The hotel is a little aged but I need to compliment a proactive staff, Yola (communications department, if I got it right). I called, on behalf of my boss who checked out two hours earlier, to look for a missing personalised pen. My boss suspected leaving it in the room and sounded anxious. Yola took my call. She got the relevant details and assured me to return a call even when I did not have a local dial back number. Twenty minutes later, she called back. She had security and head of house keeping followed her to the room to search for the item. However they were unsuccessful. The promise to return the call meant more than the ability to find the item. This is a positive reflection on assurance. Thank you, Yola.
I found two (!) worms crawling through the vegetables served in the breakfast buffet. As compensation I was offered to not have to pay for my for my breakfast for two days, which I thought was definitely not sufficient. This place charges 5 star prices and eating worms with your food is not acceptable. Besides that, the rooms are old and more 3 star, but the location is very good if you want to stay close to the airport and the bar overlooking a little lake next to the swimming pool actually has a very nice view.
Stayed here for a couple of days on a business trip. The best thing is it is very near to the airport and so one can avoid the traffic jam of Jakarta. Food is quite good and options are there to have continental as well as the local food. Staffs are very good and cooperative. Rooms are quite big and has a balcony as well. The main problem is far away from the city and hence nothing is around. Anyway the hotel is highly recommended.
I've stayed at Bandara several times across my last three years going to Indonesia. It is the perfect airport hotel--especially for a city where it traffic is so dicey getting to and from the airport. The lobby and staff continue to be nice and friendly. The bar even boasts the same Sheraton old menu--but the night I was there not everything on food or beer lsit was available. The rooms are nice and were once really nice. You cans tart to see some of the wear and tear. But they are clean and comfortable with good wifi. Again, the staff is very nice and helpful. I will continue to stay here for the convenience and solid cleanliness, but I'd certainly welcome a bit of a sprucing up. We'll see what the new Accor owners do.
I read a lot of mixed reviews about this ex-Sheraton Hotel. Booked for my last night of 4 night business trip, to avoid a long, early morning taxi ride. All of my expectations were surpassed with this. Shame I did not have longer than 1 night to experience the pools, the spa etc. It really has a feel of a small resort but surrounded by main roads, and near the airport. You cannot hear the planes, except some distance sound sometimes. The staff were exceptional and very helpful. The bar good to relax, and work as well. Breakfast was average - having just stayed 3 days at another Jakarta hotel the choice and quality was not quite as good here. Trip to the airport the next morning on the free shuttle was 10-15minutes. Easy, and highly recommend this hotel if you need to be close to the airport. Will definitely stay again if I need to be need airport (inbound or outbound)
Stayed 1 night only before taking early flight to go back. Upon arriving regret no time to stay a bit longer. Hotel has elegant lobby, lots of trees around and a big swimming pool. It felt like a resort in places like Phuket. Room is very big and comfortable, only thing is rather dark, the brightest area is the washroom! Had dinner in the Indonesian restaurant, food very tasty traditional favour with fusion touch and presentation, price reasonable. Breakfast in internatioanl restaurant, lots of choices the struggle was no way you could try all items ^^ Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. There is regular free shuttle going to the international airport which takes less than 10 minutes.
Hotel staff are courteous and friendly... the room was quite large, my room has terrace overlooking the lake and garden, there are two pools... it is quiet location although there is not much to go within hotel vicinity but there is free hotel to Emporium Pluit Mall.. it has King size bed with four pillows to choose - soft or hard.. variety of foods at buffet breakfast... All in all, the stay was great again..
I had a very pleasant stay at Bandara International hotel. The only drawback is the location away from the city otherwise it is a fantastic property. If your work is around the Soekarno Hatta airport or you just want to have a quiet, relaxing time, this hotel would be a great choice. It's also a great transit stop with all the facilities of a good airport hotel with a touch of luxury. The rooms are a bit old and dated but very well maintained. The beds are comfortable with crisp, clean sheets, pillows and duvets. I had a room on the ground floor with direct access to the scenic garden with lush foliage and a lovely walking path behind. The breakfast has a good spread of local and international food with choice of fresh juices to start your day. The coffee was great. I had dinner at the Linjani restaurant on three nights and the food was really great. I travel a lot and normally I have found the taste of most dishes on a hotel buffet are a bit bland to safely cater for all types of palettes but at Bandara you can taste the spicy & yummy local cuisine as well as reasonably good International cuisine. I was attending a conference and heard other guests complimenting the buffet food spread too. The staff were helpful and courteous. The lovely pool area deserves special mention. (Pictures attached). It's a great place to unwind and relax. If you stay on the ground floor do remember to keep the doors closed to keep out the mosquitoes as the hotel is set in a natural setting. Overall I enjoyed my stay in Bandara and would definitley return if there's an opportunity.
Well this is a very old hotel that long time ago manange by Sheraton hotel group, but now they change to name of Bandara hotel means airport hotel just next to jakarta international airport ; the staffs are very friendly and most of them have very tipical smiling java face and polite attitude , I had my traditional ox tail soup , hainan chicken and mix fruits that very Indonesian food taste , well as an Indonesian I can just say it is regular food standard but comparable cheaper price than other hotel , and the ox tail soup is very diffrient from the English or tail soup that in U.K. , if you are a western traveler .
The Bandara used to be a Sheraton, when she was young and pretty, but decades later her beauty has faded a bit but it is still a lovely place to stay. The Bandara is right next door to the airport in Jakarta and the perfect location for rest or business. What ever you do, do NOT be tempted to stay at a downtown hotel, no matter how fabulous. The traffic in Jakarta is berserk, utterly insane, 24/7. Best avoided if you can. There's nothing to see in town except concrete and crowds anyway. Back to the Bandara and a little bus will collect you on demand from the departures level and deliver you the short distance to the hotel. Decor is exotic with a distinct Indonesian favour. The staff are numerous, very friendly and can't do enough for you. Rooms are showing their age, here and there, but if you remember you're in a south-seas paradise, perhaps like me you'll be a bit forgiving. Beds are huge and comfortable, aircon works a treat, if a little noisy and I always sleep very well here. Lovely varied room service menu that delivers delicious selections from east and west. Breakfasts are good with the huge bonus that you can enjoy it outside by the vast and lovely swimming pool. Imagine the lovely warm freshness of an Indonesian morning, sun peeking through building clouds and the glorious birdsong that accompanies your breakfast in wicker chairs and tables. A wonderful and lovely start to your day. This has been my third stay here and will gladly stay here again on any future visit. It just goes to show that an older hotel doesn't need to be a horror show, as with my recent stay at the ghastly Birmingham Hilton, and if you can get past the need for a bit of makeup here and there, you'll have a restful joyous stay in Jakarta. It is worth the visit to hear the lovely little birds who serenade you at a poolside breakfast. Simply lovely.
