Great location and suite accommodations. Full service market on first floor
The location was great to get to shops and restaurants. The hotel had guest park in the public ramp and then validated you parking ticket.
Nice room but have not been kept up over the years. Many things broken or worn out and not replaced.
Customer service was poor, had to pay for parking while staying at hotel, concrete floors, noisy. Room lacked information regarding surrounding area, pop up make shift check-in, no breakfast or option to purchase breakfast. The cost of $164 for 1 night was ridiculous considering what the room looked like and the lack of ammenities.
Bathroom door handle broken. Asked to have it fixed and never happened Room was nice. Enjoyed the bath. Loved having such a dog friendly hotel
There was no vending machine on our floor. When I called down to enquire about one, I was told i had to go to another floor. When I went to another floor, there was only a pop machine, no snacks. Ice bucket was very small. The person behind the desk was always on her phone, though she did have a friendly personality and took care of us when needed. The shelf above the toilet is a dangerous location. Ran into it sharply and left with a bruise. Worst of all, hot water ran out. With a large tub in the room, something should be done to fix this. Absolutely unacceptable to only have warm water for a bath and shower. Very disappointed I spent a lot of money for such sub-par accommodations.
I think the architects had a modernistic look in mind. It's more form over function and the room was showing some age in frayed carpet, blinds, sheet rock and drink spots on the ceiling. Overall the staff was friendly. Parking is extra at the City Garage. Breakfast is shared with the Sheraton and not included. The room was fine but not particularly impressive for the money.
I stayed there for 4 days and it was the perfect location for being in the center of it all. Within walking distance to campus, restaurants, coffee shops, bookstores and bars.
No clock, no utensils, phone dials didn't work, loud, other guests kept knocking on door. Need more help at front desk. Generally, the place is not congenial. Prefer the Sheraton.
Everything about the hotel was good. From the restaurant to the surrounding bars.
Great room, amazing bathroom, excellent location. Fitness center was small, pool but no jacuzzi.
My Son and I were in the area to visit a variety of college campus's in the area. The location was good, walking distance to restaurants and VERY comfy pillows and beds. We would stay here again.
Remarkable hotel in the heart of Iowa City. The service was incredible from the front desk team to housekeeping. Responsive, professional and kind. The rooms are very (!) spacious with lovely views of downtown Iowa City. It is a true gem and I highly recommend staying there when visiting IC.
Regrettably we were in Iowa City for just a one night stay for a special occasion. Our stay at the hotelVetro was very, very, nice. The staff at check-in was courteous and efficient. When I needed some help find a boutique close by she had the perfect solution. The room was very different and it's ultra modern design made for a relaxing stay. Great experience and we plan to stay here again.
We walked into the Hotel Vetro and it seemed very Metropolitan. It was on the heart of downtown Iowa city. Only a block from the theater we were going to and within walking distance of many restaurants and bars. The pedestrian mall was hopping with people just outside and it felt like great nightlife was happening, even for grown-ups, not just for college kids. The room itself was gorgeous with floor to ceiling windows with a great view of town. The room was very comfortable with a very neat modern aesthetic. I was very pleased and will stay there again when I'm in Iowa city.
Hotel Vetro is an impressive hotel, located right downtown. If you plan on enjoying Iowa City nightlife, this is the one. Clean, modern, and fairly priced.
My daughter and I stayed in this hotel on a college visit. We absolutely loved it. Beds were very comfortable. Room was very clean. We also loved the fact that they have large garden tubs, as well as separate showers. My daughter is 6'0" and the outside temperature for us, was really cold. So, for her to be able to soak in a warm tub was great. The staff was always courteous and knowledgeable. Will recommend to anyone going to Iowa city.
