While the exterior is a bit dated and old, the interiors of the rooms and the large size are fantastic. The full kitchen and dining area are perfect. It's not luxury. It's practical. And I love the Ilima. I used the dining area to telework and found the wifi consistent and strong. Hosted several meetings and when I completed my work hours, I was in Hawaii!!!! 3 blocks from the beach. An easy walk. Great access to Waikiki and all its food.... poke. musubi. grilled ono. And the list never ends. The Ilima staff are kind and generous. Emily and Jay were delightfully wonderful and accommodating. They each deserve a raise. When booking, I would ask for an upper level. Floor 11 or higher. Mountain/Canal View or Ocean View. The City View is not much to see. Pretty industrial. The pool is quaint, refreshing. No restaurants on site, but who cares. You're in Hawaii, land of amazing eats by local vendors. Who wants to eat hotel food anyway? After my stay at the Ilima, I spent 3 more nights at the Queen Kapiolani, an alleged high-end resort. 2X the money. I regret changing hotels. The QK was NOT worth the extra money. All my future stays will be the Ilima. Value. Room size. Full Kitchen. Free Parking. Centrally located. Gracious staff. Gregory, from Los Angeles.

It was close to everything we needed including shops and food. Only minutes away from the beach which we loved.

Wonderfull to have a full kitchen with on site parking and helpful and friendly staff

Room was very spacious, complete with fully stocked kitchenette. Daily room service. Free parking. Close to food & the beach.

Like location, didn't like noise.

The property is central to restaurants, the beach, stores, bus stops, and the highway. My room was large and clean. Though I did not cook, it also had a full functional kitchen, which allowed me to store left over food and to chill water in the fridge. The daily service was excellent. The tv had lots of channels but I did not watch tv.

Reasonably priced

Wonderful staff and the room was very clean, spacious, and well equipped!

Great place to date enjoyed myself

Everything was excellent except the little wood bugs in the kitchen,

The staff was friendly, the room was clean and well maintained. The parking lot was easy to get in and out of

We really enjoyed our stay at Ilima hotel. The room was massive, and clean. The sheets and towels were so crisp I felt like a freshly swaddled baby. We loved the hotel soap?!! I was going to preach to my daughter over the lack of quality hotel soaps offer, I’m glad I held my tongue. It was one of our more satisfying experiences, bathing. The porcelain tub was long, so we really enjoyed being able to stretch out. We all took near hour long baths, the hot water blazes, so be careful. The hotel was definitely worth the price range, well below resort style hotels and we were still really close to Paia Fish market one of our favorite hangs, and Nordy Rack. Dukes Lane and the squishable store are close by, too. so walking around Waikiki is very accessible, but hearing the city noise is not an issue. our room felt sound proof from street ruckus and sirens, with window closed and AC on, such a good nights sleep. My only issue was carpet, it was clean and looked well cared for, but carpet can make me feel dirty and I know it’s more likely psychological than the premise keepers neglect, but caution to the wind, knowing this hotel is an oldie but goody! ps, they have a parking garage included with the price which made this a stand out purchase. So it’s a consideration if you’re with a vehicle, a lot of hotels list the parking amenity with a 35$/night fee, and that leaps your budget back up to resort prices, which may include parking, if your trying to travel with frugality in mind.

It's obvious that the owner(s) worked to update the hotel. The room, however, was not fully updated. You can tell it's an OLD place. Everything we needed was available, but the $109 charge for amenities is steep for what is supplied. We did enjoy the balcony.

The room is big, clean and comfortable. All staff were very friendly. I would recommend the hotel to my friends.

Parking on premises was really appreciated. Also, staff was very prompt and courteous.

Like it nice clean great location and it was what we expected !

Mahalo for staying with us - and understand that Waikiki can occasionally be noisy, even in our great location on a quieter block. Thank you for sharing your concerns. We hope to welcome you back in the future, with warm aloha,
