The Hotel just as an average hotel, you can not expect anything great just because its name is Alila. You can't compare with the one in Bali. Just for an average hotel that you pay too much. 4 star but feels like 3 star hotel, old room, a little bit smelly. Yeah, nothing special.
Stayed to spend long weekend with my partner. Despite it's an old hotel, i could say they maintained it really well. Location was good, easy to find, plenty parking lot and there are a lot of food nearby Room and bathroom was clean, the bed was comfy, so much options for the breakfast, and we were lucky to be able to experience the pool The only thing that's a bit disappointing was the TV. We were planning to spend the night by watching movies from our HDD but the TV's USB port was like located behind it, so we had to call room service but unfortunately it still didn't work. And the TV's position is like not in the middle of the bed so which makes it a bit uncomfortable to watch TV.
Nice building Hotel and view from my room was I stay is beautiful. However , base on my experience stay in the hotel .. the room are not presenting if luxury as like the name of the Hotel"ALiLA" ,.. room was very plaint , the color are boring, poor decoration. it just like an empty box. Staff are great, helpfully, excellent service. Breakfast have to attention..: a lot variation and selection. however the quality need to look on detail .. taste mostly flat, over stay in chaffing dish, bakery need much attention quality really poor,.. croissant is rubbery, others bread are rocky.( may be the bakery are frozen pre bake or frozen dough that ready to baked.... I order egg over easy than I got sunny site up but is okey for me. I was visit Alila in Thai and some in Indonesia for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner with my client, and it was really satisfied, but when I compare with that,... it's didn't fell I do eat in ALiLA
Its a nice oasis in the insanity that is Jakarta. Really nice rooftop pool but a lack of guest takes away from what could be a fun atmosphere. Pool bar was basically abandoned, but it made sense since so few visitors were in the hotel. The gym is amazing, especially for Jakarta, with a downstairs yoga room and steam/sauna. Room was nice, breakfast buffet was unreal, almost nap inducing with how many options they had. The food outside breakfast was good but pricy. AC and WIFI were great, one of the only places I could stream Netflix at in Indonesia. Overall a nice hotel that serves as a great way to recover from jet lag on a long flight.
Great welcoming when arrive. Staffs were pleasant during the whole stay and attentive. The rooms need some renovation, the breakfast was really good and also enjoy the cocktail at their Excecutive lounge
What I most like is the location, my view and my breakfast. The location is very central, near to most the tourism object in jakarta such as Cathedral, Istiqlal Mosque, Presidential Palace, Pasar Baru, Old Batavia and the road Pecenongan is known for their 24 Hours foods, restaurant, food hawker, you name it. My room is located at the high floor I can see Cathedral and the Mosque side by side it was so beautiful.
It a nice hotel with good location. Below is full of local food. i would say the disappointment is that the room design is very outdated, as there is not centralise switches for all the light. The lighting inside there room is too dark. Internet is very unstable and always got disconnected. Internet speed is slow too. As a biz travaller, internet is very important part when i select hotel. Bed is not comfortable also.
I arrived with really high expectations of this hotel being on standards to the typical Indonesian boutique hotels, just as what they're promoting themselves to be. The only positive aspects of this hotel are its comfy beds and proximity to the 'free' tourist buses (which comes every hour sporadically). However Go-jek or for hire motorbikes are aplenty and easy to get hold of. Now onwards to the bad parts - on my second night, the hotel has decided to repair its hot water system, on a long weekend Saturday. So no hot water for the majority of the morning, and when I came back to the room - stale brown water came flowing out of the shower hose! Imagine my shock and horror as I was about to proceed to shower. The hotel did not even bother trying to make it right for me by offering me another place to shower, until I demanded to shower at the spa (in which is actually fantastic, as I've gotten a massage in the afternoon). So hotel management 101s - have a backup just in case things like these happen and be quick to offer a remedy. Until then, it is unlikely I'll stay at the hotel again for my future trips to Jakarta.
The location is right in the centre of food district in Jakarta. Very convenience for those who seek for culinary experience. Besides, it also close to numerous important government ministry building. About the hotel itself, check in experience was ok, the hotel is well-maintained I suppose given the age is 10 years+. I slept in extra bed for a night, but chose to have another room instead because the extra bed was not convenience at all, because there's a gap or I feel something hard in the middle part, I think it's because they use flip bed type of extra bed. Breakfast was tasty. Many Indonesian traditional food can be found here, and they actually taste good too. When we were there, the pool was closed due to private event, which I think it's not a big deal for such city hotel. On the other hand, I think the pool area really suitable for up to 50 people event such as birthday, or corporate dinner. Nice ambience over there.
During a recent business trip, I stayed for a night at Alila Jakarta in their Executive Suite. Despite the old age (more than 15yo), the suite, the furniture, the building and its facilities are surprisingly well maintained and still look impeccable. The atmosphere is soothing and relaxing, I almost forget that I am in the Metropolis City of Jakarta. Alila hotels and resorts are well-known for its luxury modern minimalistic designs and I can say Alila Jakarta is meeting this standard. If you want to sample Indonesian local food, in the evening you can just go out of the hotel, there are plenty of food stalls to select from. All within walking distance. Over all it is a GREAT stay and I will definitely will come back! Highly recommend! BIG thanks for Salman for the assistance and hospitality :)
