Clean, spacious room. Good amenities, even better location. I love this area of Waikiki. Plenty of beach real estate to spread out, lagoon access, and several area restaurants. Wish there were more things open late.

It was okay

The location is good because you're right next to the lagoon, which is perfect for kids. And it's within walking distance to Ala Moana mall (10 min walk) The rooms are comfortable, but the bed is on the harder side. And the AC was temperamental. It would be really cold, then felt like it was struggling. There were lots of fresh, clean towels and the kitchen is nice when you have leftovers to reheat. The pool is basic, but was okay if you're looking to just go for a dip.

EVERY hotel, fancy or not, needs to double their inventory on wash cloths. If our room is not cleaned first thing in the morning, we are always left without wash cloths. That is my only issue.

Overall it was good. Hotel is kind of outdated in the rooms. Good to have the kitchen. Chester front desk was so amazing and staff overall 10/10 friendly. They give two bottles of water free per day and also free ice cream daily for Hawaii that's a big deal. Nothing is free. Check in is very fast very easy less than 2 mins and no lines. The grill and aroma cafe has very good food! Close to lagoon and beach maybe 5 min walk.

Five nights at the Ilikai Hotel. Each night and most of the mornings we were woke up by very loud mechanical sounds which vibrated the walls. It sounded like people in the next room were drilling I to the concrete walls or floor. It totally sucked to be in room 2431. The source of the noise was room 2429. DO NOT stay at the Ilikai Hotel if you are out in room 2431. Room 2429 is a condo residence not a hotel room. Were it not for the Ilikai Hotels great location and some of the excellent/professional staff that we interacted with, I would have rated Ilikai Hotel “Terrible” or lower if possible. It sucks to stay in a hotel that you can’t get a decent night of sleep in. The hotel’s complaint reporting, tracking, follow-up, and resolution procedures have a lot of room for improvement.

We had a wonderful one week stay. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The resort is beautiful and love that they give you free water every day and coupons for free ice cream. The coffee shop is very convenient for morning coffee and breakfast. There are shops, and restaurants and you can just walk down to the Hilton lagoon for the fireworks or beach access. The only down the side was the escalator wasn’t working to get your luggage up the stairs, but you can take an out-of-the-way elevator. You can walk to Ala Moana center, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby.

The Ilikai was a nice! Great views, the room and kitchen well-appointed for this type of stay. Clean property, staff friendly and welcoming. Very centrally located for walking to many places. We would stay again, a little noisy with lanai doors open as we like enjoying the tropical breeze in the evenings while sleeping, but it is downtown Honolulu!
