Second stay here with the family and just as enjoyable! Tree cover and location gives a sense of seclusion/privacy and cabin stocked with all the necessities and super clean. Highly recommended.

I could live on the deck

The house was really well staged when we arrived with lights on and a welcome message. It was a nice touch! Convenient location; near the highway but no road noise present. Neighbors could been heard but not seen (and never heard from inside the main house). Kitchen was well equipped for all of our cooking needs. The deck was amazing: it was very clean and had comfortable furniture so we spent a lot of time out there listening to birds and cicadas. The seasonal creek was not present in July (bummer!) but we played at a creek in Beavers Bend State Park instead.The only downside to the cabin is the gravel road to it, which was super rough on our way in. We have a crossover so it was okay, but it wouldn't have been fun in a sedan. Workers laid new gravel while we were there and after that it was no problem. I highly recommend visiting the Museum of the Red River while there; it's free, the building itself is really cool and it had an amazing art collection. And Gasquatch has the best collection of muscle cars I've seen in years.

Spring Break

My husband and I brought 5 teenagers (3 girls and 2 boys) and it was the perfect accommodations. The deck, the fire pits and the hot tub were well used. The property inside and out is beautiful. As mom, I enjoyed a kitchen with all the necessities. Great central location to the state park, restaurants, and casino. Property manager was very easy to communicate with when we had a problem. Would definitely stay again!

Trout & About was immaculate and had everything we needed. We got to enjoy the hot tub and shuffleboard. There were so many board games provided including puzzles, our favorite. Thank you for such a comfortable place for our family’s Spring Break and for memories we will treasure.

A great girls weekend!

The Trout & About cabin was a perfect fit for our recent girls trip! Lounging in the hot tub, having wine by the fire, and exploring the area during the day made for an excellent weekend. Nice big bedrooms, spacious bathrooms, and a well equipped kitchen make this a cabin to pick for your own trip!

Awesome Stay at Trout & About

We had a wonderful time at Trout & About! There were two couples and this cabin is perfect for two couples. Both bedroom suites were equal in accommodations which was good. Our interaction with hosts was always helpful and very timely! Would gladly rebook Trout & About!

Girls Trip

This was a girlfriend trip and we had a wonderful time! We range in ages from 75 to 61, I would say it was a toss-up on what our favorite part of the trip was either the time we spent sitting on the deck in front of the fireplace or sitting around the large table playing games. It is a tough choice! It would probably depend on which person you asked. Thanks again for a lovely home, good beds to sleep in and nice amenities. I don’t think we could have asked for one more thing. Respectfully The Girls from FBC Valliant

Much relaxation

This was a wonderful cabin. Had everything we needed. Jacuzzi was wonderful and the deer were beautiful. Loved shampoo and soap. Just bring your toothbrush. Close to good restaurants. The cabin was exactly as described. Would not change a thing.

Great Family Weekend Getaway

We stayed 3 nights for a family getaway and it was fantastic! Our group included infants to elderly and the house had everything we needed. It was so peaceful and such a pretty setting. The host reached out to make sure we knew she was available if we needed anything. The check in procedure was very easy and all aspects of our stay was great.
