Lovely place

We enjoyed our stay in the honeymoon room. It was perfect for the 2 of us. The island retreat was very nice overall. Lesha, who is the on site manager, is delightful. Looking out to the ocean is always our favorite and the room provided is with that.

What a beautiful place!!

I cannot recommend The Island Retreat highly enough! Sherri (property owner and hostess) was incredibly accommodating, kind, and wonderful to spend time with. Her property is easily amongst the most beautiful on the island. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite and it was perfect. You can watch sunrise (and moon rise) over the ocean from the comfort of your bed or the private deck. The room is cute, comfortable, and private. It has a perfect mini kitchen, nice bathroom, internet, television, etc. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. The main house is gorgeous. Sherri will greet you with freshly ground coffee in the morning and love from her sweet dogs who my wife fell absolutely in love with. Beyond that there is a big common area with a huge television, ocean views, and direct access to the swimming pool. Last, but not least, the house has an excellent gym room with all the equipment you need for a real workout or a relaxing yoga session, which we really enjoyed. The grounds and location are what really make the place special! The retreat sits on a bluff directly above one of the most beautiful and sparsely used beaches on the island. Take a 15 second walk from the bar/cantina area, past the gorgeous pool, down the stairs to the Atlantic and enjoy the mellow waves or snorkeling on the reef right out front. There’s even a fun wave down the beach for anyone looking to surf. Plus the retreat is just a couple minute walk to the Abaco Inn or the Firefly! We loved it!

Paradise on the Beach

The online listing does not capture the magnificence of the setting with direct access to a beautiful, nearly-private beach. The expansive property includes a swimming pool, spacious decks (including our own private deck) 2 exercise rooms and a main house with a professional kitchen and massive big screen TV. We watched the sunrise from our king-sized bed and the sunset from our deck. Our host anticipated our needs pre-arrival (golf cart rental and ferry schedule) and was very responsive to any questions or needs we had during our stay. We had a wonderful visit and can't wait to come back!
