The Park Lane Jakarta4.5 out of 5.0

Stayed for a week at The Park Lane for one of my business trips to Jakarta. The hotel is an hour drive from airport but is located in the middle of the crowded corporate place. It's at walking distance to Mall 88 which is one of the best malls in Jakarta. The hotel staff was very polite and quick. All the requests were entertained on priority with no hassles. The rooms were clean and maintained. The food served is good with dishes rotated on daily basis. One good thing which struck me was that they tried to maintain variety based on geographical locations, thus giving an option to all to decide what to eat. The pool side view is good but the swimming pool is inexplicably deserted. You get to choose where to dine at four places - 1) in the restaurant in the lower ground, 2) separate restaurant on ground floor, 3) near swimming pool and 4) obviously in room. It's also at walking distance to few nearby malls where you can also go out and dine, but the travellers will be disappointed from market perspective. It's in the middle of the corporate space, roads get jam-packed after 5pm in evening and the beaches/shopping places (for souvenirs) are very far, but Go-Jek, Uber and other rides are easily available right outside hotel.
Park Lane Hotel is my preferred hotel in Jakarta as it is located near big mall, restaurants and staffs are friendly and helpful. The food is of good quality and local cuisine service is also available.
I stayed here one hour after my wedding reception finished, such a really long tiring day. For newlyweds, i asked honeymoon decoration in notes before payment at online travel agent. But when i arrived in my room, no decoration at all. I really enjoyed my stay overall, the food, the ambience, bathroom, bed, etc all perfect.
Good customer service and friendly staff, internet was good and room was spacious. Only issue is location outside always heavy traffic during office hours. breakfast and dinner buffet was good and the variety suffice.
nice place to stay. Stayed for new year's eve, and having difficulties during checked in because the room was not ready yet (it already around 3.30 PM. Has to wait until around 4 PM to get the room) I knew it was a busy day, but other guests were keep getting the room while I have to wait like more than 30 minutes.
The staff were very friendly. When we requested for something, our needs were attended to immediately. They also offered useful information and alternative suggestions for when they couldn't provide what we needed.
I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times both on business and holiday. It is well maintained, has good amenities and very courteous staff. The restaurant has fine dining and the swimming pool is just great.
Always one of my favourite old spots in Jakarta, I've stayed more than 60 times apparently, or so the staff tell me. It was feeling slightly dated with so many new hotels in Jakarta but they have done quite a lot of refresh work lately with a new foyer and improved suites. Its a great location not far from Ambassador, and with the new mall next door for anything you need. A good half way point if you have to work in both South and Central Jakarta. Though be ware the trafiic is now horrendous due to the overhead highway that ends just before the hotel and the mall just after it. When coming and going you are often better to get off on the other side of the road and walk across than wait the extra 20mins just to turn around. They have also finally got rid of what was one of the dodgiest seediest bar in Jakarta that used to lurk like a monster in the basement which is a major bonus. They also recently renovated the restaurant which was a very good but very expensive and fancy french affair. the new restaurant is now a lot more accessible, bridging the pool to the foyer, but sadly needs to be AVOIDED at all costs by most foreigners, as ridiculously they allow smoking in the dining areas, a practice now outlawed in most of the modern world, but still done (though I think now illegal) in Indonesia. This makes eating there horrendous and uncomfortable, the whole place reeks of stale or fresh smoke and you simply cant taste teh expensive food you have paid. Such a simply thing for them to fix, they even have a dividing screen they can use but don't. They even have an outdoor area that could be used for smoking only, or even be dedicated for non-smoking which would make sense for swimmers, but isn't. I strongly recommend avoiding the restaurant all together and eating in your room, at the buffet downstairs, or at one of the many good venues at the mall next door On a separate note the breakfast buffet is still very good, though not quite as good as it used to be, bacon is now sidelined in homage to muslim patrons, but at least it is still their in a token statement to fading national pluralism. Smoked salmon is either now gone or just always habis and the once wonderful sourdough is a long lost memory. I am guessing they are simply responding to the changing market of less western customers which is what I see when i stay there. But poached eggs, muesli, yoghurt and double shot cafe lattes are all still available which is what matters most for me and the staff are still amazing at remembering names which is always impressive. Anyway warts and all Park Lane remains a favourite spot when i am neither fully booked in the south or central jakarta but rather have appointments at both
the staff, location, services, room size and cleanliness are excellent. friendly staff have the interest to help. the price of the hotel is quite competitive. I do not be hesitant to recommend the hotel to my friend and family. it is my favorite hotel in Jakarta and always I will stay there if I am in Jakarta. the value of service exceeds the money you pay. the variety of room size and type is wonderful. I suggest you add to your restaurant's menus the middle east food
This hotel is underrated.. its strategic location to a major shopping mall in Kuningan as well as nearby in Jln Sudirman gives it an edge. Allows ample time to commute in all directions despite the normal day to day heavy traffic. I love it.. And the Bar downstairs should be praised for its efforts! If only the management and marketing does some elaboration of this bar to make it even more awesome than it already is.. minus the tax.
