Comfort Hotel Dinard Balmoral3.0 out of 5.0

The owners are always available and knowledgeable about activities, visits to do in Dinard areas. The hotel is well maintained, clean, with all you need in your bedroom. The breakfast is very good with all French bread, as well as averything else, fresh and enough for everybody.
I'm not sure why this hotel has the word 'comfort' in its title or why I paid more for a superior room which was tiny with the smallest bed I've ever slept in! My husband is 6'4 and his feet were hanging out all night. Very hard bed, woke with both neck and back ache and felt claustrophobic when two of us tried to move around the room. The wifi only worked sporadically, the tv buffered and was barely watchable. Our shower had a large container for shower gel yet only contained an inch of soap! Certainly not enough for two people requiring 2 showers (evening and morning) and finally the towel size... bath towels were more hand towel size again no good for a man! Forget any tea or coffee making facility - there is none but you do get a hair drier... The two stars are for location and the actual rating this hotel deserves - there isn't really much else to say!!
Rooms are clean and tidy albeit a little on the small size. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms adequate. A small lift takes you up to all three floors. The bar closes early around 8-00pm and front door access after 8-00pm is by code. Breakfast was typically continental style but excellent.
A 4 day golfing break with friends in the Dinard region staying at the Comfort Hotel in the centre near to restaurants We had a great time , the parking is ok with safe parking opposite in public underground park. The hotel was very quiet near to restaurants. Breakfast was good , staff very nice but the bar could have been open for all if us later in evening. They could have mad a fortune if they had an open policy.
Lovely and confirtable Lovely room and friendly reception, very efficient and helpful owner. They even arranged very early breakfast for us infact it was 07.15 when they actually serv it at 08.00am. I will for sure stay there again when I play golf again in Dinard.
We just had the one night in Dinard and were very fortunate to find this hotel. All of the staff were exceptionally polite, friendly and helpful, the hotel itself was clean and nicely furnished and the continental breakfast was excellent. Plenty of choice to eat and drink and all very fresh. Although our room was small it was absolutely ideal, a very comfortable bed, a good en-suite with a powerful shower and very clean and well presented. We will definitely stay here if possible on our next visit to Dinard, excellent value for money and situated just minutes away from many cafes, shops and restaurants.
Couldn't ask for a better room with plenty of space and balconies. The bed was a generous proportion and extremely comfortable. The location of the hotel is a short walk from almost everywhere in Dinard but just far enough away so the occasional late night revealers do not disturb your sleep. Breakfast was plentiful and the reception was very professional, friendly and welcoming. We can not think of a better place to stay on our regular visits to Dinard and looking forward to our next trip.
I chose to stay here because it was affordable. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the hotel and the size of the rooms. My room 207 was a good size. (Had a bigger bathroom than 202 where my patents stayed). The staff were also friendly and helpful despite our poor french. They for the most part understood our English. I would definitely stay again. It was an easy place to relax and had aircon in the room. I do like more bells and whistles with breakfast but then it is only €10. Seems like a bargain when I've been staying in London a lot recently and they can charge much more. Should just mention the wifi is good (code found next to bed) and if you stay out past nine you have to use a door code to get back into. You also have an actual key to lock your room with. Not plastic cards here! Worth saying I misplaced my key in my room and they had a spare. If you find yourself in same situation no need to panic. It is in a good location towards the top of a main shopping street. Just make sure to do your shopping on any day but Monday! Many of the non-essential shops here close then and unfortunately that includes fancy chocolatiers. It is only 5 mins to the main beach from the hotel. It is also located very closely to top restaurants on TripAdvisor. #2 & & #3 are a few steps in either direction and #1 round the corner. (Prebook them - very popular). I happily recommend #2 Bouche au Breton few doors down as I ate there. You will get a good burger at number 3 two doors up the road. The latter is good for families with kids. If you are coming by the water taxi boat you can find the hotel ok. When at the arrival hut look out to sea. Turn left and follow the path around until you get to the main beach and casino. (You will walk last an outdoor pool on the way). Keep following the road up and round so you come to the casino front doors. The road you walk upwards is in line with the casino doors if I recall correctly. As an aside we came from St Malo and should have pre-booked a taxi from the ferry terminal as none came for 20 mins while we waited. (From hotel back to condor ferries on way home for 3 people was €25 and hotel arranged this for us). Ended up walking to St Malo from the ferry terminal and to the Corsaire boat. Not a long walk 5-10 mins? Worst bit taking the lugagge. Walk left out the departures and port area at the ferry terminal over the bridge to St Malo. Turn left again when arrive at the walls, remain outside them (there will be trees in a boulevard along one side and parked cars) until you get to slip way. White hut sells Corsaire tickets. Check out their website for times. Good value boat that goes to various destinations. If you like water in your room grab some from local shop as no minibar. Tap watr seemed ok to drink though. Also be aware no iron in the room. Didn't do any but guess you ask for it. Maybe handy to know if you're in a rush! Not sure what else I can add but enjoy. 😊
Very clean and comfortable albeit a bit small. Breakfast was very good value for money. We were lucky to find a parking spot directly opposite the hotel, otherwise finding parking nearby would have been difficult. There are some really nice restaurants nearby especially 8 bis which did fabulous moules.
Clean and confortable room. The tenant is kind and very helpful. I had originally booked with wrong dates and duration but it did not matter to the tenant who brought appropriate modifications on demand.
