We just returned from a 2 week stay at Ixtapa Palace. The rooms were clean, the staff were kind and helpful. The resort is in a great location with access to the restaurant on site or to many restaurants within walking distance. We knew that the resort was not on the beach and we were okay with that. We would definitely return to the Ixtapa Palace.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, great restaurant on site, wasn't open for breakfast when we were there, buts lots of places to eat in Ixtapa close to the palace. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, it is an older resort but they are doing renos, new t.v. microwaves, air conditioning, . There are 2 main pool areas with lots of seating, clean, has a decent gym. The beach is a ten to fifteen minutes walk away, Ixtapa has a great beach. Public transportation is basically right out the door and can take you to Zihuatanejo or playa linda. I would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I recently spent four months in Ixtapa Mexico as new snowbirds from Canada. We did not have accommodations at Ixtapa Palace, but we wanted to share our personal experiences spent every day using various resort amenities. From our first interaction with Leonel, Jesse, and the other resort staff, we experienced outstanding customer service and friendliness! They were keen to welcome us to the resort and were always open to share valuable information about services for us to explore. As fitness fanatics, we were thrilled to learn of the Ixtapa Palace gym and pool facilities and the opportunity to purchase a monthly pass at a more than reasonable price. Our schedule included lifting weights, attending Zumba or step classes, enjoying the pools, and having fun with the ping pong, basketball, tennis, and mini golf! We really found Ixtapa Palace to have a positive vibe and the gym members soon became our amigos/amigas. We even got invited to various group activities with gym members that we really appreciated and highlights the inclusive and positive culture of the resort. Having visited Ixtapa Palace over the 4 months, we can honestly say the staff is hard working, cleaning is ongoing, the restaurant is well-attended, the grounds are well maintained with regards to greenery and painting, and the open-air concept gives the palace a real tropical paradise feel. There are three clean salt water wonderful pools that all have a different shape and size and one has a delightful waterfall. Overall it offers a lot of amenities for individuals and families. Regarding Ixtapa Palace rooms, we did not stay as we were renting a condo elsewhere, but we did receive a tour of various hotel rooms that might suit our needs and we found they had spacious kitchenettes, patios, and looked to be well equip accomodation. We are avid cyclists and really loved the central location of Ixtapa Palace as it is nearby shopping, restaurants, bars, is an approximately a 5 min walk to Playa El Palmar and just off the cyclopista that takes you all around Ixtapa, to Playa Linda, the Marina, and even Zihuantanejo. Ixtapa Palace is an older charming resort with lots of character, personality and provides travellers a positive non-all-inclusive experience in beautiful Ixtapa Mexico! We are returning to the area next winter and plan to spend a lot of time at Ixtapa Palace as it has become a home away from home and truly a highlight of our Mexican holiday experience!

This is our first time to Ixtapa. Such a positive experience for us. We have spent four months here. November December January and February. We have a condominium close to Ixtapa Palace and ride our bikes here every day to use the gym, pools and facilities. From the first day we have been very impressed with the staff and level of customer service. Very friendly. Very helpful. Everyone speaks English and Spanish very well. Our pass allows us monthly access to the gym, classes, the pool deck, at the basketball court and recreation area. The Gym is older and semi outdoor with no air-conditioning. This may seem like a negative but we really enjoy it compared to our gym at home. A true tropical experience. Many locals attend this gym. They are wonderful people and we have made many Friends. The fitness classes are included five days a week in our pass. Zumba, Cuban dance, strength/aerobics. All fantastic. The facility is kept very clean. All three pools are kept very clean. We often stay the afternoon to use the basketball court and recreation area. This is a very quiet resort. Generally not a lot of people during the day. Perfect for relaxing by the pool.

Queen size, to them, means a double. When we pointed this out, they still insisted that it was a queen. Not even close. The room with a king was a two storey, with 2 doubles on main floor, and king upstairs. The stairs were a spiral, that were extremely small, and at the top, there were no railings, just an open pit to the bottom. An accident waiting to happen. No WiFi. No Breakfast, as nothing opens until 10am. Had to go across the street to an Oxxo, just to get a coffee. Coffee maker in the room was on its last legs. No filters, nor coffee.

No one spoke English. The hotel maids washed the dishes 1 then entire stay and dry the dishes with Kleenex which was stuck to the bowls and glasses. the floor was always sandy. The Jacuzzi was in the gym and broken. The swim up bar had mold hanging from the overhang and nothing to eat or drink. The Water World was closed and filthy. We had no towels for 4 days. When they say us walking toward the front desk, the hotel personnel ducked out. No one took credit cards. The beds and couches were hard as the slab of cement they sat on. Our patio looked over the broken mountain slide.

In January we stay at a beach resort, but when I come other times of the year I don't want the touristy stay. The Ixtapa Palace had everything I desired, VERY CLEAN room, decent bed and pillows, warm shower, kitchenette. EXELLENT maid and front desk people, small balcony, I only used the pool once in 10 days but that was my choice. The location is 2-3 minute walk to shops, restaurants, bars etc maybe 5 minutes to beach. Excellent restaurant here but I like to eat at a lot of other places while I am there. The price was also EXCELLENT but wasn't high season. I will definitely stay here again, just remember it is not a beachfront resort

Too many things to talk about . The staff made it feel like home they reconize us every year and are very friendly. The food was great especially breakfast ! Our room was clean and we had a perfect view of the ocean . My husband loved the gym and was in it every day and raved about the people who worked there especially Jonathan . Lots to do every day and shows every night . We met some lovely people there . But lost emails to see if they were returning this year . But I'm sure they will be most of the people we talked to have been going there for years . This year will be our 5 th year returning and we always come in March for our anniversary . This year we will try out the premium package because I love my internet and that's the only problem I have with the hotel is Paying for Internet and the bad connection , very fraustrating when you are there for 3 weeks , Can't wait to go back to get another tattoo in Mexico from Pelon he's the best . right across from Frank's restaurant who serves the Amazing shrimp ! Hi Gloria Mendiola thank you for the wonderful vacation looking forward to seeing you again at the end of Feb. 2016 you can't miss us because my husbands the one wearing a cowboy hat !

This year we changed it up a bit and decided to let someone else take charge of booking reservations. Needless to say, there is always a first and LAST time for everything. At first sight it seemed decent. Views from the room were beautiful as the entire city in green with beautiful foliage. We were not beach side. The internet pictures are very outdated. My daughter was delighted when she saw that included in the hotel pictures were a wave pool, water slides and more than 3 pools with cascades to enjoy. However, the website did not say that these attractions are only open to guests for about 2 hours out of the day and at an additional charge. And access to these attractions is not immediate from the hotel grounds, you have to walk out of the hotel and enter through the main road. The nightmare began when in the morning after crashing with exhaustion we noticed something in our bed. Hundreds of little bugs!!!!!! Dead but still in our bed!!!! To add to this our ac unit wasnt cooling much, we figured it was the 300% humidity index. We requested to be moved to a different room so first thing we did was check the bed and thankfully it was clean. We still requested that our room be sprayed just in case. We shouldn't have done this because by the time we returned to our room soaked in sweat and dehydrated the bed was full of bugs AGAIN!!!! We spoke to the service desk and they stated that any claims would have to be go through the agency used to book this hotel >{. The only positive experience was the hotel restaurant which did not disappoint with their service and meals. The waiters even serviced poolside with anything you'd like from the menu to include snacks, meals, beer and cocktails.

WE ARE here for. A month. DON'T pay in advance as in think you will be disapointed. The place. IS a disapointment.first not clean, anywhere, pool. Apron has not been even swept this year, guests clean their own, loungers.WHAT doesn't that tell you., WE asked to have different mattresses and pillows, 3 times, finally got something decent.,the lounge cushions are all ripped. I will say the restaurant is GOOD..we have been coming to mexico for 35 years,. Stayed in many places, all much cheaper, always clean. Tip. DON'T book with,,,,,,not changes or refunds also they have a gym, where they deafen you with the beat, rap. , rap, crap
