Location is excellent - very close to train station. Staff was pleasant and efficient. Free breakfast was a plus. The room was very small. The hotel is dated. There is a small lift but we still had to go up a short flight of stairs to get to our room. It was fine for a shot stay.

An absolute nightmare in freezing weather. I came back to Hotel Goldene Krone around 22:30 and found the front door lock completely broken — my key didn’t work, and no one answered calls or emails. Their voicemail only said to “send an email” while I was left standing outside in near-freezing temperatures. The Austrian police came, confirmed the lock was broken, and told me to find another place to stay for safety. I ended up paying €162 out of pocket for an emergency hotel just to have a roof over my head. When I returned the next day, the hotel admitted the lock was broken and had the entrance propped open. On top of that, the shower in my room had black mold — completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one claiming to be 3 stars. This wasn’t a small inconvenience — it was a complete failure of safety, hygiene, and basic professionalism. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone.

This place is definitely not a 3 star hotel. Its more like a budget motel. So nothing matches up with the price. Hotel is super old and dated. Everything is dark. Beds were lumpy and old. Shower drain was super slow and overflowed. No hair dryer in room. Walls were paper thin. Window glass rattled each time a bus drove by. Breakfast was cold and lacklustre. Suggestion: choose a hotel slightly farther ftom train station. Innsbruck has an excellent bus system. Buses run every 10 mins or less on most routes.

Really like the location of this hotel...especially for the rate. The rooms are simple, but clean, safe, and staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend for those on a budget.

This was a good price, which is what I was looking for when booking. It could have been cleaner (there was debris on the carpet), but the staff were very nice and the breakfast was nice to have included. I needed the windows open for air flow since it was stuffy inside, so the street noise was a problem for me when sleeping. Be aware of that, but the price is right if you are trying to stay on a budget!

Great location

Located was perfect, 6 minutes walk from the train station, you could see it from the breakfast room window. Also easy walking distance to the old town. The welcome card was useful as it gave you free local transport, we used it to go up into the forest. The room was a bit dated but clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a strange plastic room, but everything worked great, and it was a nice powerful shower. Staff were very helpful and friendly. You could also leave your luggage in storage if you was early, which we did. Be aware its not a 24 hour reception, we didn't find this a problem though. Breakfast was delicious and we found there was plenty to eat and drink. Highly recommend.

Good location; good breakfast; good friendly customer service BUT the hotel is very tired, worse than a budget chain and there was no aircon which meant very little sleep in 30’C summer. I would recommend paying a little bit extra and staying somewhere else.

No Luggage Storage in the Hotel

Their service is terrible. I was a solo traveller and wanted to keep my Luggage in the hotel before and after my check in and check out respectively. The hotel refused to keep my luggage saying that there will be absolutely no staff in the hotel to collect / give the luggage back. It becomes very inconvenient for me to manage my luggage while traveling outside. Otherwise, the hotel provided basic facilities and the location was convenient.
