Residence Inn by Marriott Indianapolis Downtown on the Canal

Residence Inn is the only hotel in Indy on the canal. All of the staff that we encountered during our stay was very friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. From the maids to the front desk personnel, everyone had a smile on their face and a friendly greeting. Emily is a very hard worker, chipping in to help serving breakfast and working the front desk like a pro. We will definitely stay here again.

I was pleased with the staff very friendly the place was always clean and smelled nice . I was surprised at the size of the room very comfortable and roomy . It was close to everything downtown and a pretty little canal ran by the back very lovely ! I will definitely stay here again and suggest it to my family and friends !

The good? The staff and the location were both great. Located on the canal and within walking distance of a lot of sites, it was a great place to stay in that regard. What could have been better? THE BED WAS AWFUL. Hard -- certainly nothing I expected for the price point. And the kitchen should have a full oven. Only a stove top and their "convection oven" -- which I think was just a good microwave -- limited my cooking options. If you are going to pitch your hotel as a "residence" then a full oven -- even a small one -- is an absolute necessity.

Great location in town. Super friendly staff. The breakfast buffet is all you need to start your day, and the rooms are well-kept. Even if you don't need a kitchen you should consider this hotel. A great way to have a home-away-from-home!

Room was very nice and spacious, staff is responsive, great location, breakfast was great with plenty of options. Overall I was happy with my stay. The windows/walls on the canal side are thin, so every group of people that walked by sounded like they were inside the room (2nd floor). Air conditioning system is very loud and woke us up often. Bathroom exhaust fan also loud and is on the same switch as the fluorescent light in the bathroom. My wife and I also found the bed to be uncomfortable and not of a high quality, every time one of us moved, the other was bounced around.

We were travelling as a family with a person in a wheelchair and this hotel made every accommodation. Staff were wonderful, room fit our needs.

Beautiful setting right on the canal. Parking was reasonable compared to other hotels. Very good breakfast, games for the kids. The pool and hot tub could've been warmer. Katie at the front desk was a pleasure!

The hotel itself is great. Very clean, free coffee and hot chocolate all day long. Breakfast is a free buffet style with great food. This particular hotel sits on a gorgeous canal. If you're looking for a romantic, quiet walk late at night, this is the place to stay. My only complaint is parking. It was $17 per night. Not that the price was a big deal, but I didn't find out until we were checking out that parking was not included. Also the doors aren't very sound resistant. Otherwise, it was a truly awesome stay and I will be staying again soon.

The staff was excellent, very helpful and willing to answer any questions I had. Even suggested a local pizza place for delivery. The pizza was very good. The rooms we very nice and the lights at night were very gorgeous.

we were very pleased with our stay. the location on the canal was beautiful. would go back there again. the staff were so nice to our family.

I was not informed there would be a 17.00 per night parking fee!

We went to Indy for a bachelorette party and stayed at the Residence. Great hotel, very nice staff, close proximity to all the major downtown destinations. We felt safe walking everywhere. The morning breakfast was nice, lots of options and a good start to the day. Highly recommended :)

Staff was very friendly. Attractions were so close you could walk. Clean rooms, good breakfast, and the staff went out of their way to make our visit great. will stay again.
