Copacabana Hotel And Suites - Adults Only3.0 out of 5.0

This is one of the worst places I've ever stayed at. The room itself was decent, but the terrace and jacuzzi were filthy. The windows were so dirty you could hardly see through them. So much for an ocean view. Although my booking was for two people, I had to fight for a second pool towel and while most of the staff was friendly, the woman at the reception had a mean attitude. The place was empty at night with hardly a soul at the bar, yet they blasted loud music, so you could neither rest nor party. There was some nudity during the day, but this place is not an adult playground or a naturist's hangout. Jaco has decent nightlife, but this resort is a good 30-40 minute walk from the town center where most of the fun takes place. You can stay far closer to the center at this price. I could have stayed at a four star hotel in the middle of Paris for this much money, yet this hotel didn't even have a phone in the room. You can stay at much nicer places for the price while in Jako... and you should.
I agree with the last reviewer...this place is a dump. The only 2 good things about this place was the location and friendly front desk person. The hotel looks nothing like the pictures shown online. Our room was tiny, definitely not big enough for two people. The room as well as the overall "resort" was dirty and unkept. The room was also dark, not bright and airy as portrayed in internet photos. There were cats lying around on pool chairs like they were guests there. The "themed" party nights were dead, no one was around but the DJ on any of the nights we passed through. This was my first visit to Costa Rica and definitely the worst hotel I've stayed in. I will not be returning nor referring this place to anyone. I don't understand why this place was rated highly online. Someone obviously doesn't have good taste.
I am in disbelief that people actually have good reviews about this place! It is a run down dive!! From the water damage in our room, the smell of mildew and mold, cigarette burns on the toilet seats, shower doors that wouldn't open, no hot water (then no cold water) in the showers, toilets that don't flush, phones not working, unkept grounds, lots of mosquitos, iguana feces falling from the ceilings, paper thin walls, paint peeling off the walls, to the rancid vegetable oil the food was cooked in and served as salad dressing, mayo used in place of salad dressing, prostitutes hanging out at the bar, etc.etc.etc. We only stayed because we had already paid in advance and they would not let us cancel upon arrival.
We staying during the low season (last week), so the hotel was not very busy. The staff was wonderful and super helpful at all times. The food at the restaurant was very good and the price was comparable to other places in Jaco. We had a smaller room upon arriving, but they upgraded us to a very nice larger room. The staff was the best part! Good drinks as well at a fair price. Hotel could use some updating, but most hotels in the Caribbean and Central America do in my mind. We really enjoyed the place and are already planning on a return trip! It is just a very short walk to all the shopping and bars. Walked all over at night and felt very safe in the town of Jaco. Wish we was still there!!!!
We stayed at Copa Cabana for a week and had a great time. Perfect location, great food, very clean rooms, wonderful pool and bar areas. Best of all was the staff they were always friendly and helpful and you were treated like friends while you were there. We had an ocean front room where you could watch the action out on the beach and would recommend staying in one of them. We were all inclusive and the food was good enough that you didn't want to go anywhere else. Crowd changes from day to day at the hotel but we did meet a few couples that were fun to party with during our stay and if there is nobody around the staff is fun to hang out with. We had such a good time in Jaco we will be going back and will for sure stay at Copa Cabana when we do!
I stayed at the Copacabana Hotel for 8 days , I had stayed there before but only for 2 days a year ago and the food was good and the staff was very nice and helpful. So I decided to return for a longer visit. On Saturday night they had a BBQ a group that I met of 8 people and I had 4 to 5 different items on the menu, The food was so good and not just at the BBQ anytime We ate there it was great. I even went as far as to personally tip the cook my self. and telling her that she needed to go back with me home to be my cook at home. the staff guided me to the off road experience where you ride the 4 wheeler s in to the jungle. of which one had the best view and an extra hour of riding at the same cost. my room was on the beach with a hot tub on the balcony. I could not have had a better time.
Very nice hotel...but take care not to be there at the time of a local holiday,as it's an ocean view we were in the firing line for ALL private music, people coming and going, living on the beach, meeting point for half the population..or at least that was how it felt. The optional clothing was the main reason for booking this hotel and of course the ocean view,we had a jacuzzi on our balcony but never used it because of the noise from the surroundings.
We stayed for one week at the Copacabana and we had a great time!! the staff was helpful and friendly, our room clean with ocean view, open shower and jacuzzi on the balcony. We were all inclusive and room service is without extra charge. The restaurant has great food, awesome seafood and BBQ! There is some working girls but really they are over all Jaco so no a big thing. We will be back for the halloween week . Thanks for a good time
If your looking for a clothing optional resort that's what you get. That's a good thing the property is in a great location, The staff are few so they multi-task and not that well. The only brite light was Becky she was outstanding as bartender, waiter, and she corrdinated our dinner on the beach and even booked our tour. The food was excelent, same menu every day except for dinnr specials, but everything was very good quality, well seasoned and prepared, even the presentation was great. The property itself needs upgrading and better upkeep, and yes, its considered beachfront, but you will be About 500 ft from the beach, and its a public beach so keep your swimwear ON. You can rent an umbrella and 2 chairs from a guy on the beach for $20 until sunset, when he starts gathering everything. Power and internet were sporadic. The only entertainment is Wed night karaoke, so plan to go elsewhere or go to sleep early, there are some local bars in walking distance.
It is a very nice place to visit if you like adult only hotels with optional clothing, I really liked that option and service from the hotel and the food is very tasty. Rooms are comfty and nice for good rest.
