We stumbled across the Diamante del Sol condos when looking for places that we could stay using our credit card reward points. We came across this condo (N702) offered by Costa Rica Holiday Rentals and decided it would be a good option for our family of 6. We were not disappointed. The condo was modernly furnished with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths and it even comes with its own pool table (which our 4 kids absolutely loved). There is quick access to the beach and everything in the town is a 5-10 minute walk. I will say that we were there on Easter week and would recommend avoiding that week if you do not like crowds. For the first few days there were hundreds of local Costa Ricans camping on the beach which was a little weird, but this condo was so high up that we really didn't see them unless we looked down. Once Easter hit (and the local election), everyone was gone and the beach was fantastic.
We rented a four bedroom/4.5 bath condo for our family. The balconies look out on the Pacific Ocean, and they are huge and spacious. On the first day the refrigerator died. We went over to the rental agency and another one was swapped out from another condo. We also had another issue with the air conditioning leaking, and again we went over to the agency and it was fixed right away. The building itself is very well-maintained, has excellent elevators, the parking lot is gated, and there is plenty of assistance out by the pool. You only have to walk one block to get out on the main drag to do all your shopping and sightseeing. The only negative was our Wi-Fi was great when it worked for some of the time, but there were times when it didn’t work at all. The Wi-Fi was better by the pool. The pool actually has two sections with a little bit of a bridge and some soaking stations. It also has access out to the beach.
Our family rented a 3 bedroom condo last March break (2017). The building and area was beautiful, the pool was terrific and we had such a wonderful time. The condo we had overlooked the ocean. We were a few minute walk to the main strip and grocery stores so we would walk to the supermarket each day for groceries. The complex was gated and had 24x7 security. This is a place I would definitely return to. The owner had a concierge that helped us with any transportation or needs that we had.
Stayed here for 5 days during a fishing trip and the apartment was perfect with 3 large bed rooms on suit. Beds were very comfortable and bed rooms spacious. Good kitsch if you like to cook as well. Fantastic sea view a and nice outside patios connected to the living room. Highly recommended!
We stayed in condo #402S. If you are just looking for a review of Diamante del Sol, then go ahead and book your vacation. The condo's are fabulous. The buildings are located very centrally in Jaco, withing easy walking distance of shopping, restaurants, and a supermarket. Of course, some of the details will vary depending on the unit that you rent See below... We just got home from a week in condo 402S. The views are stunning, even better than the photos. It is very centrally located in Jaco. The security gates and personnel at the pool make the grounds very safe, and keep beach goers out of the pool area. The pool is huge and very clean, with immediate access to Jaco beach. The beds were very comfortable, but some of the other furniture could use updating, Overall the place is great, and we'd have no problem recommending it to others. From other reviews, we were expecting to find a polluted beach, but this was not the case. The beach was great for strolling and running. It stretches just about 2 miles long.
We stayed on the 5th floor south tower and the balcony was shaded until about 2:00pm which is very nice because that sun is very strong and allowed a brak fom the heat when needed, great for morning coffee and watching surfers in the sunset! Great location near grocery stores, pharmacy, many bars and restaurants, we didn't swim in pool but many people spent the day enjoying the relaxing pool area with waterfalls.
This is a mixed use pair of condo buildings - meaning, some are resident owners and some are rented to vacationers. Since this is probably the most expensive place to stay in Jaco, you will notice some nice cars in the parking lot and most of the residents are a bit older - definitely not a young, loud hip crowd. Security is fantastic as they have a 24/7 guard by the pool to make sure noone comes onto the grounds off the beach. The guards at the main gate take their job pretty seriously as well. Overall, I would definitely stay there again. The common areas are very clean. If your intention is to really use the kitchens in these units, expect to find some things lacking - very little cooking accessories and utensils but there is a large market within 5 minute walk that has everything u need. Our 3BR unit had newer furniture, everything was in good condition (1st 4 pics), W/D was in unit. Our friends stayed in the 10th floor duplex penthouse and it was absolutely magnificent. (last 4 pics)
This was our second time in Jaco, with friends this time, our condo was just perfectly located, Within walking distance from all kinds of restaurants and grocery, produce store... Both rooms were essentially the same with walk-in washroom and plenty of storage. The washer-dryer & dishwasher made our life easy... In short, a perfect spot for perfect vacation
This is a fabulous condo with a spectacular view, but I couldn't give it five or even four stars as the furnishings were very tired and in need of an overall update to be a 5 star condo! I will write the cons and follow up with the pros . Con's: The leather cream colored sofa was filthy dirty. We put a sheet over it and we aren't clean freaks, but the grime that was embedded in the leather was really disgusting. The coffee table and end tables were also really beat up, in addition, there were absolutely no rugs in the entire villa to catch any sand or to just make it a more welcoming feeling. We did find two very dirty area rugs in the closets which no doubt was put in there as they were so dirty. The patio/balcony furniture was so old that it was literally disintegrating while we were there. Pieces of the plastic wicker were all over the entire patio and had to be cleaned up several times a day. As for the bath towels in the condo... what a joke! They seriously looked like rags for cleaning--maybe they were and forgot to take them when they last cleaned. I don't even care if the towels didn't match, but the white face washcloths (total of only 3!), white hand towels, and white bath towels were actually a grayish tinged color. We walked to the little grocery store and bought bleach to wash them BEFORE we used them. This isn't something one should have to do on vacation. The strong mold smell noted upon arrival did dissipate after a while with keeping open the patio doors to let it fresh air but as soon as we turned on the air conditioners it would start to smell again. I understand the rationale for using "swamp coolers" as they are more energy efficient, but at the cost of the mold smell I don't think it is worth it. One family member with asthma couldn't even have the air on in her room due to the mold smell. On the super hot and humid days...the "swamp coolers" just didn't cut it for us. Lastly, if one wants to have a chair at the pool plan on getting up at 5am to "save" your chair! It was so frustrating that all the chairs were saved but nobody sat in them until 1 or 2 pm. We did have the security guard remove stuff from a few of them one day and received the rath of a crazy lady after she showed up 3 hours later. Pros: Spectacular views! The fireworks on the beach on New Years Eve was fabulous and an added bonus to our vacation. The condo is in a great location to walk to many restaurants in town and close to small grocery store. The beds were comfortable with adequate bedding. Always a huge bonus for us to have a washer and dryer in a unit when we travel as a family. The property management group (Lost Beach Vacations) that SeaBreeze Rentals uses in Jaco was fabulous to work with to arrange transportation, tours, and troubleshoot small things for us. We even had them grocery shop for us prior to our arrival which was very convenient for us. Would we stay again: It depends if the condo gets updated with newer furniture we would highly consider it, but given we paid premium prices for the holiday week we expected more.
Great location, views and property. Everything is exactly as advertised: a nicely furnished and equipped condo in a prime location. It is very problem free: you get your keys on day one, you do your own thing: laundry, meals in the kitchen(if you prefer), as much or little housekeeping as you want and no one bothers you during your stay. At the end you turn your keys in and no extraneous charges, end of a great stay. Great for the independent traveler.
