Typical older Hampton currently being renovated. Most of the interior has already been renovated. Now the exterior is being redone. And, the pool is closed for renovation too. Personnel are very friendly and accommodating. Could hear the people in the room above me stomping around.
The room was to be non smoking and it smelled like an ashtray. Bathroom needs some TLC, new vanity, better lighting, new tub and the clothes hook on the back of the door was coming off. The bed was super comfy so we did sleep well. Just very disappointed in the condition of the room. We love staying at Hampton Inns because we always have found the clean and beds very comfortable. Very disappointed in the visit and will not be staying here again.
Room interior curtains and bed skirt old and damaged , needs replacing. Mattress needs replacing. Skin crawled all night. Very uncomfortable. Staff was friendly, breakfast was typical. Would not have stayed had we know these problems. Checked in late.
Housekeeping was excellent, Breakfast had good choices. Great location for the private event we were attending at the Indiana Grand Casino. Signage is poor....hard to find, we passed it twice before we realized where it was.
First of all-Front desk staff was AWESOME! First class customer service as is expected at Hilton properties. However, when I arrived, they were doing a facelift of the entrance. That is nice, but the greater need for a facelift is the interior. It was dark, dreary, smallest room I had stayed in outside of NYC. Sooooo outdated-the bathtub was so small that I had to stand with my feet together (I am an average sized human). The bed was comfy but I had alot of desk work to do over the next three days so after one night, I checked out and chose to commute from Greenfield HGI. The exterior area had overgrown weeds and some old out buildings next door. Nothing too great to look at. Please-this place needs attention!!! The nice people who work there deserve a better place to represent!
Tired and need a place to crash on the way home from an event. We have had good experiences with Hampton before and spotted this on our route. Clerk was very welcoming to weary travelers. This hotel provided us with the much needed rest stop.
Very close to where we needed to go. Checked in early - room was cool, clean, and perfect for our stay. Staff very friendly and service good. Hotel was quiet. Complimentary breakfast was wonderful. Will stay again.
Hotel was being remodeled. Not in very good condition. Maybe better experience next time. I did encounter a safety issue when going down the stairs from the 2nd floor. I notified the front desk that a painters tarp was left in the middle of the stairs. It was removed immediately.
As we drove up, saw a very small Hampton Inn sign on the right. Imagine such a large corporation would not want a larger sign at such a holding. All of the Hampton Inns we have stayed in are new/newer/ updated. This one still had the appearance of a Motel 8 or Super 6. Upon checking in asked if the rooms had been remodeled--answer, "yes." Apparently the remodel crew had not made it to room 307. For the price, can't classify it more than a dump. Wallpaper coming off bathroom wall, caulk turned orangish all around the bathtub and a large crack in the plastic tub surround filled with discolored caulk. New/remodeled, I think not. The room was so small, you could hardly pass through between the bed and beat up piece of furniture used for the TV. Windows were dirty in the room and front entry door was filthy, as was the area surrounding the front entrance. Later, I asked for a location for a vending machine, answer, " we don't have any because we are remodeling." Really now and I noticed this place has been open for over a year. The wall paper in the halls is all scared up and coming loose also. This place is definitely NOT business ready. I would give it less than one star if I could. It gives Hampton Inn a bad name. Better to build new than redo a cheap defunct motel. Since it must have been a former Motel 8 or Super 6, the night rate should reflect that because this Hampton Inn is a scam!
If you are staying in the area of Shelbyville, this is a great place. Reasonable rates, quiet and comfortable rooms, and a free breakfast that is outstanding. We were in for a wedding, and they accommodated everyone. All were more than satisfied. There is some renovation going on right now, but there was no impact at all.
