The hotel is awful! The carpets are dirty, the reception is not good and there are bed bugs in the room. They inform they have breakfast included, but it's only coffee and juice. The overall impression about the room cleaning is horrible! The rate is cheaper, but I had more inconvenient that benefits. I definitely not recommend this hotel. See the pictures of bed bugs bites. I reported it to the hotel manager, but he just ask if I wanted to change the room. Don't offered any assistance or reimbursement.
I don't disbelieve the other reviewers who had negative experiences--I know any given stay at these small family-run hotels can be totally hit and miss. Nonetheless, I had a very pleasant stay at Moonlight Suites. The room was very reasonable ($75) and I needed a place near the Amegy Bank building so my sister could take Step 2 CS in the morning (this hotel is maybe a 4 minute drive away). I think it helped that I checked in very late at night, and so the person on staff was a young man who was courteous enough in getting me a room (as compared to perhaps the daytime management, who may be less friendly based on some of the other reviews). The room itself was very comfortable. It smelled a little of incense, but pleasantly and not overpoweringly so, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The room was clean and they even provided those little packaged travel toothbrushes, which was handy for not digging around in luggage. After I dropped my sister off at her test, I did receive an unsolicited call at 10:30 reminding me that check-out was at 11, but it was not impolite, and given the numerous times I have had far worse experiences at similar hotels (e.g. 7 am walk-ins by cleaning ladies who were told I had already checked out or extremely loud knocking in the wee hours to see if I was still there), I figured a brief call at 10:30 is really not so bad. The same staff member called back again at 10:45, but this seemed to be a mistake because after he heard the same person answer the phone, he apologized repeatedly and hung up. There appeared to be free wifi available, but it was password protected and I wasn't there long enough to need it, so I couldn't say how good or bad the wifi was. TLDR; My stay at this hotel lasted a whole 8 hours. However, it was a very pleasant 8 hours in a clean, comfortable room with only minimal interaction with staff. I will probably come back and stay at the same place in a year when I take my own Step 2 CS.
I tried to book a room through orbitz. The staff was terrible over the phone and no understanding of the cancellation policies. The employees yelled at me over the phone and were very rude!! They sent me on a wild goose chase of contacting orbitz. I would never stay there and the place should be shut down!!!
When we saw the Hotel we thought "lovely place". But wehen we entered the room we were shmashed by the extreme smell of incense. And as we switched the TV on we had a hord-core pornographical movie on the screen. Switching tto the next channel - another hardcore movie. Blankets were not ok. Anyhow we survived
The room appears clean until you pull back the sheets. The blanket had semen stains. When I called to the front desk to request clean ones the guy said "you made my night about you." Whatever that means. They had roaches & the owner/mamanager was very rude. He would just walk in my room. He stated "I saw your car leave I thought you were gone." If I was gone I don't understand why he would invite himself in anyway. He deactivated my key on Sunday, my check out date was Monday. My overall experience was TERRIBLE! I advise anyone thinking about renting a room here to think three times, before preceding.
The service was horrible sheets were dirty. When we asked the manager to change the sheets the manager pulled a gun and told us we are making his day about us. They have roaches and the manager did not knock before entering and we asked him why was he just walking in he said I'm checking the run because i saw the car leave.
