This is an old school, basic motel with a good location (.5 miles south of Kona) and right on the water. It’s low staff interaction with self check-in and no housekeeping per se. i would not want to stay here in the summer as there is no a/c. We were on the first floor so sleeping with the windows open was a little disconcerting and evenings can be noisy with loud motorcycles and base stereos coming from the street. My biggest complaint was the lack of reliable wifi which is imperative when you are trying to plan daily activities, book dinner reservations, etc. overall it is clean, with a comfortable bed and a great deal for the price - just be prepared to bring your own coffee as they only give you a single serving packet for a full size coffee machine and know you may need to head to the pool for reliable cell service.

Terrific stay. Staff was very helpful and responsive. Kitchen adequate for breakfast/lunch. Beautiful view, comfy bed, roar of the ocean, 1 mile walk to town for dinner. Couldn’t ask for more. Back in to the parking spaces, pull all the way in abd stay within the lines to make it easier for everyone!

It was perfect little room right on the ocean. Only complaint was there was no TV, but it wasn't necessary. It just perfect for a night in Kona and to be near everything. Pool is right on the ocean and you can listen to the ocean all night long. Gorgeous view. Just the getaway I was looking for.

The room was really cutely decorated to tastefully fit the tik theme, but light and bright with the focus on the water. The woods blendeds together all the tones of the outside coming in. You literally sleep with the sounds of water roaring out your window. The new manager was very kind and hospitable.

If I could live here, I would! My only issue here is that there's no AC. I get why they don't have AC, because it's right on the water and the breeze and the sound of the waves - it's all sooo good. But it's a bit rough when you're trying to get ready to go out for the night, or pack to leave. So you pack and get 95% ready, then jump in that salt water pool one last time to cool off. Honestly, it was a highlight of my trip and priced just right too!

Perfect hotel! The ocean view is gorgeous. We left our lanai doors open all night to sleep with the sound of the ocean waves. Woke up to huge surf! The room was clean and comfortable. The manager Kai is a kind and happy host. I would highly recommend Kona Tiki.
