Went to Thaba khaya for my birthday celebration with my husband..I must say, their service exceeded my expectations. Everything was just so perfect..woke up to the roaring sound of lions...how nice..Emily,Johan and Lindoh were awesome not forgetting the food Claudia was preparing for us daily...everything was just spot on...I'm definitely going back for a full week this time as the weekend was just not enough for us....😊😊
The lodge is amazing. Pieter is a great host and communicates prior to arrival. The game drives with him were very informative and hilarious too. The food is great. The staff is wonderful, especially Richard.
The staff was very friendly and professional, we felt so welcomed from our arrival time to departure day, we enjoyed every second. The place is so peaceful and relaxing. The swimming pool was so inviting but the place doesn't offer pool towels. It was the weekend of the rugby final, their lounge is so nice tv a bit small though😉. It was an amazing stay.
My husband & I had the pleasure of staying at thaba khaya sable ranch. We were celebrating our one year wedding anniversary. Everything was 5 star. The staff is so warm & friendly & really go out of their way. Peter & his wife Claudie also very warm & friendly. Best customer service we experienced. The place is absolutely relaxing & the luxury room is very spacious. They went all out to create a romantic outdoor dinner for us.it was so memorable. The food & game drives were fantastic. Cannot fault this place at all. It was really worth our long drive all the way from Durban. We will definitely visit again. Kind Regards Prenusha & Sean Naidoo
I had the most amazing stay. Much more that i expected. From the managment and their exseptional helpers and staff all of whome went out of their way to make our stay the best it cold be! Pieter and his wife manda where full of information and the love the both share of the annimals was lovely. Think you so Much for a wonderful stay.
By far the best place I've stayed in when in the North-West. Pieter and his staff are more like a family which made our stay even more comfortable. They are kind and the hospitality is just out of this world. I definitely recommend Thaba Khaya Lodge.
First of all, compliments to the chef, the food was amazing, the setup, and the hosts were very helpful and attentive of our needs. We got treated like royalty. Thank you Peter and Claudie for such a great service. We will definitely come back
My hubby and I thought we’d take the opportunity of “4 star” accommodation to celebrate our anniversary. We were told we would have 4 game drives over the weekend. We rush over there on Friday to make our 3:30 game drive only to be told that the other guests were running late, Claudie “didn’t think” we would go on a game drive that day. There were 3 other couples there that weekend and we were subjected to breakfast, lunch and dinner with these other couples at the same table. The only time we had any privacy was if we locked ourselves in our room. When we attempted going on a self drive as it became apparent that we weren’t getting our game drives, we were told we were not allowed to. Then to end off this terrible weekend we were given our bill. We had to pay a 5% gratuity to all the staff, which I don’t mind because Emily and her colleagues were really the only good thing about Thaba Khaya but what we didn’t know was that is was on the WHOLE amount we paid including accommodation as well as a conservation fee. First time I’ve heard of a conservation fee at a private game lodge?? We will never return to Thaba Khaya even if we were given accommodation for free!
If you are looking to experience the sheer beauty of the South African Highveld with all the vegetation and animals, look no further. The whole experience we were pampered and we relaxed like never before. Highly recommended.
We experienced a very friendly atmosphere when arrive by all staff and facilities were of ggod standard, the service was also very good aswas the food. The Game Drives were very good and the Guide had a good knowlage of the wild life present.
