This up-market hotel in the Jungmun resort area in the south of the Islandis very posh in its outward appearance. The outside areas are very well maintained, it is fronted by the beach and the lobby / breakfast area is very nicely designed. The staff are very pleasant and do all the things you expect staff in this kind of hotel to do - take your bags from the pavement to the room and don't expect a tip. the level of English is higher than in a budget hotel. The breakfast had a huge array of international foods and the service was reasonable. However, check in was at 3pm and arriving early because of rain, I had over 3 hours to wait for my room to be ready and nothing offered to while away the time - though I was able to get an expensive coffee and an English version of the Korean Times on asking. When I got into the room it was fine though a bit old fashioned. There was a fridge and a 1 lire large bottle of water. As always, the minibar prices seemed very high. I couldn't see a room service menu. When I went to bed I realised that the headboard was discoloured and scratched and there were several holes in the sheets and duvet cover! I did report it to reception the next day and they changed the bedding but I have never had that in any hotel I have ever stayed in. There was wi-fi in the room and the TV was all free channels though mostly in Korean. I think this hotel would have been a lot nicer if the weather had been better when I was there as I only had 2 nights. This hotel is on the Bus Route 600 from the airport (W4,500) and is about 1hr 20 mins from the airport by car/taxi, a little longer by bus. It is within reasonable walking distance from attractions such as the Teddy Bear Museum (hilarious!), which has a Starbucks opposite. If I was to return to this area I would try another of the prestige resort hotels to compare rather than go back to this one.
Overall hotel has good maintenance but need updates room. Staff was very kind and care customers. Specially James Lee worked front desk. Very beautiful views and beaches. I highly recommend this hotel.
Located in South Jeju, this hotel provides a nice atmosphere, with cool beachside air. Hotel with amazing staff. Suitable for families and children. With kid playground also. Breakfasts were varied. Good quality rooms with beautiful beach view. Around the hotel there are also many tourist attractions such as tedy bear museum, beach, K Pop museum, chocolate museum etc. AirPort bus limousine are always available.
Dont ever stay here! We accidentally booked this place but we found out it was the wrong location in Jeju island. Upon realising, we immediately called Agoda to cancel our booking (within a couple of hours of the booking). Agoda said they refused to give us a refund, but to try to call the hotel directly and negotiate. Which we did, and spoke to reservation lady called REDSON. After 15 minutes of searching with my last name, agoda booking number, booking.com number, date of check in, date of check out, she confirmed our booking doesnt exist! So then, we called Agoda at the same time and put them (Agoda and Hyatt) on speaker phone to clarify the matter. After Agoda told them other booking numbers, REDSON from Hyatt still could not find our booking. So she told us (and FYI we have this in recording) that we would come on our arrival date, we would not be able to check in at Hyatt Regency Jeju. This was also heard by the AGODA representative who was still on speaker phone. Redson also said that she will allowed AGODA to cancel this booking. Agoda agreed and asked redson to send them to confirmed. We thought problem was solved. So then we waited for the refund that never came. So I called agoda again, and they said the hotel did not want to refund me! Is this a joke? After 7 calls to Agoda and about 8 calls to Hyatt Regency Jeju, I decided to just asked for compensation. (At this point I already know how unprofessional both AGODA and HYATT are) so I decided to just get some money back. HYATT sent me an EMAIL (black and white proof) that they are willing to refund 1 out of 2 nights for our compensation. Which I immediately agree to take. So then I sent AGODA (because the booking was made through AGODA) my credit card details, proof of statement that I have been charged, and other infos that they need. After waiting and waiting, Agoda sent an email saying that the hotel decided not to refund us anymore! What the hell? Is that what you called professionalism? From a big company like AGODA and HYATT? After they sent us a black and white email saying they will refund us? WOW.. I am honestly quiet shock by this matter. What kind of customer service is this? I have spent time and energy on this matter and are willing to compromise with them but in the end they did not want to keep the end of their bargain? Just wow. I will never stay at any HYATT branch ever again and I will tell my friends and family not to stay as well because this is just beyond anything. I am truly disappointed and my next step is to report this case to the Korean Consumer Agency.
It wasn't as good as money it charges, but location was excellent. Building itself was in shamble with a lot of patch jobs clearly visible to untrained eyes. Very noisy in general. From inside of hotel room I could hear almost everything, anything from the hotel.

It was second time I visited this hotel in 6months. I was fine the last time when I visited on October month staying in ocean view room. The view was great so I brought my friend this time to this hotel. This time it was offseason so I booked a normal standard room and tried to upgrade ocean view room at the hotel but they tried to charge much higher price than online price. The standard room was just a big disappointment . Empty hotel and casino closed and they charged the sauna for changing gym clothes. What’s wrong with this place. Even 4 stars hotel in Jeju provide better service and facilities.... Seriously this hyatt need to renovate soon.
Our rooms were not ready at 11am (perfectly reasonable) so we went for lunch and returned about 230pm to be informed that our rooms were still not ready and were asked to wait till 3pm (still within reason although alarm bells have started to ring). 3pm came and we had to chase the front desk before we got our keys about 310pm. I requested for an apology by the manager and for the hotel to do something about it. The manager called and although he apologised, also added some excuses and included that they were only a few minutes late. I was initially offered a late check out (please don’t insult me) which I rejected. The manager offered some Jeju fruits which I said ok to. The “fruits” came. It was one Jeju orange and a box of chocolate (no grammar mistake here. See photo). Even my 5yo laughed when he saw the single orange on the plate. We just returned it and told them not to do anything else. I would also like to add that the rooms are super dated - like a 1980s movie set. So if you’re into retro, this is the place for you. Our travel adaptors could not fit into the ancient power points but thankfully they were able to provide us with 2 rather quickly. The room does however appear clean.
Hyatt Regency Jeju is a wonderful place to stay in. Facilities, amenities and service is expected and excellent. Loved the airy atrium concept. If i have to award a hotel for setting benchmarks in hospitality and service then my vote will go to to Hyatt Regency Jeju. On arrival, i was greeted warmly by May and was given an early check in. I was assigned room 501 - traditional korean style ondol room with ocean view. The view is magnificent offering panoramic views of jeju’s natural surroundings and spectacular view of the Jungmun Beach. I wondered how the heating floor works. It was indeed warm but i kept the balcony door slightly open at all time making the temperature just perfect. During check out, i was attended by Youngin who was friendly and gracious. She was very composed even though she was on the phone with a difficult guest. Roy from Concierge was very helpful and attentive. Every staff in the hotel are on point. If ocean view and serenity is what you are looking for, Hyatt Regency Jeju is definitely the ultimate choice.
Stayed in December and would not recommend this hotel. The theme was 1970s with the open center and rooms along the outside. Rooms were in need of an update. Check in was frustrating as we had reserved rooms with two queen beds. There are no such rooms in this hotel. The rooms have one single bed and one double bed. Staff was not helpful in the least and would only say that it is Expedia's fault that they don't change the ad. Executive Lounge privileges are oversold so there are frequently no seats and you are told to come back later (on the positive side the staff in the lounge is friendly once they warm up). The prices charged in the lobby bar are ridiculously expensive and the service was horrible. The hotel is on a cliff overlooking the water, which was nice and there is a walking path. We were able to walk into the town. There are several "museums" in the vicinity which we could walk to. All in all, there are much nicer properties in the same price range in the vicinity which are more up to date.
