeping on the front steps. Every time i went out to my car there were dot stickers on it and for almost $130/night was worth maybe $30/night. This place should be shut down for how many health and safety violations it had. We stayed there in the middle of July and will never go back even if paid to.
I am an engineer living in this motel since late July, 2013. I find the staff very cooperative especially the front desk associate who is very welcoming, polite and provides excellent service. The cleaning people are very responsive and clean my room every day and put fresh clean towels. The breakfast is full with cereal, muffins, coffee in a very clean area. The parking lot is large and the area is very safe. My room has a clean bed with good mattress, flat screen cable TV, fridge and microwave. Motel is noiseless and the hallways are well lighted and carpets are clean. Furniture in the rooms is comfortable and there is ample space for storage. I highly recommend this motel.
We had to stay there for a few months because we got screwed over on a house we were getting, and the rooms smell like smoke, (even though ur not suppose to smoke in there) the bedding was nasty dirty, stains on the carpet, walls, and even light fixtures, loud music til 4-5 am, drunk people falling into you're door and knocking on you're door, prostitutes was doing business in the rooms (very noticeable), drugs being dealt in the hallways & outside, people from the streets would just walk up to you're opened window & ask for drugs/alcohol/money etc, the front desk does not understand/speak english, they don't care about the complaints, there was suppose to be breakfast there but usually had NOTHING there. They had a crazy man staying there they scared people away but they didn't care. Mold in the tub, dirty nasty towels, Housekeeping never came to our door 1 time! Cops there EVERY day/night/minute!
I had a great experience with this hotel, although others clearly didn't. What I experienced was a great room with good TV, microwave, fridge, and fast WiFi. Beds were very comfy. Bathroom seemed OK, but I didn't use the shower so I can't comment on that. Price was incredibly cheap, which is what drew me. Also, it's a Choice Hotel. Security outside did seem to be an issue, but not inside. I didn't know breakfast was included, but with that price, I didn't care. The guy at the front desk handed me a bagel with cream cheese as I was walking out, which I thought was hilarious. But if I'd been expecting breakfast, I'd be pretty pissed. I'd go back there again. The price is right, and the room was a lot better than some of the Choice Hotels I've stayed at at twice the price.
When did hotels like this become such dives and $50/night is not cheap. I expect some minimum level of quality for that price and this hotel didn't have it. The only two positive things I can say about this hotel are the following... Pros: - The room is clean but I use the term "clean" loosely.. at least there were no bugs. - Accepts pets and had a patch of grass to walk dogs. Cons: - It had a fridge but it was so gross inside I didn't want to put anything in it. The microwave was functional. - The free breakfast wasn't even worth eating but the coffee was decent. - There was only a shower, no tub and there were cracked tiles everywhere. - Found a guy passed out in the hallway. - Shady people coming in and out all the time. - There was an exposed electrical outlet near the bed (no faceplate). - No garbage cans anywhere to dispose of doggie waste. - AC had two settings, off or frigid. The wall control didn't work. - Night staff friendly, day staff weren't. I would only stay at this hotel again if it was the only one available within a 30 mile radius of where I needed to be. Unfortunately you don't know what you don't know until you check-in and the booking I made was non-refundable. I went so far as to contact the city of Battle Creek regarding the safety hazard of the exposed electrical outlet and the shady wiring for the AC. :-S
