My wife and I enjoyed a 24 day stay at the Ixtapa Palace in February 2019. The Palace is an older, established resort that is very well maintained. It consists of two buildings with a variety of different suites and room configurations. It would seem that most, if not all, have balconies overlooking one of the three very pleasant outdoor pools found on the property. Our one-bedroom reservation featured two balconies and a partial kitchen, which included a microwave, toaster, coffee machine, blender, and small refrigerator as well as table settings and cutlery for four. There were two queen size beds in the suite and two separate couches that convert into beds if required. The unit was exceptionally clean and daily maid service was provided. As mentioned in other reviews, the resort is very well situated with the beach a pleasant 8-minute walk away, and a multitude of restaurants and shops within a 4-minute walk of the front door. Stops for the local minivan buses, serving the Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo region are conveniently located just steps from the entrance as well. There is an excellent restaurant at the Palace which was open through lunch and dinner. It featured a varied menu with a focus on seafood at very reasonable prices. Live entertainment was featured most evenings during our stay. There is also a well-equipped gym on-site offering a number of fitness courses. A small daily fee was applicable for guests of the resort to use the gym facilities. Management and staff at the Ixtapa Palace were friendly and attentive to day to day inquiries or special requests. We truly enjoyed our stay and intend to return sometime in the future!

Even though it is not beach front, it is central to downtown Ixtapa and only a 5 minute walk to the beach. Upgrades to wifi and TV were being done when we arrived and made a big difference. Pool was cleaned daily even if the resort was not at full capacity and on some days, hardly used. Above all, the customer service is outstanding here!

family traveled , 4 adults and 2 teens, booked two (2 ) bedroom units at the Ixtapa Palacde, they could not stay there. Rooms had balcny doors that did not lock. The waterslides in all the pools were in non-working condition. Stairs were pulling away from walls, unsafe to use. No locked or security entrance, so rooms were street accessable. Safe did not work in one, moved to 4 different rooms, before reaching out to RCi and moving to a different resort that was available. RCI need to re-assess the Ixtapa Palace and should not be part of RCi inventory

It was the first time I went to a week long spa vacation. I enjoyed it so much I booked again this year. You could do as much as you wanted. The massages were wonderful. We had plenty to do to keep ourselves busy every day.

Friendly staff spacious room. No bugs. Can’t say anything bad. Convenient Location to restaurants bars and corner store right across the street. Nice twenty minute leisurely walk to beach. For the price great value.

Spent 5 days at this resort in February 2019. The resort is older and not right on the water which we knew before going so this was expected. It is very nicely located by the shops, restaurants and various beaches (short drive to la ropa beach which was a favourite). All in all, didn’t spend much time at the resort other than for sleeping as we enjoyed the days at the beach. What would have been nice is for the rooms to have somewhere comfortable to relax after the day out and about. Our room had two bedrooms but the living room area also had two queen beds which, in our opinion, would have been better served to switch one of the beds out for a pull out couch, chair and coffee table so that you had somewhere comfortable to sit and relax. The kitchen table just doesn’t cut it for comfort in the evening and having the family all sprawled out on the beds in the living room just wasn’t that comfortable, especially when all the beds are very firm (hard as rocks, lol) Daily housekeeping was a nice treat but the lack of hot water for showering made for very quick clean ups of ourselves. The pool area is ok but lacking a view of anything nice to see so that’s why we headed for the beaches. The restaurant was handy for the odd meal but there are so many great restaurants nearby that we tried to get out to try each of them, Deborah’s was a favourite for sure. The staff were all great and very accommodating at the front counter and restaurant. This resort is very reasonably priced, and in a pinch, would stay there again.

This place is run down , dirty and disgusting . Booked and paid for 7 days but only stayed for 3 . Moved to another hotel in the area ( at an extra expense ) because this place is soooo bad . Beds are hard and smelly . When we checked in the sheets were covered in hair and stains. Fridge would not get cold. Patio door would not close or lock properly , we did not feel safe at night. We called the front desk to ask for another room and got NO help only rude attitude . It took over an hour to get clean sheets ( than didn't fit the bed ) .Had a ground floor unit and the garden outside had a strong urine smell . The AC was on a timer switch which shut off every 10- 15 minutes. THIS IS A DISGUSTING RUN DOWN HOLE, DON'T STAY HERE !!!!

This property has some benefits in that they have a large pool area, a restaurant onsite and it is located very conveniently in the heart of Ixtapa. You cannot access the beach though unless you take a cab down to the end of the strip where the public can enter it. So, even though it is two blocks from the beach, you cannot get to it.

Staff are great - location is very convenient. I would NEVER stay at this hotel again - the noise from the gym is excessive. The hotel staff allowed the pool and area to be used throughout the night for 3 nights with music and noise all night long. Vacations are for some peace and quiet - spin classes start at 7:30 am most days - there is not much peace and quiet at this hotel. Hotel needs a total update. Pool area nice.

Resort was in shambles...no hot water...pool bar not functional....restaurant not affiliated w/resort, so no food/drinks ava at pool. Pool very small (picture is deceiving)...resort in bad condition (concrete chipped everywhere)...unit had no chairs/table on balcony, no hooks for towels in bathroom, only one outlet in kitchen, no kitchen supplies provided, etc.
