The hotel has an excellent location and the capacity to be easily five stars. To my understanding IHG is pulling their flag off by the end of this month. You can tell that it is not a smooth handover to many missed service opportunities. The staff try to please you. Hard to deny that. But there is no empowerment for the simplest requests. The hotel is undergoing renovations, if relaxation or business is your goal temporarily pick a different hotel. There were too many inconsistencies in food and beverage and housekeeping. I can go on and on, IHG should handle transition better or just pull their flag so they will not lose loyal customers. Again I do not fault the staff - I fault the mgmt team. Times such as these - senior mgmt should be visible. All in all I did not get the usual IHG service.

it is ok .. not bad but not a true 5 stars hotel.. not a hotel that you attach intercon logo to it .. the staff were very friendly.. polite and professional.. the food was good .. the meetting place at M floor is not up to any mark .. it is good hotel but you can compare it to 4 stars

Lobby was grand. Stayed at the executive room. Check in took almost thirty minutes. Room was as clean as do most other competitive 4 or 5 star hotels. Elevator had a bad stench throughout our stay. Afternoon tea at the executive lounge was pathetic with only a single serving. Evening cocktail was decent but nothing to shout about. We had breakfast at the second floor. The spread was limited compared to other hotels in the same class. Pastries and bread were of poor quality. Service in general was average, The hotel offers poor value for money and we will definitely not return again. There are better choices in Jakarta.

Stayed here for work. Although this hotel has everything it doesn't quite gel. Restaurants are limited in terms of variety. Rooms - were not cleaned well prior to my entry - dirty tissues under the bed.

As a regular Traveller and having stayed at this hotel 3 times before, one can not stop to notice the continuous decline in service at this property. While pricing has increased, services and benefits provided continuously slide. There are better hotels in Jakarta such as Grand Hyatt and Mandarin. So better look for alternatives when staying in downtown.

Such a pity to witness the rapid decline of a majestic hotel were I have stayed regularly over the past 5/6 years. On check-in I was informed that as a Platinum Elite Ambassador I will be "entitled" to an upgrade but denied access to the Club Lounge on the 14th Floor. Having been a loyal customer of the IHG Group in Asia, even staying at the Intercontinental Jakarta for a continuous period of over two years, 2012-2014, I was shocked to hear this change in policy. To me the Club Lounge was like a home from home where I could relax in the evening, read a paper, watch TV, and entertain guests whilst partaking of a glass or two of wine and enjoying a variety of finger snacks, local food, aperitif and a splendid cheeseboard. I then receive a call from Reception that "I will be allowed to enter the Club Lounge during my current stay but not in the future". Then being chastised for requesting to reserve a table in the Club Lounge as it "was against IHG policy". I felt like a fugitive from justice. I had to pinch myself to realise who was the Client and who was the Customer !!! Not a great start to what was to prove to be an uncomfortable weekend. Maybe it the fact that the Intercontinental Hotel will be closing in the coming weeks that has resulted in the cut back in Ambassador facilities;? Club Lounge snacks lacking in imagination with the quality and quantity barely sufficient to feed the guests; the Engineering staff refusal to repair the air-conditioning unit as it was "not due to be serviced till Tuesday" which was 3 days away. Spending two sleepless nights in a hot room. Whilst the Intercon has always been my favorite Hotel in Jakarta, I can no longer recommend it as "the place to stay" and alas I will not be returning as there are far better hotels in this competitive hospitability market offering similar or more enhanced facilities than the Intercontinental for a similar cost. May the old lady rest in peace.

This is my first stay at Intercontinental Mid Plaza in Jakarta. Choosing this hotel was a result of my stay at same hotel chain in Singapore. Checkin at Club Lounge. Took longer than I expected due to process of upgrading me to suite room. Bit disappointed at upgrading as I expected room at Club Lounge floor. I was happy being upgraded but not because it was not at Club Lounge floor. Services at Club Lounge was good. Staff are attentive but not as good as Singapore if I may compare. I was given fruit platter but not replaced daily. Should have been at that class of services and room. The hotel is not near shopping malls. The nearest is Citywalk which is upper class food centre. Two hours meeting room usage was great and I love the room, it has excellent facilities and great ambience except its too big for small meeting. Good to have another smaller meeting room for 2 to 4 persons even if the free usage is only for one hour. Overall good services.

My first time in Jakarta I have been choosing this fine hotel. It was a pleasant and comfortable stay. All the staff were showing a warm and friendly service attitude. Great spacious and clean room. Big king sized bed with a comfortable mattress. I do not regret choosing the club lounge on the top floor. They were very helpful for my arrangemnts in town and served great breakfast and had a various choices of snacks and hors d'oeuves in the afternoon and evening. Taxis were always available. I would choose this place again.
