I stayed for one night on 22-23 October. I came with great expectation as I grew up spending our holidays in Jakarta at this hotel with my parents. Upon check in, I was offered a twin bed room on 10th floor. So far so good, the attendants were friendly and nice. However, my nightmare soon began when I entered the room. The first room I was given had a faulty shower/bathtub which can't be switched on properly. I waited for about 30 mins before I was moved to another room on the same floor. The next room which was adjacent was equally problematic. The TV had an issue, it was too dark for comfortable viewing. The shower was dirty and had stains on the bathtub. I called the front desk again asking for another room. This time round, the lady who assisted us in person (someone from Club Lounge) wasn't as cordial in handling my complain. Mind you, this was already the 2nd room that fell short of my expectation. By this time, an hour had been wasted. Instead of offering an upgrade to avoid the same issue, I was then moved to 7th floor which was quite a hassle but I had no choice. This room was alright at the initial inspection, but it turned out to be problematic again. The bed sheet was dirty and stained, the shower head was so rusty that it gave out yellowish water which the Club Lounge lady insisted wasn't rust. All these from a supposedly 5* hotel? Unbelievable. I requested to speak to the General Manager but wasn't given the chance to. Of course, I will never go back to this property and I want to warn my fellow travellers to set your expectation well. This isn't a 5* hotel anymore, avoid at all cost if possible.
A hotel resting on its laurels. There are now many hotels in Jakarta that are better. The location is fine the grounds and the pool excellent. The service was slow and haphazard. The room was fine, however it was really annoying to be disturbed every morning (before 0900) being asked if we needed the room serviced. The most annoying matter was not being able to deposit funds with a U.K. debit card. This meant we had too pay for every service in the Hotel one transaction at a time, be it food drink laundry et al. It also meant the telephone was blocked. Be aware of this if you intend to stay in the hotel Borobudur.
My wife and I celebrated our 19th anniversary at this hotel. Because we live in Jakarta, and there is so much traffic and hectic life, we love the hotel has a lot of land of the free space. We left for breakfast, the pool, the room, and the staff. There are two suggestions that I might have: - Have larger bottles of water in the room. Such an easy way to bless the customers. My wife and I personally felt dehydrated and did not want to spend 80,000 rupiah for a small bottle of water. :-) - At breakfast there were two items at the buffet that were out "kosong" (the word in Bahasa for gone)... at it was only 9:00am. Since the breakfast is open until 10:00, I thought this was not to the standard of a five-star hotel.
The hotel is located about an hour drive from the airport. It is a grand 4.5 or 5 stars hotel with all the exquisite decorations & facilities. The hotel staff are great - helpful and friendly without lacking of smiles in their faces. The room however, is average - at least the one that we stayed in. Refer to the attached photos. The room is fully carpeted - the carpet is well maintained. The furniture (closet, working desk, sofa etc) is aging - but maintained well by the hotel staff. The bed, pillows & comforter are very comfy - you'll definitely get a good night sleep. The lighting in the room is good & adequate. The toilet, however, is very small. Hard to move around. Closing the toilet door is a hassle itself. You can refer to the photos. The towels provided are worn - no longer soft & comfy, bit of uncomfortable to dry yourself. No iron, no iron board in the room. When asked for, they sent the iron & iron board that are probably 10 years old. The hotel provided complimentary water bottles, but they are not replenish on daily basis. The breakfast buffet is very good. Excellent selection of food. You'll definitely enjoy the breakfast here. We didn't eat lunch or dinner at the hotel. Internet connection (wifi / LAN) provided is good & fast. The hotel outlook, decorations, surrounding & the staff are excellent. However, the room is average and the toilet is small. In my opinion, the room is not worth the value of the room rate.
Food is good. People are good. Nice natural view and great pool. Safe hotel with security checks. Very good. Only the beds are a bit small and bathroom was lower than my expectations. Overall it is definitely above 4 stars
love the breakfast, the pool and the room. My kid really love the room, the pool and kids playing ground. I really love the jogging track, the breakfast, helpful staff. The receptionist is very helpful. She help us the get our room ready in just 20 minutes. She said I'll try my best mom, since you bring your child with you. How nice.
I just stayed at the Borobudur Jakarta again and really enjoyed my stay. The location close to the main train station meets my travel needs. The MONAS monument and the Cathedral are also close by. The main shopping malls and many of the non-government offices are a bit further in the south -- hence, eating out will require a taxi ride. What makes this hotel special is its large outside facilities (park, pool, running track, tennis courts) and its Indonesian flair. This includes the very supportive staff (from check-in, to security and the door staff). I can also enjoyed the little coffee shop they have on the premise. I really had a very pleasant three night stay and I will definitely use this hotel again.
Me and my family are so happy to stay in borobudur. We have an unforgettable moments there. Some of items in the bathroom need to be fixed but overall we are satesfied. I’m arranging some schedule to stay again there
Room was tired and bit knocked about - but bed and pillows offset that - shower heads very low and not movable but that is just an inconvenience - but smelt of smoke although a non smoking room Staff are still considerate and attentive Charged me twice on credit card for the staff - ( they charged the initial block on arrival ) as well as on check out - so be aware in case a practice or just a genuine mistake Smoking is relaxed - great if you smoke not so much if you don't and smoking seems to be the preference in bars / common areas
