The pool is for decoration, you cant wake up to a plunge to it or go to sleep with a plunge to it. All the time is closed. The property does renovation as cowboys, zero osha compliance, a palm tree almost hit me, no “do not cross” zone tape super UNSAFE to cut a tree while you are coming into the lobby. They have their custom chek in, topple you off $20-30 for a random service.

Upon arriving at the hotel, we were informed that parking was unavailable, despite being charged $25 upfront. Consequently, we had to find alternative parking and were promised a reimbursement upon check-out. Upon receiving our room keys, we were directed to the 5th-floor elevators, which were conveniently located to the right. However, upon unloading our bags and heading to park our car, we discovered that the elevators were out of service, leaving us without any compensation and only a vague apology. Determined to proceed, we embarked on the arduous task of carrying all our luggage upstairs. Unfortunately, the keys we had received were inoperative, forcing us to return to the lobby and climb the stairs once more. Finally, we entered our room, only to be greeted by an overpowering and unpleasant odor of rotting fish. Needless to say, we previously had a much more pleasant experience at the King Kamehameha Hotel across the street. Having stayed at various accommodations in Kona, this particular hotel stands out as one that we will never choose to stay at again.

The room was nice and most of the staff were very pleasant. They have a pretty entrance and pool area. The hallways were a little bleak, only one elevator worked, and they were frequently out of clean towels. That's my only complaint.

I had booked and paid for a room with a partial ocean view. When I checked-in they said all they had were 3 rooms at the end of the hallways on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor. I took the one on the 2nd floor but it had no table and no chairs, just a bed. I went to the front desk and said I should be given the room In reserved and paid for. She gave me a different room on the 5th floor with a majestic "partial view of the ocean" and the room had a table and 2 chairs (what I had booked through Travelocity.com). I was very happy with the 2nd room. Everything was fine after that.

They moved me from the 1st room on the 2nd flóor as it had to table and no chairs and a view of the pool when I had booked a room with a partial ocean view. The new room was on a higher floor, with a table and 2 chairs AND a partial view of the ocean. I am now happy they honored the original reservation on Travelocity
