We stayed for 4 nights and really enjoyed the location and talking with Janice. She's had the place for 20 years and has her hospitality down pat. We've always tried to stay in B&Bs over a hotel. I would say we were disappointed by not having a prepared meal in the mornings as we had at other B&Bs. Don't get me wrorng, there was plenty of stuff available, biscuits, pastries, fruit, juice, and condiments. The room had a clean bathroom, small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and it was was well stocked with dishes, cups, glasses silverware, and utensils. You do your own dishes. The place was nice and quiet and the bed was wonderful. Enjoy and relax.
We booked the whole BnB for a family wedding. Very comfortable, great location and more breakfast foods and fruits than we could eat. Beautiful lanais and gardens. It was a nice bonus to have beach towels, umbrellas, chairs, snorkeling equipment and so much more. We didn't have to buy or rent a thing. Also, very nice to have laundry facilities available. Janice was a wonderful hostess, helping us out with some items we needed for the beach wedding. She even gave the newlyweds a special gift! I highly recommend Hidden Hideaway. We would definitely return.
Our family had a wonderful week-long stay at the Peacock Suite and Sunrise Studio. Each room had a peaceful, private lanai with lovely plants and flowers – the grounds of the home are luscious, all shades of green with blooms everywhere. The spa was delightful after a day of outdoor activity. Each suite is pleasantly appointed and comfortable. We have two teenage boys, and the space in the two adjoining suites accommodated us all nicely. The rooms come well stocked with breakfast items, fruits and juices, cookies, nuts and other snacks, and also tableware and glasses. It was great to have a fresh pot of coffee in the morning without having to drive to town. There are more than enough bath linens (good quality towels) and toiletries, and also items for the beach, including beach towels and mats, coolers, beach chairs, boogie boards and an outdoor shower – all of which we used daily. Lanikai Beach is just gorgeous! Soft sand, clear blue water, not crowded and only a short walk away. The nearby town of Kailua is easy to get to and has just enough shops and restaurants (and a great Sunday morning farmers’ market) without seeming crowded and touristy. Janice gave us great recommendations for activities, including golf, surf lessons, restaurants, hikes, cultural and historic sites, and beaches on other parts of Oahu. We would gladly return for another visit!
Room was great, bed comfy, nice and friendly. Great walk to the beach close to the town. The fresh fruit and other goodies left were most welcome. Would definitely recommend for people to stay as it was soooo relaxing.
Not only were we disappointed by the "breakfast" which were just a couple of food and cupcake in the microwave, it was filled with ants eating it. More than that, the ants got out of the microwave and hundreds of them were walking around and on the bed. My partner got allergy and we had to spend time in the hospital during our precious time in Hawaii. Good thing we booked and moved on to another hotel instantly, which helped us out to make the stay at the island better.
We spent three nights at this lovely B&B. If you want a quiet stay in Lanikai Beach this is the perfect place to be! You can't hear the road but you can hear the surf and the trade winds. It is just short walk to the beach. Janice is a fantastic host! The rooms are very private and well appointed. Everything you need for the beach, day to day comfort, and even his and her robes are available! We will definitely stay here again!
The B&B is away from the touristy, noisy area and in a beautiful setting within a very short walk to a beautiful beach. It felt like I was in a lush rain forrest. They provide beach towels, beach chairs, and snorkling gear. Extensive TV channels, and free wifi! I highly recommend it and will be back.
Had a lovely five night stay in the peacock suite with our 16 year old daughter. The room is independently accessed from the rest of the house and very private, with off street parking. The jacuzzi was a welcome addition in a private area outside our door, which we enjoyed using it on a daily basis in the afternoons. It is very private and Janice's home is in a quiet residential area, minutes walk to a lovely beach. Loved walking there for early morning swims. The water was beautifully clear and calm. The larger beach was just a short distance away, but we never felt the need to go there, and it was more crowded anyway. Janice was generous with the breakfast provisions which lasted a few days. We were only a 10 min drive from the shopping area to restock. Wifi was reliable, no problem. Janice provided beach chairs and nice, thick beach towels which were welcomed. The unit is self contained ( well no cooking facilities but who cooks on holidays?), though no laundry, Janice does offer the use of laundry facilitates for nominal charge, but we didn't need it, because we used the laundromats in the shopping centre when we did our shopping. Good range of restaurants short drive near by too. I had been looking for somewhere quiet, unpretentious and private -impossible on Waikik - and found it at Janice's. We were all happy with our stay
From the moment we pulled into the town of Kailua we knew we were in the right place. Waikiki just wasn't for us. The home is nestled in with the most beautiful multi million dollar homes. We arrived with clear directions and sweet greetings. Instructions were perfect and we were just giddy walking through the front door to our home for 5 nights! We stayed in the peacock suite and it was perfect. So comfortable and inviting. The hot tub was amazing! The grounds are well kept and the place has everything you could need! Snorkels, fins, coolers, beach chairs and towels and umbrellas. For anyone who says this is too expensive they didn't spend time in Any of the resorts or hotels in Hawaii. You pay for parking, resort fees, have to buy towels and mats or pay for chair usage and umbrellas. We Snorkeled daily and would not have wanted to pay for two snorkels a day either. Lanikai beach is spectacular and perfect and a short walk away. The views are impressive. Kailua beach is also pristine and don't neglect the sunrises on Lanikai! Also, don't just stay here, rent a car and visit the north shore and the West shores. Beaches are every 3-5 minutes and you'll love them! We loved Mahaka beach on the west (though the town isn't so nice the beaches are pristine and barely anyone on them) for sea turtles and amazing sunsets! Go see what this island has to offer I can guarantee it's not just Waikiki! We would stay here again and again! Janice has thought of everything and we were so comfortable! Can't wait to go back!
My wife and I spent 3 nights at this charming B&B in a clean and quiet residential neighborhood. The room was clean and very comfortable, and we especially enjoyed the outdoor terrace, private jacuzzi, and beautiful gardens. Off-street parking a definite plus! An easy 30 minute drive from the airport, and a short drive to great restaurants locally. It was a short walk to the beach, and there's a great hike in the hills above this property, with the trailhead close to the B&B. Janice is a great hostess and her suggestions for places to eat and things to do were spot on. Would definitely stay here again!
