Karen at the front desk is WONDERFUL. She takes care of you as if you were family. We've stayed here previously during a long period of a relative's hospitalization. Those offer selective smoking rooms. My husband smokes and very few hotels/motels offer smoking rooms, so this is very important to us. Smoking rooms are located at the end of the unit. They have a clean washer and dryer that means I wasn't having to pack so much for a 7 to 10 day stay. They offer a good breakfast with 2 types cereal, waffles you make yourself, sausage biscuits, toast, cinnamon buns, fruit, 2 juices, milk and coffee. The rooms are clean, has microwave and refrigerator, iron and ironing board and coffeemaker. The rates are cheaper if you book directly on the Super 8 website. Also, if you join the Wyndham Rewards program you can earn points for free nights. If you want a clean, quiet hotel with great prices, stay here. If you want luxury, then stay at the Wyndham next door, but I think this is wasted money. This place has EVERYTHING we needed. We have stayed here many times over the last 3 years. It is consistently clean, quiet and better rates with a great breakfast. More importantly, the manager, staff, housekeeping and Karen at the front desk, do everything they can't to make your stay enjoyable. We were just there last week and will be returning shortly. To Karen and Manager, thanks for making our difficult trips less stressful because of the way you took care of us.
If I had anything to say it would be the parking is not enough although I like the fact the parking is not right the room doors
Where to begin? My friend left some things at my room. Since it was after midnight the night attendant refused admittance to my friend in the property. I had to get up, get dressed and take his belongings to him. The front office called multiple times asking if I was coming while I was getting dressed. As a paying guest if I say I was expecting someone there should be no problem with them coming on property. The housekeeper showed up to clean my room the first day with a 4 to 5 year child in tow. I guess I should be thankful since my room was never served the rest of my stay. The last day they evidently changed the WiFi password but didn’t bother communicating that information to guests. I had to call and ask for the new password. Never had a property change WiFi passwords during a stay before. When checking out I was just asked if I wanted a receipt. No inquiring how my stay was or anything else. Will definitely stay somewhere else my next visit to Houston.
I drove in from Austin got to Houston around midnight to find this hotel reservation was a breeze with the website reservations company checking in the hotel was difficult getting anyone at the front desk to answer security call them from the same phone I used I was outside for about 45 minutes before I finally got in and was able to check in you stay here has been good everything else was as follows on the website.
Pillows felt cheap. Either get better or leave more. Also need some bagels on the brkfst menu. Or maybe even some sausage and gravy for biscuits.
Average. Beware of smoking rooms popping up first at booking. Had to pay more for non-smoking when I couldn't deal with the overwhelming smell as soon as I walked in the room. Non-smoking room didn't smell like smoke, but whatever was used to clean the room was obnoxiously heavy and perfumed. Parking lot packed to overflow when I returned from dinner with friends. They actually blocked off the parking lot to more cars, but the office employee let me in and allowed me to park in a no parking spot. I never could get the internet to have any real signal strength, but gave up trying.
Nice hotel. Very clean. Has 18 wheeler truck parking which is a plus for me. Affordable rooms. Persistent cleaners that will clean your room at all costs. 5 Star service
Stayed here 3 nights while I was in town for a destroying texas fest. It was the cheapest place around and particularly close to the venue. Th a/c worked great, the beds and pillows were comfortable, and the bathroom was kind of small and crappy looking but it had a toilet that flushed and hot water in the shower so that's all I need. The room even comes with a coffee maker and some single serve coffee! Only issue i really had was that a friend of mine brought his xbox 360 and we had to ask for a TV remote at the front desk to change the input source on the TV since the remote in the room only controlled the channels on the satellite receiver and they had disabled the manual controls on the TV. Pretty sweet samsung TV though
Unfortunately my stay was not very good. First thing I noticed when going in was a large tree roach in the bathroom; fortunately it was dead. One of my two keys did not work along with the coffee pot and microwave. There was also something on the top side of the sheets; I just felt like they were not clean as it looked to me like roach poop.
I was impressed with this place for the cost. It was comfortable, quiet, and clean. My only issue was that this is Houston and when the air is off in the room until I check in and it is 90 degrees in the room it takes awhile to cool down. But other than that it was a nice stay. Front desk workers were nice and polite and the breakfast available was better than expected.
