Lovely hotel and the owner, Julia, was wonderful - welcoming and always ready to help. The young man at the desk in the evenings was nowhere near as pleasant, sadly, and we struggled to get useful local info from him on the crucial first night when we, as two women, were trying to orient ourselves. He was completely uninterested, which is a real shame as all the other staff (including the lovely breakfast cook) are so friendly and kind. The rooms are small but perfectly fine, esp if you don't have much luggage. No lift but it's a small hotel of maybe around 15 rooms. Be sure to turn left out of the hotel to get to the restaurants and tourist areas. The area you have to pass through to the right is poorly lit and less pleasant - the route the young man told us to take :/ And again, contrary to what he said, it's perfectly easy to find vegetarian food locally. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Istanbul and would happily recommend 9 Doors - the hotel just needs to ditch the rude and unhelpful young man (wish I had noted his name)!

I loved my stay here. As a solo female traveller I need somewhere safe but nearby to attractions and also good value. My room was lovely and cosy as the bed area was in a separate room. Bathroom always had hot water and staff were helpful and kind.

Very friendly and hospitable staff. The lady checked me in earlier and even sat me down for breakfast since it was cold and rainy outside. I also had to head to Ankara to pick my passport up from the post office and they even offered to hold my luggage till I got back the next day.

Everyone we spoke with was kind, helpful and engaging. The breakfast was delicious and just right to start the day. We lived how beautiful and personable the hotel was and we look forward to returning back in the future. Definitely need your walking shoes for all of Istanbul and 9 Doors is no exception, but there is plenty of restaurants, shops and near so many major beautiful wonders. Thank you for a wonderful time.

Property is on a dark secluded street outside tram tracks. Room had dumpsters outside the window so kept hearing rubbish being collected along with the terrible smell which meant we can’t open windows, on top of the sound of trams going by. Breakfast was very bad, fruit wasn’t fruit and the options were very limited despite being a buffet.

Had a lovely stay here for a city break. Convenient to get to the main Sultanahmet area and get public transport. A lovely hub for a busy weekend. You need to be fit and healthy to walk up and down hill to reach the hotel, so would not recommend for elderly and anyone with health issues. Thanks for a great stay!

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights.The room were clean ,in great condition ,free wifi ,with fridge and has free bottled water.We had a great night sleep, not noisy outside. All the Staff assigned at the reception was very friendly, helpful and polite.Breakfast was very good and the staff assigned was a nice lady. Location is excellent, very convenient to all parts of the city and area has excellent food and shopping options. It is 5 minutes walking distance to SultanAhmet Mosque.We had a great stay and I will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends.
